"Complete Control over several accounts"

What do you like best?

The ability to easily manage several of my clients search accounts and their campaigns across multiple channels. The reporting for search can be done quickly and with several options and variations. The ease of the display advertising has been very beneficial.

What do you dislike?

The beginning learning curve. I feel most of the tutorials and initial start up gear toward reporting and should be geared towards setting up the accounts. A little more direct help from Marin would make the start easier. The display reporting can be improved.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I work in small market and can use Marin to help smaller accounts achieve results. Then once we have set-up the accounts the reporting is great. I am also able to handle several small accounts at once maximizing my time.

"Great Customer Service with a Bright Future"

What do you like best?

The customer service and client managers are top notch. Extremely responsive, always friendly. We've been a Marin customer since January 2014 which is over four years now. They value our input, and allow us to bean influence on their platform.

What do you dislike?

The old platform is outdated, but the new platform in beta is amazing though it is taking very long to produce. Client-facing reporting is lacking, but hopeful for the future platform.

Recommendations to others considering the product

While Marin is currently still using the same platform from four years ago, their new platform to be released in 2018 will be an amazing transformation for the company.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are solving the ability to govern, monitor, and manage multiple PPC accounts across multiple search engines. We are also utilizing their parameter builder to mass-manage tracking for our internal analytics systems.

"Marin Review"

What do you like best?

That it houses all of my campaigns, regardless of engine, in one place. I can easily see a quick snapshot of performance this way.

What do you dislike?

There are many glitches with the software that you don't realize unti you are working in the platform frequently - for example you have to reupload the creative bulksheet with the term "landing page" instead of click through URL. This is just one of many examples.

"Great Platform and Managed Services"

What do you like best?

We work with the managed service team who launch, monitor and optimize all of our campaigns. They have worked tirelessly to ensure that they deliver a high level of service and are available when we need them. We mainly use the Marin platform for adhoc reporting and it's simple enough to draw actionable incite from.

What do you dislike?

There isn't a great deal to dislike as the majority of our work is handled by the managed services team.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We were looking for an agency that could efficiently launch, manage and grow our brand. The benefits of using Marin and their managed services means that we can scale the campaigns at speed, whilst having the time to properly analyse performance.

"All around necessary functions present"

What do you like best?

Reporting functionality is great. Endless dimensions make it easy to slice for reporting and everyday management. Managing dimensions for upgraded URLs is by far the easiest compared to Kenshoo, DS or Adobe. Integration with Gemini is ahead compared to Kenshoo, DS and Adobe.

What do you dislike?

load time is painful at times although workarounds (not ideal) do exist. UI functionality is slightly older than the competition.

Bid management needs improvement although it does with every tool in the space. Need hand holding to effectively use it. Algorithms are a bit weak.

Needs work with extensions.

Scheduling feature exists but cannot schedule all object elements for any given time of day or day or week. Weak scheduling feature compared to others in the space.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Don't go for an out of the box sales pitch. Come with questions specific to your business and management needs and ask to see them live.

Scale. We have many different websites that we need aggregated in reporting and management. All reports, object edits, etc. can be done in bulk in the same job.

"Marin Creates Efficiencies and Helps Deliver SEM Results"

What do you like best?

Bid Folders approach I like the automated bidding it saves time! Our team has integrated all of our AdWords and Bing Ads campaigns into Marin and it helps to streamline and manage multiple accounts from one location. I have been using for over 5 years and have seen significant improvements to workflow as a result. We have also received very strong support from our current sales rep and we have been pleased with the quality of service we've received. Service is important for an agency of our size, so to be able to get the time and investment from Marin has been exceptional for us. I will definitely continue to recommend Marin to any colleagues looking for a paid search management tool like Marin.

What do you dislike?

Slower support when we first started we didn't get what we needed at first but it improved. The Web Interface is a little clunky and can sometimes be harder to navigate. It's not nearly as intuitive as AdWords, but with some training you will be able to find your way around the platform.

I'd like to see a more aggressive pricing structure to lower the fees.

"Valuable"

What do you like best?

Marin optimises our bids all the time, meaning that even when we are not in the office our search bids are attracting conversions at the best possible CPA. We have also seen significant improvements in revenue, and decreases in spend in comparison to using Googles bidding strategies.

What do you dislike?

Although it is very useful, it can be quite difficult to learn without instruction. Luckily however there are webinars you can view to learn the various features - and ultimately a Marin specialist badge upon completion of the training.

Recommendations to others considering the product

The pros continue to stack up, and in cases such as ours where paid marketing is used a lot, it is a sound investment to use Marin - we would not consider going back after beginning to use it.

Allows us to optimise bids without being in the office, for example when on holiday or busy working on other paid media elements. We have realised that Marin bidding software is more effective for us as achieving a better ROAS than adwords bidding strategies.

"Marin has taken our PPC program to the next level"

What do you like best?

The UI is extremely intuitive, making it simple to find all the data we need. Set up is rather straight-forward and the account team is very helpful and responds quickly. What I like the most is that the software does address new features in search engines rather quickly so anything new we launch is likely to be tracked.

What do you dislike?

Like any software, there are sometimes glitches that come and go - this doesn't occur often but when it does, it does halt progress.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Definitely do a demo and see what they've got. Their account management team is amazing and I never feel like I'm left hanging or totally lost if anything goes wrong, or if there is a challenge I need to address.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

While not a 'problem', we were looking to take a already successful PPC program and boost our revenue/ROAS. Marin's automated bidding took things to a higher level then we had dreamed possible. Also, we needed one reliable tracking method for the entire PPC strategy, rather than piecing together reports from individual channels that didn't necessarily match up with Google Analytics (bc Analytics' attribution isn't wonderful and favor Organic). Also the automated and custom reporting feature (while expected with any conversion tracking software) is really easy to use.

"User friendly for social management"

What do you like best?

Regarding Marin social, it´s a practical tool for managing facebook paid ads when you have more than one facebook account for different countries. The bulk editing tool at the ad level is very useful and helps saving time when building many adsets at once. It´s good to be able to see many information at once in the main dashboard.

The platform has constant improvements, which shows they are always trying to keep up with the Facebook changes and provide a better experience to the users, in addition their customer support is reachable whenever needed and they are very responsive and helpful with any question.

What do you dislike?

Many sync problems with Facebook, the pivot table report needs improvements as not much can be done with it compared to a pivot table in excel. The platform takes a little longer than expected to uptade some informations and may crash sometimes specially when dealing with more than one page at once. The bulk editing doesn´t work with some features.

It still has some issues to be solved, but they already have some useful tools that beat power editor from Facebook.

Marin Social has helped us building campaigns more quickly and easily, saving us time. We have to constantly change our ads and the editing benefits from the platform helps with that.

"Great, Robust Platform that Could Use Some Design Love"

What do you like best?

I really like the amount of features that Marin offers!

I feel like I find a new feature almost every month which is very exciting. The feature I find the most beneficial to my daily work is the quick snapshot it provides of how your SEM accounts are performing. I can tell within a second whether the day was successful or not and then make educated decisions on how to improve or continue the trend.

The reporting is also quite robust as we have managed to merge our Attribution solution with Marin. We can now monitor our CPNs and efficiently adjust bids.

Looking forward to trying out the automatic bidding!

What do you dislike?

The UI could use some design notes and love!

For pages with table views, when you have over 9 columns the rest of the table gets cut off. The issue here is that the table cannot be scrolled horizontally so you either have to reorder columns when you want to see them, or drag half the screen out of view and resize - not great :(

Overall, the UI looks a bit dated and doesn't make you feel like you are using a robust piece of software - even though you are!

Other than the UI, the only other comment would be on the error messaging system. When you upload a new set of campaigns/keywords/creatives/etc. and it fails, the report you download to find out the cause provides a very bleak message that is hard to translate. It would be great if it told you very easily where the problem was (e.g. "Description Line 2 is too many characters! Try Shortening.")

Great for those with large media budgets, multiple SEM accounts and who use attribution modeling.

