"Macrium Reflect is my favorite and frankly, the best backup software I've ever used."

What do you like best?

I love the software's ability to restore images to dissimilar hardware. It's made moving users from one PC to the next a breeze! The site manager console sends me an email everyday listing all of my backup jobs and success/failures. Their Server Plus version backs up active SQL databases which helps alleviate some of the stress on management about data integrity.

What do you dislike?

There isn't much to dislike here. I wish the company was US-based so I could get responses to trouble tickets a little more quickly. If you're emailing with support, it may be 24 hours before a response is sent from their support team.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I can't speak highly enough about this product. I have used this product in both a Managed Service environment and as in-house support.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Data integrity. It allows me to backup in multiple locations using both full and incremental backups. I also do a separate SQL backup and a "file and folder" backup that copies all of the folder security with it.

"Incredibly easy and powerful imagining and cloning tool"

What do you like best?

The product is extremely easy to use, and it is fast. There are multiple options for imaging a drive, including full images, incremental and differential images. Drive cloning can be done to smaller drives by easily decreasing a partition size (assuming there is room on the original drive) and larger drives be increasing the partition size. Both cloning and imaging support both MBR and GPT partitions. Clones are bootable. Cloning and imaging tasks can be scheduled, The paid version allows for deploying an existing system onto new hardware.

What do you dislike?

It’s only available for windows systems. Does not handle drives with I/O errors at all.

Recommendations to others considering the product

As far as cloning and imaging utilities go, this one is top notch. The free version is feature rich enough that it will work for the vast majority of people. The paid version is very well priced and introduces some very useful features, such as incremental clones and images and new hardware redeployment.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Easy bootable backups of mission critical devices. Imaging and deploying multiple identical systems. Being able to redeploy a system on new hardware.

What Backup solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

"Macrium was my imaging solution for about 6 months."

What do you like best?

Macrium is very powerful, light weight , easy to use. You can capture a virtual machine image and then deploy it to physical machine, and all of these features are available on the trial version!

What do you dislike?

When capturing an image from a VM and deploying to a dell laptop some of the drivers literally just disappears and this seems to be a known issue as everyone I have told about it has stated this issue. I really don't have many issues with Macrium, I does what it is supposed to do plus a whole lot more.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you need a simple imaging solution for any size business or just to back up ypur pc at home get Macrium it will fit all those needs.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Macrium saved my company during a critical trasnsition by stepping into Sccm's shoesand to be quite honest I had a machine up and running in 15 minutes, vs 45-60 with SCCM.

"Best free cloning software, great choice for backups too"

What do you like best?

I love that Macrium Reflect has a simple to use interface with tons of automated processes. You do not have to be a wizard to figure this out, actually...anyone could. The software will auto-detect connected drives and display them in a logical format for simple understanding of internal drives vs. external drives. The cloning process is amazing and never had a fault with it. It will clone everything properly, all partitions, recovery partitions even, MBR, everything.

What do you dislike?

There are limitations with managing unseen partitions, particularly when the external drive was formatted as an "On-the-go" version of Windows, formatted on a Mac/Unix or other, or a corrupted drive that has no existing partition. In this case you must use another software to first recover or create a partition on the drive. It just would make sense to include something like this in the software to avoid needing another software to create the partition first.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Try it, you will love the simplicity to the software and how robust it is. The amount of management you can do with Macrium Reflect, scheduling, restoring, cloning, etc., is remarkable.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Computers with HDD's are slow and should not exist, everyone should have updated to an SSD by now. Especially the boot drive. My purpose primarily was upgrading our existing systems without having to fully configure everything from scratch. Obviously, a clone process is the right choice here. With Samsung SSD's, they ship the cloning software with it, but with other drives they do not. Therefore you are on your own to find the cloning software. After using MANY alternative options for testing and reviewing purposes, the conclusion was simple - I will use only 1 software for any SSD that is not Samsung...that is to use Macrium Reflect.

"Great resource for hard drive cloning!"

What do you like best?

I love the ease and effectiveness of the software. I used it to make a clone of my hard drive in order to install an SSD, and it worked wonderfully. The swap was flawless, and it was my go-to recommendation to friends who were also looking to swap hard drives.

What do you dislike?

There wasn't much that I disliked. The software was as effective as I hoped it to be. It did take quite a long time to complete the cloning process, but that was understandable given the task and the amount of data.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With this software, it makes computer upgrades much easier and more attainable. To keep computers current by upgrading to SSD's is of great benefit at huge cost savings (preventing the purchase of brand new computers). This has the great benefit of cost savings!

"Easiest personal business imaging and cloning tool. SSD friendly."

What do you like best?

Current version allows for easy understanding of which PE to pick. Selection of boot options. Ability to pickup and scan for unknown device drivers. The options that are optimized for cloning SSD's is the most handy. Easy to understand and intuitive interface.

What do you dislike?

Previous versions may have difficult to choose and distinguish between PE environments. However now most windows based share the same PE up to WIN10. More dynamic partition resizing wizard or calculator would be helpful. To make it even more foolproof, explanations of each step and option could be built in to as highlightable float boxes.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Making compressed easy images of systems. Macrium also handles GPT clones seamlessly.