We were looking for a tool that was significantly more robust than Google/Bing Adwords managers that could provide us with advanced reporting and integrate with our Attribution software.

Happy to say that Marin has solved these problems and saves us a boat load of time everyday. - No more pivot tables!

"Good product, but not as great as it use to be"

What do you like best?

Allows us to manage Bing, Yahoo and Google in one platform. Love the dimensions tool as it helps to easily roll up reports and monitor performance. Also the automated reporting definitely helps manage campaigns and catch things before they get out of control.

What do you dislike?

Had an issue with Marin and Yahoo keywords becoming unsynced when changed the match type of a keyword, causing us to spend more money than we thought. Also, wish there was more capabilities to manage and report on audiences in Marin Software. Lastly, customer support hasn't been as good in recent years. Not sure if account managers are given more accounts or goals or what is causing the decline. Lastly, have tested the social platform and was not impressed, quit using it.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Good for smaller companies, as has lower spend requirements compared to other competitors in the space. The intial training program is not the most helpful but the new help section does offer good support. Suggest using the chat feature or calling when having an urgent issue rather than filing a ticket, can have slower response times.

Run efficient search and mobile campaigns in the US. Able to identify growth opportunities in how we offer products, keyword inventory we run based on search query reports and easily optimize ad copy.

"Integral Part of of PPC Management"

What do you like best?

The customer support and ongoing contact we have Marin is crucial to us using the platform effectively and for it to achieve maximum gains for our PPC accounts. Marin is on hand when we need them, and the extra support that the Centre of Excellence provide us is also crucial.

What do you dislike?

The only thing I dislike about Marin is the physical GUI and appearance of the backend itself. It is functionally perfect and it's statistics are vital, but it certainly could be more WEB2.0.

Recommendations to others considering the product

My recommendation is to utilise the contacts at Marin, speak to the account manager regularly and make a point of arranging calls with their Centre of Excellence Team. It may look complicated, it may be overwhelming, but it will improve the management of your PPC account, both reduction in manual time hours spent managing accounts and also the ROI.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have over 100,000 products synced with Google Merchant Centre and Bing Shopping. It is a task that is physically impossible to manage manually. The benefit of this is we achieve the maximum gains from our Shopping Campaigns which convert at a much higher ROAS than our standard ad campaigns.

"A Powerful SEM Platform with Strong Customer Support"

What do you like best?

I've used Marin in enterprise environments on a daily basis for the past 2 years. The ability to create, manage, edit, and report on campaigns across Google, Bing, and now Gemini in one platform greatly scales SEM management.

Marin's ability to customize conversion events and attribute revenue is also integral to measuring performance. I've been especially impressed with the multi-touch attribution integration that Marin was able to custom build for us.

What do you dislike?

Marin could work on supporting extensions better, for example, it doesn't support callout extensions and lacks library-level support for sitelinks in the UI. Bulk upload functionality exists, but I hope library-level support is on the roadmap because the engines have had it for a while now.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Marin is a true enterprise solution meant to scale SEM programs. Consider seriously if your client is a mid to large-sized business with a developed SEM program. It might be too much out of the box for SMB's or clients with smaller SEM programs.

The program that our team manages drives several million dollars in revenue per quarter. Marin makes bid management easy and I think that's a big part of our success.

"Great platform for streamlining digital campaign optimizations and launches!"

What do you like best?

User friendly platform that helps to reduce manual time needed to launch and optimize campaigns, which allows us to concentrate more on improving and expanding our clients' strategies and results. Great customer service and ongoing training and insights. Ability to bring in multiple types of conversion data to fully understand performance. Very easy for non-experienced team members to be able to use and navigate the platform.

What do you dislike?

Really like the platform for search, only hope is that Marin will expand into further cross channel capabilities including display and mobile ad serving. Additional integration with more sites and applications would be beneficial

Marin continues to improve their offerings, and should be considered while evaluating platforms.

"Excellent Bid Management Platform!"

What do you like best?

Marin offers a level of management that I've not seen before with other bid management platforms. Its incredibly granular and the system actually makes bid adjustments at the keyword level, instead of assigning default values across entire campaigns or ad groups.

What do you dislike?

The reporting isn't the nicest looking out there for end-clients. For internal reports and alerts, its incredibly robust though. Certainly an area where Marin falls short. However, the reporting feature isn't why you'd use this system. You can easily pair this with a dedicated reporting platform like Report Garden, and turn out INCREDIBLE end client reports, if thats what you need.

Recommendations to others considering the product

This platform requires some learning to use effectively. It is more than worth it though. If you need to provide fancy end-client reporting though, I advise looking into a dedicated reporting system, as client facing reports is the ONLY area I have noticed that Marin is lacking.

The system allows us to more easily optimize our client accounts for CPA metrics and drive costs down. We've seen a significant increase in performance for a number of accounts since migrating from our old bid management platform.

"Good flexibility for clients of varying sizes"

What do you like best?

Bidding goals are easy to define and assign, so far they are making logical decisions that helps free up a lot of time and work toward achieving client performance goals.

What do you dislike?

Views/filters not always intuitive and/or need to be re-applied when navigating through accounts. E.g. filtering keywords to only show enabled terms might include enabled keywords within paused campaigns or ad groups. So depending on how you navigate, there can be some annoyances with getting only the data you want.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I'm a freelance consultant, so time is a huge priority. Being able to quickly edit across channels, having a bidding system that doesn't require constant manual intervention, getting global views of accounts easily all saves time and allows me to focus more on strategic direction of accounts.

"Marin = ehh"

What do you like best?

The reporting and interface are user-friendly once given a walkthrough. You work with consistent staff so you know who to reach out to and not have to reach out to a general help or support email.

What do you dislike?

Didn't feel like during the setup the staff was super communicative as they should have been and there were lags where things could have moved faster. Not totally seeing the value in the extra cost.

I think if you can get the product setup and see a strong return in profitability it makes it worthwhile. Factoring in the additional cost of the tool would have to see significant improvements.

What do you like best?

The ease of working on the platform and the flow of work is much simpler compared to Facebook actual console.

What do you dislike?

Everytime we have a sale to launch we manually have to change each and every copy and the processing take a lot of time.

It's an easy to use tool and make your work easier since it brings everything together at one place which helps to manage difficult task. Give it a try and you'll definitely be used to it in a good way.

"Great for Streamline Process"

What do you like best?

It is a very user friendly dashboard with easily customizable columns to quickly see what you're looking for

What do you dislike?

There are more bugs than I would like to deal with, however, the customer support has always been quick and reliable

I find this much easier to use then Kenshoo, though I have had more time working in Marin so I may have gotten more used to it.

I use it to combine Google and Bing search campaigns to make optimizations and gain insight on a larger scale. It saves SO much time, and is easy to use for those who are not super famliar.

"Really great account team"

What do you like best?

The account team are always quick to respond and help with any issues. We have regular meetings to discuss performance and what else we could be doing

What do you dislike?

They have been talking about their new platform for a couple of years now and it's still not been released. They are a bit slow at keeping up with new product releases from Adwords. The bidding is only once a day, in comparison to their competitors which can do intra-day bidding, and the data is only refreshed once a day rather than real time

automated bidding, to save time and help manage a large account. The web queries help with reporting and visualisation of the data

"Almost there, but way too many nuances"

What do you like best?

I like that there are customizable features like creating custom columns, custom dimensions, and the ability to bulk upload across multiple account.

What do you dislike?

I strongly dislike the lack of sitelink management capability, the inability to pull all active creatives/keywords in active campaigns and groups, and how the help chats are usually completely unhelpful. I also wish this platform was more intuitive. it would be great if there was an offline feature for when there is no internet connection. We had lots of issues with ad copy not going live when it was enw due to errors we were never informed of in the activity log. Not to mention the capabilities with Gemini are subpar.

This is a pretty good platform if you don't have a mega huge client with huge eCommerce business. Errors can and will occur and it's not alway intuitive how to resolve the errors in time for you to catch them.

This helps a ton when we need to schedule certain actions, bulk upload across publishers and account, and when we are trying to create cross client reports. We would not be as efficient without this system,

"Love it!!!"

What do you like best?

The socialmoov ads creation tool is excellent! The targeting options are all-encompassing and the team is very responsive and helpful!

What do you dislike?

So far there is nothing that I dislike, whenever issues come up the team is quick to help solve them for us.

Recommendations to others considering the product

The team is very helpful and works quickly to address any problems or concerns. We've worked closely with the team to improve the platform to fit our everyday needs and work best for our company. Well worth the money, saves us time and is very user-friendly. We are happy with this product and find that it is much more efficient than just simply using power editor alone, which can be a nightmare. I recommend that you voice any concerns because they will do what they can to make it work for you!

We are creating faster, better ads than we could through Power Editor on Facebook. We are reaching better qualified prospects and achieving better results with ease!

"Good, but can be Better"

What do you like best?

Flexibility in managing different publishers at one place.

Easy Campaign management and Optimizatiion

The Speed and the Loading issues should be fixed

Downloading the reports take a lot of time

The uploading is quick but with too many users using the interface at the same time there are chances of our uploads to be posted going to the bottom and with this there are chances users might miss posting few uploads

With all the users on the same interface, there are high chances other users might post our updates or uploads

With different time zones it's difficult to cross check the change history on the publisher platform and Marin

Infact checking change history is a problem as the change history can be viewed only under admin option and not at campaign level.

If campaign level column/filtering is possible at admin level instead of only description it'd be of great help.

OR inclusion of campaign names in the description for all type of changes it should solve the problem of manual checking

Sometimes its difficult to filter user names to figure out the changes made as system posts the uploads or changes and it shows 'system' under user which becomes difficult for one to see who actually made the changes... More columns or filtering options should be added under the activity log so that a user can get the required details as quickly as possible while currently is very very time taking process

Recently got to know that a Publishers Affinitly campaigns data doesnt show up on Marin which should be fixed too as it's becomes a problem while reporting and one has to end up downloading the data from different consoles and map it back to get the performance details

Definitely a Good software with some glitches though. But is there any tool that is flawless!??! :)

"Great time saving benefits for managing cross publisher accounts"

What do you like best?

Having visibility of key PPC metrics and conversion data for multiple platforms is the key benefit for me. This allows the team to quickly and easily highlight any areas requiring attention. Bulk editing is another benefit and the ability to edit straight from a report and upload changes saves a lot of time.

What do you dislike?

Interface is very dated and some things are difficult to find. You cannot currently segment by device as you can in Google Adwords and Bing ads which is frustrating and when in Devices tab, you cannot compare stats against prior / custom period - the view builder does not provide this option as it does in standard views.

Intraday bidding is a feature we have been waiting for but this keeps getting pushed back - we do not feel that checking / changing bids once a day is sufficient.

Main benefits include the single interface for cross channel / publisher accounts; bulk edits; conversions by device; ability to upload offline data; report builder; bid overrides; bid to position options.

"PPC made simple - Marin includes metrics I can't even find in AdWords"

What do you like best?

I like how user-friendly and customizable it is. I've used APIs in the past that lack thorough metrics or make it necessary to pull some data from system X, some from Y, some from Z. Everything I need is in Marin and pulling the right levers is really, really easy. Very seamless.

What do you dislike?

I feel like the Dimensions and Bidding tabs could use some tweaking, but only minor tweaks. These are also admittedly two areas that I'm still getting to know in the system, so it could be me just learning them a bit more slowly than other areas in the system.

If you're on the fence because it seems costly, consider that you get what you pay for. Their system is easy to use and the support and resources they make available to users is very comprehensive and useful.

I'm easily able to modify columns and date ranges, thus pulling highly-specific, impactful data is very simple. I like how simple the bulk upload tool is as well. For someone who hates AdWords editor, your bulk upload tool is a dream. I also like the marin tracking codes that allow us to track different variables (new customer, new product, returning customer, etc).

What do you like best?

I use Marin on a daily basis! It's easy to schedule ad copy changes and I find the dimensions really helpful. The help articles are great too and I've used their live chat system several times if I can't find the answer in the articles.

What do you dislike?

At times, Marin can be extremely slow when loading what I need in the UI or when I'm running a report. Also, there are some glitches were I've scheduled ad copy to pause/run and it hasn't worked. I wish the headings when uploading keywords, ad copy etc. exactly matched what's in AdWords Editor or Bing as well.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I would choose Marin if you can't use DoubleClick for some reason. Both have similar features, but I find DoubleClick easier to use. Marin however does let you implement DCM tracking so you could use a combination.

The dimensions helped us label different pieces of ad copy so we could quickly make changes for Black Friday and Cyber Monday promotions. We also used ad scheduling to ensure the right copy paused and enabled. The bid rules also helped us ensure that our top priority keywords remained in position 1 during our holiday promos.

What do you like best?

It's great that we can view all platforms in one central location, and even better that we can "draft" changes before pushing them out to go live. Having the ability to review your changes is absolutely necessary.

What do you dislike?

I wish the filtering abilities were a bit more robust, in terms of being able to drill down and isolate certain ad groups or keywords in a quick and efficient manner. For example, for Search, if I'm at the campaign level and decide I want to drill down to the ad group level, all the filters reset. I'd like the ability to keep those filters enabled if I want. Additionally, the ability to add more than one filter per column.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I run search advertising for my accounts, helping to drive traffic to their website and grow their business. In terms of benefits, working with a central management platform unlocks certain efficiencies that allow me to focus on deeper problems. There are obvious challenges to working on larger accounts, but Marin has been a very useful tool in centralizing my workflow. Perhaps the most important benefit is the ability to quickly and efficiently analyze large amounts of data.

"Easy to use with tons of amazing benefits! "

What do you like best?

It's great to have everything in one place without having to go back and forth from different platforms. They have a wonderful customer service team that is always very easy to get a hold of and answers any question proficiently. I feel like since our accounts have been running through Marin they have continued to perform better and give us the tools to grow our campaigns.

What do you dislike?

I dislike how some of the features don't work. For instance - I set the budget in Admin>Budget on the Pro platform and had no understanding that it didn't do anything so. That was a hard $10,000 lesson.

It is a good product that can be very beneficial to your SEM strategy. Be sure to go through all of the training and talk to your account rep often as they can provide a lot of insight into the efficiency of your campaigns.

What do you like best?

Personally, the reporting and filtering capabilities. Editable dimensions make it easy to customize reporting, filter and create views and even to schedule creatives which is used almost daily. Each tab and corresponding edit features are very intuitive and straightforward, allowing for clean usability,

What do you dislike?

The time lag for certain processes and reporting downloads is the biggest sore spot. If reports are downloading data sets longer than 6 months it can take hours to download. Most often this issue is seen for creative downloads. On a similar note, there has also been issues with scheduled actions not adhering for unknown reasons.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Business problems include quickly implementing frequent promotional ad copy, sharing client reporting, ability to look at data at a portfolio level through all client portal and easy bid changes on the keyword level. Benefits include have all portfolio clients in one space to quickly identify where and how to optimize accordingly.

"Marin Software User for 2 Years"

What do you like best?

There was a lot to like about Marin. Some examples would include the interface and ease of use. I was able to use multiple accounts and sync them in together to pull my data.

What do you dislike?

The only thing I disliked was the loading and wait time for the reports to populate. Sometime it took a while for them to populate and load before downloading. A lot of times it took upwards of 25 minutes for each report to finish, then we still had to download the report, which took some time as well. Also, I did receive some errors while trying to create reports.

It helped our agency manage one of our biggest clients easily by pulling in data across different platforms into one dashboard. We utilized Google Awords and Bing Ads all in one. That was very beneficial to us and a time saver to say the least. Plus the conversion tracking was great. It let use track multiple conversion in one interface.

"Good Platform That Is Very User Friendly"

What do you like best?

The platform is very user friendly. It takes a few minutes to work your way around but everything is pretty intuitive. The customer service/support and help section are very helpful and makes using the tool easy. The URL builder is easy to use and it is easy and straight forward to perform bulk operations. The automated bidding folders are great too.

What do you dislike?

The automated bidding folders based on performance aren't always the best. It seems to be a hit or miss depending on the account you are running.

Google Shopping isn't the best on Marin. Other platforms have better capabilities/features.

We are working on being as efficient as possible. The marin pixel is great to help segment out by conversion type and make sure we are focusing on optimizing towards the proper goals. Marin helps to make it easy to manage multiple accounts at once and to make sure we are efficient.

"Excellent Customer Service"

What do you like best?

We have bi-weekly calls with our Marin rep who updates us and helps us resolve any current issues. They are always willing to help and responds to requests in a timely manner. Our team saves so much time with Marin's bidding rules and cross channel view-ability. Our reps also make an effort to come to our office in person whenever they can. It is really nice to have a face to a name and get in-person updates.

What do you dislike?

We had a huge issues with the URL update earlier in 2016. Almost all accounts had issues or incorrect updates. A high monthly fee. Convincing client's the importance of Marin because of the high fee. We have had a few issues with invoices being incorrect, but they were easily resolved once brought to our reps attention.

Simplifying workflow across multiple search engines. Making text ad, bidding rules, and keyword changes in one platform is extremely helpful.

"Marin is extremely helpful in analyzing the trends of my pay-per-click advertising campaigns."

What do you like best?

Marin is very user friendly, which makes it my go to when I need to pull any kind of information for any of my accounts. Also, it gives me the ability to find any and all information I should need: revenue, cost, cost per click, conversions, cost per conversion, etc. The amount of data and information seems never-ending, and it's been insightful in my attempts to grow my accounts.

"I use Marin for certian things, but not everything"

What do you like best?

I personally like the easy to use interface, bidding rules, sync set up and interestingly enough, bulk operations. Of all the platforms I use, Marin makes it easy to manage a large amount of ads with quick report bulls and easy appends.

What do you dislike?

I don't like the cluttered interface, as it makes it hard to find certain things. I also don't like how you have to manually sync things, as new campaigns can sometimes be missed. It also does not go well with Bing.

Sometimes data is slow to update, which also hinders client reporting, but data is usually resolved within 24 hours.

Ensure any conversion/data partnerships feed into Marin.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Bid optimization at a large scale and trying to reach a very tight ROI/ROAS goal. While some of the bidding updates have helped, many also limit the scale of campaigns. I would just consider Marin, but be aware of the personal touch that is still needed.

Additionally, the team is supportive with new conversion types, partners (including Omniture) and we've seen strong success (and time savings) scaling to Marin Social and housing all Biddable activity in one place.

"Great tool that is built with users in mind"

What do you like best?

The ability to manipulate the views allows us to see multiple angles within our accounts, helping us to determine strong & well-founded strategies to help drive efficient traffic. Automated bid rules allow for additional 'levers and buttons' to push in campaign optimization.

Uploads are easily done, and when there is an error, it is often clear as to what the issue is making it easy to make corrections. The ad scheduling piece is also helpful, and very easy to use.

Marin is constantly updating their platform, allowing advertisers to keep up with changing trends and manage their campaigns effectively.

What do you dislike?

When adjusting filters within the tool, for example on the keyword or campaign tab, it would be helpful to make all changes at once; rather than one at a time with sometimes longer wait times in between. Issues with scheduling occasionally arise, making it hard to launch creatives as intended.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Utilize the dimensions options to help with reporting. They allow easy tagging and organization of given initiatives and accounts, and allow for easy filtering to see the desired data.

"Excellent bid management solution"

What do you like best?

The user interface is intuitive and clearly presents all the metrics that matter. The Marin system works 24/7 for us and is constantly testing and adjusting keyword bids to ensure we're achieving a healthy ROI.

What do you dislike?

The system meets our needs and it is difficult to say I dislike anything about it. The Google to Bing sync feature in Marin is a little glitchy, but other than that the system works fine for us.

By using Marin we're ensuring that we do not burn through our search advertising budget, manual bidding can only take you so far and automated rules/bid strategies in Google work in some scenarios, but not all.

What do you like best?

I like how you can get granular data on the site link level. I also like how you can automatically sync the data you insert with the engine and not have to wait overnight.

What do you dislike?

I dislike how you can not see real time data, an example is present days data. I also do not like the lag when downloading an ample amount of data. Another issue is uploading bulk sheets- the errors are sometimes unclear and should be resolved through the platform.

There are not many benefits of Marin compared to double click. But it is certainly much better than adobe media optimizer.

What do you like best?

Marin is the way to go for cross search engine bidding. We really loved the functionality and the capabilities of the platform. Very user friendly and multiple users were two of the biggest plusses we found. You also did not have to do a lot of digging around to find things like attribution, tagging, etc.

What do you dislike?

The price is the biggest negative (duh). Yes, you pay for what you get but after a while the ROI and Cost/Client made the decision very easy to move in a different direction.

"Really strong tool and great service!"

What do you like best?

The service provided by Marin CEMs is second to none - from in-person meetings to screensharing or calls, the support team is always willing and able to assist. Small issues are dealt with promptly, while larger or complicated issues are handled by team members who really understand the software and Search/Display/Social advertising.

What do you dislike?

Some of the functionality around AdWords Extensions can be a bit clunky at times, but this is being addressed in coming feature updates.

If you manage a large number of accounts, or accounts that require conversion tracking, attribution modelling, or remarketing across search/display/social, Marin is the ideal tool. The support you receive is second to none, and the capabilities of the software is level if not ahead of the rest of the market.

"I LOVE Marin"

What do you like best?

Marin is really good for gather back in data to optimize with. I like that they have automatic mobile bid modifiers because our business REALLY depends on mobile and phone calls. The team is helpful and it pretty smooth integration!

What do you dislike?

Their platform can use a bit of a facelift.....but I heard they are working on.

For the most part, we were doing everything in spreedsheets which took me SOOO long. I just couldnt act fast enough to trends. As a search manager, I am also monitoring 5000 different things. So the sytem really helps to automate what I do on a dily.

"Not intuitive and bad customer service"

What do you like best?

At first I liked the auto-tagging features we were able to use. It allowed us to assign custom IDs to the URLs for better tracking in Omniture and Salesforce. The bid/budget management system was not bad but Kenshoo's KPO product is better.

What do you dislike?

They messed up the Google URL builder migration and broke all our URLs. When we asked them to fix this, they refused and our PPC account was off-line for more then 3 days. They also over-promised on the sales pitch, yet were not able to release certain functionality.

Recommendations to others considering the product

They haven't updated the product in quite some time and their stock is struggling. Go with a company that is growing and actually investing in R&D and strategic enhancements to their product. Marin was sorely lacking and it was clear that we had out-grown the product.

"Amazing Platform"

What do you like best?

The platform is amazing and you learn how to use it really quickly. The bid automation and rules that you can use are incredibly powerful and are a real time saver. Our account team is very hands on and goes out of there way to make sure we succeed. Every time we have contacted someone from Marin for support they have been very knowledgeable about the product and made sure we were completely satisfied with the solution. My favorite feature is easily the web query reports. Very underrated but if you use any other analytics platform you will sorely miss having that option.

What do you dislike?

The new SmartGrid view seems like it will be very powerful, but it isn't there yet. There are a couple of glitches in it still and the learning curve is a little steeper than the rest of the platform. Also a little issue when you have more than one account profile linked to the same user. Nothing major though.

You will not find a better product or as helpful support staff anywhere else.

Maximizing our ROAS on a limited ad budget. The automated rules allow us to set up our goals as we see fit and allow the bidding tool do most of the heavy lifting. "Organize all SEM data in one place!"

What do you like best?

I appreciate that I am able to look at all Bing & Google conversions & cost data in one view. I also use the dimensions for almost every client. We can create custom dimensions and reports for our clients using this feature. The bidding folders also help us optimize our accounts and help our clients make the best decisions about their paid search practice.

I dislike how it can sometimes take a while to load the pages for large clients.

What do you like best?

It was fairly easy to create a report and pull the data into excel.

What do you dislike?

When creating a report template- I had trouble with the data sorting. It wasn't sorting by "descending" for some reason. To me, it seems like sometimes a setting doesn't change right away.

What do you like best?

I like how I have easy access into looking into all of my accounts and campaigns and being able to analyze performance and on-site engagement for select date ranges.

What do you dislike?

Ever since the Google URL upgrade, it has been a lot more difficult to ensure that everything is being tagged properly and labeled/synced correctly compared to what it was before.

Marin is easy to use and makes it very simple to look at both Google and Bing engines for campaigns and how overall performance looks for a specific time frame. I would recommend Marin to someone who needs information quickly about your campaigns because of its friendly interface and ease of use.

I appreciate cross vendor and cross account filtering of account units. Finding similar elements through multiple accounts helps build arguments about trends about the product and specific niche elements.

Customer service has diminished through time. If felt like our value was not a priority. Perhaps downsizing impacted the company too negatively.

Tracking was our biggest problem matching internal tracking to Marins vednor API feeds. They never matched up which is a problem. Consider this when deciding if this vendor can scale in the long term with your company if the short term data parity is not achieved.

What do you like best?

Transparent system which always gets you a fast overview of your current performance in detail. Helpful graphics/interface/summaries (pie chart). Deepdive into certain performance is easy doable. Support section is fine. Articles could be share more deeper infos. Chat support is a big advantage, people are fast on point

What do you dislike?

System is way too slow after reaching certain amount of keywords. It should be able to work propper with high keyword volume ( 5 Mio. +) like it does with less. Linking new accounts section almost never works without errors. Too complex URL builder section. Not easy to handle for marketers. Strong programmic knowledge needed. Reporting section is ok. It does look good, but could be easier/more intuitive to handle.

"Best Bid Platform Available"

What do you like best?

Marin has the most intuitive interface of all the top bid platforms. Tasks that take 4-5 steps in other platforms take 1-2 steps in Marin. Reporting is also second to none.

What do you dislike?

My company can't fully adopt Marin because we often service both search and display through various DSPs for our clients. We run both search and display through Doubleclick because it gives us the ability to dedupe viewthrough conversions between search and display, allowing for correct attribution. As far as we know, marin will not allow us to dedupe so we would be reporting inflated conversions to our clients.

Onboarding can be a little difficult so doing more work on your end to have a good understanding of tracking will go a long way in the process. Also, if you can't solve the problems yourself, its good to have someone that has the proper knowledge work directly with the Marin team to make things go smoothly.

Marin is more efficient so the time savings alone are worth more than the marin fees every month. We can take on more clients with the same staff without reducing our quality of work.

"Best in the business"

What do you like best?

The customer support we receive is great. And the ability to use the web connector to pull data out and refresh directly into excel? PERFECT. Limits the need for unnecessary time spent pulling data or building into the API. The automated bidding and pulling in both Bing and AdWords makes campaign management a breeze compared to competitor tools.

What do you dislike?

Interface online takes some getting used to - but once you know it, it's a breeze.

IMHO, better than Kenshoo, easier to implement. If you're in the DoubleClick stack, DS might be better for you - but Marin still best in the biz.

"The training is very helpful in learning your way around!"

What do you like best?

Managing many campaigns in one unified platform that prioritizes updates that align with industry changes is very helpful and convenient!

What do you dislike?

Some large reports lag and will fail to pull several times before finally working. Also, the system doesn't always prompt you that the report you are pulling maxes out on the lines it will pull or even is too large or has too many fields for a particular format and you find out after you've already downloaded and attempt to open in Excel either by Excel's prompts or by realizing you're missing data and somehow always have a max of 'x' lines.

Work with the support team to walk through how implementation and tracking work and explore the system. You will see how helpful and thorough they are. Then, follow up with automated and recorded training webinars and poke around, you will be happy you did!

We are using Marin to capture the full conversion cycle for a large, nationwide client. We are able to capture the order IDs and Unique User IDs (UUIDs) that the client needs on their end in order to attribute conversions across many devices back to the source.

"Organization is the key to our success"

What do you like best?

Marin makes it easy for us to keep our robust structure organized. This organization helps us optimize at every level, bids, ads, new keywords, negative keywords and more. The user friendly interface makes on the fly analytics a dream. The ability to set up automated alerts and reports makes it easy to stay ahead of campaign monitoring. Marin makes it simple to build out new campaigns and make mass changes with the bulk sheet functionality.

What do you dislike?

It takes quite a bit of history for the bidding algorithm to work properly. Once a broad match keyword converts, we like to make a new exact match keyword. Marin doesn't see that keyword with a conversion so bidding starts from scratch. It's not a deal breaker, but it does add an element of complexity.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make sure your account is structured properly before implementing Marin. Bucket your keywords into meaningful campaigns. Nothing should be named "Top Keywords 2011". Match your products features, benefits, or clear sections when coming up with campaigns.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are trying to drive more qualified leads through paid search while simultaneously trying to drive our cost per lead down. Marin makes it possible to track, analyze, and optimize a large volume of keywords and ads. I can easily answer complex questions from my superiors in a matter of clicks and comparing Bing to Google is easy with Marin. We are planning to run tons of A/B tests and Marin's tagging feature is going to help us stay organized.

"One of the best bid management tool you can utilize for you all your search engine needs. "

What do you like best?

What I like the best for Marin's bid management tool are the Bidding folders that you have set per your goals.

You can segment these out per each of the search engine you have to management. For example if you different ROAS goals for Google and Bing. You will have these in a different bidding folder with different ROAS or what margin did you want to reach.

The bidding folders are basically the safety precaution to keep your keywords or adgroups in your campaigns in check in any case that it falls off from your goals.

What do you dislike?

The only thing is that sometimes the UI can be really laggy and slow. which can effect your work flow during the optimization.

Think about the columns you need to have per report if Marin software is going to be part of your reporting deck or monthly report.

Marin is an enterprise software and it can be pricey however its well the worth the money. This software keeps everything on the right path to keep your ROI or ROAS goals in the right direction.

"Next Level SEM"

What do you like best?

Marin makes it easy to make large scale account changes in a simple and straightforward way via bulk uploads and multiedits. The support provided by Marin has been the best of any partner that I have worked with. The support center has specific and comprehensive solutions to nearly every problem you encounter. If you need additional help, the support staff are willing to take the time to help with any query, big or small.

What do you dislike?

We're looking forward to having an integrated platform for all of the publishers that Marin works with. We've run into some inconveniences with having SocialMoov separate from the Marin platform. It has lacked the same simplicity and user friendliness that we see in the search platform.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Complete the Marin University courses and don't be afraid to ask for help. The account managers and support staff are nice and really helpful.

"Excellent PPC Management Platform with Great Customer Support"

What do you like best?

Marin is a fantastic platform for managing all of our PPC campaigns. The bidding algorithm, keyword builder tool and customized alerts have been incredibly useful and really help our team save time on PPC management. We've been able to optimize our campaigns and make the most our our budget thanks to Marin.

I also think a big part of what makes Marin so great is their top notch customer service team. The fact that we have an assigned rep that is easy to get in touch with vs. having to go through a call center or an automated system has proved invaluable.

What do you dislike?

I wish Marin worked better for display ads. The bidding algorithm doesn't work very well in this case and they need to update the display ad builder to work with animated ads. Marin also needs to quickly adapt to the new features that Google has been rolling out such as call only ads. It defeats the purpose of using a PPC management platform when you can't perform certain function within the platform.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Marin is a great platform for a person that is well versed in paid search marketing and looking to cut down the amount of time spent tweaking campaigns across marketing channels. I would not recommend this for someone that is just starting to use paid search for their business as it does take time to figure the system out and it's not ideal for building campaigns from the ground up. If you're tired of duplicating your efforts on every paid search channel and are looking to optimize your paid search budget, this is the tool for you.

One of the biggest problems we had before Marin was being able to dedicate enough time to properly manage our PPC campaigns. Marin has allowed us to drastically reduce the amount of time spent across the board by pushing changes across ppc channels. It's also incredibly helpful to be able to easily filter keywords across channels to gauge performance and make quick changes as needed. Also the bidding algorithm has helped us better optimize our campaigns and increase conversions while staying within our budget.

"A Powerful SEM Tool with World Class Customer Service"

What do you like best?

To be honest, initially I found Marin a little daunting. It was the first time I'd used a platform of this type and the tool seemed like it would have a steep learning curve. Turns out my apprehension was totally unfounded. The UI (despite looking a little clunky) is actually quite user-friendly and easy to use, and the learning curve is accommodating for both SEM newbies and vets.

What I liked best, however, was the customer support. Our rep, Jeff, provided training that was simple, informative and got our team up to speed incredibly fast (honestly, other tech companies could take a lesson from Marin's training). Marin staff also answered all of our emails within minutes and were always free to jump on the phone to walk us through a question. A tool like Marin is only good as the individual using it, and Marin made a huge effort to ensure our team was as comfortable as possible so we could get the most value out of the platform. In fact, one big recommendation I have is to user their Workflow Guide, which I found quite helpful for walking me through some recommended actions on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

I also absolutely love the View Builder feature, which allows you to get quick, high-level views on campaign performance (something that's a bit more difficult to do in AdWords). The reporting and alerts features are also amazing, letting you stay up to date to sudden changes without having to dig through a large amount of data.

While the campaign management features of Marin are phenomenal, the real value of the tool is in its Bidding elements. My agency was a little skeptical about Marin's boast of improving conversions by 20%, but that's exactly what we found for the first client we ran through bidding. Conversions increased and CPL went down. It was honestly as simple as that (we even went into AdWords to confirm that the numbers were right, since we couldn't believe how effective the bidding algorithm was).

What do you dislike?

My biggest complaint is with Marin's calendar tool. It's a bit clunky to use and I initially found it difficult to tell which dates I was drawing data from (once you get used to it, it's not too bad, but definitely something that could have been improved). I also found that the reporting setup could be a little buggy from time to time (I actually had to file a ticket at one point with Marin's IT team, but the issue was resolved quickly).

In general though, there's very little to dislike with the platform and most of my complaints are minor gripes at most. It's an incredibly powerful tool.

Highly recommended for SEM management and optimization.

We really wanted two things out of Marin: to be able to manage our Search and Display campaigns more effectively (in both Google and Bing) and to be able to improve conversion rates.

"Good Software for Detailed Reports, Tough Tracking Validation"

What do you like best?

The customization that the site allows, the report feature offers tons of pre-populated reporting parameters, while also offering a customized feature. This allows you to get a macro and micro look at all data points.

What do you dislike?

The tracking through the Marin pixel has been problematic. Automatic settings (such as total conversions vs. unique conversions) can skew data, and the interface looks slightly outdated.

Reporting and keyword bidding are our best solutions from Marin, plus having a common system that can provide a level of detail that both the agency and client require for reporting and implementation.

"Marin has streamlined our Client Accounts adding efficiency to our process."

What do you like best?

Pulling in all our search engine accounts into one tool and having the ability to manage complex accounts in one window. Accessing performance metrics in a single report has been a boon to productivity. Using the view builder, and alerts to help keep the team informed when conditions change. The foldered bidding has helped us build efficient, consistent performance.

What do you dislike?

Most of my dislikes would center around missing features or "Wish List" items. The nature of our client accounts make adding a "Budget Goal" capability to Custom Columns to help track how campaigns are pacing against the business goals.

Less complex than other similar platforms, great customer support. With many tools doing similar things with similar success, something like Customer Support becomes a key differentiator.

"Cutting Edge, Very Helpful"

What do you like best?

I appreciate the support I receive from the support staff. Now I know this isn't technically part of the product but it is something that goes under appreciated in most places. They've been extremely on top of things and knowledgable.

What do you dislike?

At first looking through their vast knowledge base it was a bit overwhelming to find the docs I needed to integrate Marin into our product / service funnel. Some clear 'getting started' posts would have been awesome. Luckily the support staff was there to save the day.

Getting on board is a no brainer. The benefits Marin offers to paid search is invaluable. Make sure to have some support staff nearby at the beginning.

"Stellar Bid Management, Reporting and Channel Consolidation Platform"

What do you like best?

We really like the bid management features. Marin allows us to consolidate many advertising channels into one platform, which then allows us to easily run reports that encompass everything our clients are doing. We're also using Marin for retargeting (through their Perfect Audience acquisition) and social media (through their SocialMoov acquisition). VERY happy with both platforms. The Marin Display piece is giving us better results than another platform we were using, and Marin Social makes managing social campaigns a breeze. And the support and training we get from our account team is great!

What do you dislike?

Some of the setup can be difficult, particularly with bidding. There are SO MANY settings and check boxes, it gets really confusing. Thankfully, Marin's awesome support team is there to walk us through the settings for individual clients and proof anything we've done without their help. I can't say enough good things about the level of support we've been getting with our current team!

Use your account team! They are invaluable for training and support.

"A beginners review of Marin"

What do you like best?

The clear and similar look of the Adwords interface (different colours I know but still). This makes it easy to get started and gives a feeling familiarity to those that maybe are used to just using Adwords. Also the reporting features are great!

What do you dislike?

The naming convention is a bit weird, i.e. ad groups are groups, ads are creatives etc. I do not really understand why the naming of things is different because these things comes from Adwords primarily. Do not see the point of using own namings.

Enables automatic keyword and ad updates based on inventory information. Very good reporting as well.

"Easy to use platform"

What do you like best?

I like best that Marin have a live chat and whenever I have a question, they help me straight away. Another thing I like about the platform is that it's easy to navigate, analyse performance and make changes real quick.

What do you dislike?

I don't like that sometimes it gets slow, especially when downloading reports. But this hasn't happened lately to be honest.

Main benefit is that it's a third party tracker, which also offers almost all new features very soon after AdWords or Bing introduce them.

The UI. The interface makes sorting data across engines easy and straightforward, without unnecessary clutter.

Pacing and URL options. There is not true pacing tool that will ensure appropriate spend. Also, URL builder and the many URL columns make tracking data through different platforms more complex than it needs to be.

Helpful reporting tool in gather data from numerous points (engines, networks, etc.). Also, the use of folders and dimensions have aided in not only ease of reporting but implementing changes at scale.

"Horrible Bait n Switch"

What do you like best?

There was nothing we really liked best with Marin.

What do you dislike?

Our company experience with Marin has been nothing but horrible. Their team verbally informed us that certain platforms would be included in our purchase only to later find they never included them in the contract. They then continued to bill us for months even though we promptly advised them to discontinue our free trial period.

Now they are threatening to send it to collections for something we have never used or agreed to. Will continue our fight with Marin as their business conduct is outright deplorable.

"Room For Improvement"

What do you like best?

That I am able to manage all my accounts and publishers through one service. Instead of individually having to go into Google, Bing & Yahoo, I can make adjustments at one place for all of them.

What do you dislike?

It's not always consistent. We are typically finding errors within the process of tagging, uploading & scheduling ads. Also, there customer service isn't as helpful compared to Google & Bing's. They are also not fully equipped with Expanded Text Ads yet either.

The business problems that I am solving are creating multiple edits and optimizations to my accounts at one place. This helps us have a better consistency across the board and save time.

"Needs improvement"

What do you like best?

The platform is simple to use and easy to navigate.

It seems to be lacking features of other platforms. Lack timely updates and poor customer service.

Customer support needs to be improved from a CS perspective as well as dedicated agent. Took more than a week and numerous emails to resolve an issue that was fixed immediately when i got the right person. Dedicated rep lacks communication with us and does not provide adequate training on the platform. All training thus far is through webinars but no in person interaction.

None. It's primarily a reporting platform. Hasn't benefited us as a tool to make bulk changes or reach ROI goal.

What do you like best?

Marin has done a great job at hitting our ROI targets. There are a lot of useful features within the app that allow you to customize your spend during seasonal peaks.

I think the dashboard can be a little more customizable.

"Does Not Meet Expectations"

What do you like best?

I liked how easy it was to onboard. The account manager was very friendly and helpful, as was the entire support staff as well. They were the silver lining of this experience.

What do you dislike?

We were told this software would be able to auto-adjust bids hourly at the keyword level, based on conversion goals and data. However, this was not the case. The bidding tool they do have can only do so at the ad group level (similar to Adwords). This means your 5-25 keywords are all set to the same bid, regardless of competition, historical data, match type, or quality score!!!

Stay away if they say they can do something other softwares can't. Unless it's written in the contract.

"Marin is great!"

What do you like best?

I like that Marin is user-friendly as it's designed to be very intuitive. It allows me to manage multiple accounts easily at large and granular levels. I like that you can edit web queries. Uploading files and making changes in bulk is painless. The save view function is great. Allowing multiple users to make changes within the platform is great.

What do you dislike?

I wish there were different integration opportunities available with other programs. I don't like that naming conventions do not match publisher naming conventions. For example, if I were to be referencing a location report from Google and compare it to Marin, I'd have to adjust the naming structures from Google to match Marin so that I could upload changes. It would be nice if we could see things like coverage numbers from Google in Marin as well so it would all be a centralized place for everything.

Through Marin, we're able to manage multiple accounts with similar, or same, KPI goals. In order to achieve these goals, we can make really granular changes through Marin for multiple accounts versus having to address each account individually. Because our workload is so great, it's nice that we're able to utilize different functions within Marin to make our job easier/faster. I've realized that Marin is a great benefit when having to look at the big and small picture for multiple accounts.

"My Review"

What do you like best?

I really like the fact that it pulls in all of the engines' information into one platform so that I can pull data more quickly than going into each individual engine. I also like the automated reports that we can create so that we don't have to re-create things each month/quarter etc. when we have to pull the same data for a new time period. Finally, I like the dimensions a lot, it allows us to keep track of our most important keywords, as well as making copy swaps easier for things like promos.

What do you dislike?

I don't like the fact that each column can only be filtered one way. Sometimes I need to see a campaign that contains 'X' but doesn't contain 'Y', and I'm not able to do that. I also don't like the fact that I haven't figured out how to get complete data from Yahoo Gemini imported into Marin.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Allow easier integration of Yahoo Gemini, and allow columns to be filtered to more than one criteria.

We pull data on a daily, quarterly, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. It's very helpful to have the templates created, so I only have to pull for the relevant time period. Also, copy swaps and uploads have been streamlined by using Marin.

"Been Using Marin for Over Two Years Now!"

What do you like best?

We love working closely with their team to troubleshoot issues, understand new capabilities, and best utilize the platform for performance gains! Overall, the user interface is fantastic - easy to understand and navigate. Working with their technical teams to ingest 1st party, client data has been wonderful and a great partnership. We rely heavily on them to talk technical specs with our clients teams.

What do you dislike?

We do often have a difficult time processing jobs / bulk edits accurately or fully. IN this case we rely heavily on support and our reps to work us through the issues. We find bugs often in the system that require additional attention. The social interface has some work to do to be up to par with search. Being able to streamline reporting from both channels from one - predictable format would be ideal. Right now we rely more heavily on the platforms and ad servers to report in a more automated manner.

Keep working on building out your social reporting in Marin. Streamlining reporting and automation will be key for us to grow our social business!

We are trying to grow the business of our clients, optimizing towards the most high value actions. We have done so with Search but are still working to do this for Social. Aggregation of data has been a huge benefit over working within 2 platforms. Setting bidding folders to optimize toward high value actions, sales or leads, has helped us grow spend levels. As an agency having one unified platform has created efficiencies across our performance advertising teams for management and execution.

"So Much Data! So Little Time!"

What do you like best?

Marin allows me to see performance at both the macro and micro level. If I need a report for upper management, I can easily pull out a summary. Or, if I need to get into the trenches, I can see details on every aspect of our campaigns.

What do you dislike?

I am short staffed - it is sometimes difficult to pull out an upper level report that makes sense to lay-people. Fortunately, I can automate the data, but I'd still like to have the report be a bit more intuitive.

"New Marin User"

What do you like best?

The bid optimization and A/B testing are my favorite features. It gives you a tremendous amount of control over your ad placement and how your budget is allocated.

What do you dislike?

The system is a little more complicated than I expected. their support teat is very helpful and they have a ton of resources, but I expected to be able to jump in running, and that has not been the case.

Do the Marin certification, even if you are an experienced adwords user.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It is helping me do more for my clients in less time. The A/B testing is not something you can do through the native google platform so it is an additional advantage.

"Marin Review"

What do you like best?

Reporting tools make pulling reports easy and very customized. KPI tracking is very detailed, and allows me to see how different campaigns are performing on each KPI and pull a detailed report for the same. The user interface is very easy to navigate. I like that is easy to compare campaign performance across different platforms and customize the reports.

What do you dislike?

Data doesn't always match with what I see on the Google interface. Scheduling the ads is not as reliable through Marin as it is through Google and Bing. Usually I use Bing and Google to schedule ads. No way to track YouTube and Display with Google search performance. The platform can be a little difficult to figure out for new users, more tutorial videos would be helpful.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Paid search across google, bing and shopping. It is easy to compare how each platform is performing and to optimize the campaigns. The reporting functions are very easy to use and extremely customizable which allows for better budget planning and optimization.

"Great Customer Service - Limited Updates"

What do you like best?

Marin gives users the ability to bring lots of data points together into one comprehensive platform to be able to quickly make modifications across multiple publishers saving me lots of time and money! I love the way I can optimize and analyze all in the same tool. I like the way I can see what is happening across multiple publishers and it includes PPC, Display and Social channels which is a plus!

What do you dislike?

Ever since the new URL builder thing happen with Google forcing publishers to use FINAL URL the Marin platform has not been fully functioning and the simple little edits like updating creative and URL's has to be done in bulk in order to append the landing pages and that is a bit frustrating. Once the smart-grid is setup properly to allow users to make faster edits I think the platform will be even better.

It would be nice to have updates more quickly available with additional support tools and FAQs

"Provided Us an Incredible Improvement in Ways of Working and Overall Efficiency"

What do you like best?

Not only was the platform user friendly in my opinion, but it was also in depth with endless insights and ways to slice and dice the data. I've used other platforms in the past, and Marin is by far the gold standard. In fact, I suggested, led, and finalized the implementation of Marin for a company I worked for, which had been using a severely inefficient system. Another thing that always impressed be was the lack of bugs Marin experienced. I can't think of a single time where the system was down, not working, etc. For such advanced tech software, this is usually unheard of.

What do you dislike?

To be honest, there has never been a time where I've thought to myself "I really dislike this aspect of Marin." I can't think of anything I've really disliked or been unhappy with. If I had to come up with something I may have "struggled" with when using Marin, I guess the revenue uploads, as it took me a little while to get used to how it works, make sure it was being uploaded correctly, etc. But again, that definitely isn't something I "disliked". It was really the only part of the tool that I needed a little more assistance on at first. Thankfully, our reps are constantly on top of it, always responsive, and always willing to help train our employees.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I have used Marin software while working for many different types of industries and verticals, and each and every time my experience has been nothing but great. The support from reps is always great, ease of use is great, and the overall value gained is endless. The amount of time that resources can end up spending making/schedule ads, campaigns, etc., can be astronomical with other lower-quality tools. My previous company switched to Marin per my recommendation, and the amount of time spent on tactical PPC work was cut in half, if not more. My current company has been a Marin user for years and everyone continues to be happy with it.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Reveune tracking and overall conversion attribution (whether it be sales, leads, etc.) is key in any business, and unfortunately there are still so many companies that lacking that level of conversion tracking. Many companies put it off because they don't have the resources or are intimidated by the technical aspect of it and how much time it will take. I can say firsthand that using Marin was life changing in that respect. To be able to see the true path to conversion and the true value every ad, etc. played, finally helped us make the smartest digital business decisions possible and allowed us to see almost immediate improvements in results. I've used Marin at 3 companies I've worked, each different than the other, and no matter what the industry or how we've used Marin, the tool shows endless benefits.

"Customer Service is Wonderful"

What do you like best?

Marin's customer service collateral and expertise is top notch. The team over at marin were quick to respond to email and phone calls and where helpful in both setting up my campaign and also providing suggestions for improvement. The team providing information and insights for my client and the agency as a whole to pass along.

What do you dislike?

I do not like that Marin is not integrated into other platforms. It does not have a full stack that was easily accessible to use the product across all initiatives, all campaigns and all media channels.

Recommendations to others considering the product

The technology and staff are both headed in the right direction. Keep the technology strong and on top on competitors. Try to have more of a full funnel approach to media beyond search, the engineers in search are very strong. slightly on the expensive side in comparing it to some competitiors.

Their search abilities were easy to use. And, the analytics and reporting insights provided great benefit to my clients

"Agility and adaptability with complex clients"

What do you like best?

The performance of the platform, which is pretty fast and reliable. The customer care is great, with top professionals who, more than understand, many times teach us the needs of our business.

What do you dislike?

The extra complexity after the Google URL upgrade. It took a while to get used with the new requirements of the bulk upload options.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It's much more about the user side than Marin management side. You have to document clearly what you do to keep track of all variables and metrics that may be registered on the platform. It's easy to get lost when the account runs for a long time, so document internally everything that is configured there.

The management of highly complex AdWords Paid Search accounts. The platform saves us a lot of time.

What do you like best?

Bulk post creation and mass editing make it far quicker to build out multiple campaigns at once. Also our account support team are super helpful and always happy to share their thoughts and experiences in advising on social acquisition campaigns. I'd put this relationship as the main benefit of our partnership with Marin.

What do you dislike?

No major issues. Can be slow when moving between Media Plans / Ad Set / Advert levels.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Time-saving. As a team with one dedicated social manager it's been possible to be strategic as well as optimising day to day campaigns. Benefit has been we're able to test new formats and features whilst maintaining our main acquisition campaigns.

"By far the best bidding software we've ever used."

What do you like best?

We mostly use Marin to manage search campaigns - and we are in particular fond of their bidding tools. Marin uses advanced algorithms to adjust cpc-bids across our campaigns. This ensures more conversions at a better price.

What do you dislike?

We still have to log on to the Marin system and the AdWords system separately - it would be appreciated if we could use only one system. But there are still some features that we have to manage directly through the AdWords system.

Easy to use and second-to-none bidding tools.

The automated bidding tool in Marin takes care of adjusting the cpc-bids in a way that would take many hours of daily manual work. We could'nt deliver such great results for our clients without the help of Marin Software.

"Marin Takes The Pie"

What do you like best?

Love the advanced attribution settings for bidding on first-touch keywords. The reporting views are so fast and easy to drill down for deep-dive analysis. Can track across devices.

What do you dislike?

Could have better cpa bidding using first click conv & more flexible conversion type settings at folder level

You can create an artificially made attribution setting for cpa bidding using the roas settings. Also, try tracking offline conversions from phone calls via crm data dump!

We are able to dig into the heart of our adgroups to squeeze profitability from our efforts. Have seen significant long-tail kw growth & ability to track across devices with offline crm data uploads.

What do you like best?

User friendly and can do changes to account in scale. It's good to have all the account at one place and do changes to account at one go.

What do you dislike?

The customer support service can be improved where the lead time is very high even takes a week to respond to a raised query.

Whoever need a more sophisticated tool to manage their Search advertising can go for it without a second thought. It helps to manage multiple search engine accounts without any mess up and the tool is easy to use.

"Senior Media Manager"

What do you like best?

Easy to use, it stays up to date with the engines and its UI is simple to follow. I also like how it can combine many different channels.

What do you dislike?

I think the bulksheet process is a little complicated and some of the names mean different things (destination URL, Landing URL)

Just trying to do some Paid Search advertising. Trying to increase the number of page views for a client.

"Marin was big a few years ago, but it's losing out to other players in the market"

What do you like best?

Marin has fallen short in analytics, reporting, and adapting in the fast growing market space. Kenshoo, wordstream, quanticmind, adwords, etc have climbed by continually testing new bidding methods and ways to grow. Marin has the least adaptive reporting structure as well from what I've seen across other platforms.

What do you dislike?

It's less robust than other platforms and I would like to see their R&D team develop more advanced reporting or bidding mechanisms that the other companies seem to be doing.

Check out the other platforms and weigh your options before using Marin.

Bidding optimization and reporting. It's ok for smaller companies but needs to be more built out for corporations with very complicated data.

"Some good features but very slow to keep up"

What do you like best?

Good bulk editing features, easy enough to navigate. Support is quick and usually very helpful.

What do you dislike?

Very, very slow to update the platform with new features and formats after they become available on the platforms. Instagram stories became available well over 6 months after they were released on Power Editor.

Bear in mind that you won't be able to use this platform for everything, as many native options won't be available immediately.

It can be a good way to organise and structure your ads, and the bulk view means checking campaigns and ad detail can be very easy. Editing across multiple ads is also easy.

What do you like best?

Ease of importing 3rd party data into Marin; ability to import multiple conversion metrics vs double-click where it's limited to 1-2

What do you dislike?

-Sometimes it crashes or is down for maintenance at inopportune times

-Landing page reporting is difficult

-Marin is one of the more expensive platforms (Kenshoo being the most expensive), so if price is an issue I would look elsewhere

-Agencies are often able to offer a discounted enterprise rate, but individual pricing starts at 5% of media spend (can usually negotiate down to 3-4%)

What do you like best?

Data is easy to read and customizable.

What do you dislike?

When I am on the home dashboard, having to click into a specific account. If I frequent an account more than others, I would like it to automatically let me bookmark that account - that would save me a step. Today's spend should be updated on the hour. Waiting until tomorrow to see that day's spend is not ideal.

The benefit is having a platform that showcases all my pay-per-click campaigns in one spot.

"Marin: Great product for less complex accounts"

What do you like best?

With any PMD, there is significant advantages and pitfalls with Marin. There is a very useful reporting suite, and fairly straightforward navigation and commands. I like that the filter options allow me to browse and manipulate a massive account very quickly. Adding and changing tracking is very simple.

What do you dislike?

The UI needs an update. Sometimes this platform is buggy and doesn't actually execute commands. There are times when it gets so slow that it's impossible to use. In many cases, I need to double check that actions scheduled in Marin actually took place. This makes it difficult to have a really large complex account.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make sure you consider the size and complexity of the account being managed. This is a great product for a static account.

Managing a Massive 400,000 KW SEM account. I have the ability to append tracking easily.

"Love the product and helpful service."

What do you like best?

I like the nightly sync between Marin and the engines, this helps with flexibility. Being able to bulk upload Accounts, Campaigns, Ad Groups, Keywords and Negative Keywords is awesome. Getting these set-up all at once helps us better understand what is working and how we can start to update bidding.

What do you dislike?

Training - Over the last few months this has gotten better but was a pain at first. Automated bidding is cumbersome, getting training is helping but could have a refresh.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Follow the updated training program Marin has created. Our company did not recommend this training program when I first started, looking at the program now it would have made learning the Marin system easier. Also folders are key to automated bidding getting like products together to bid separate from unlike products is clutch.

Automated bidding, bulk campaign, group and keyword creation.

Benefits allows us to upload to engines all keywords and campaign at once.

"seamless integration"

What do you like best?

The ability to set rules for all platforms in one system.

What do you dislike?

The delay between the search engines and Marin. For example, cost data is not in real-time. Also, I don't like that delivery data (cost, impressions, clicks) have discrepancies between Marin and the search engines the further up the hierarchy (ie campaign level).

Bidding for position as well as connecting conversions to ad delivery.
