"MSM is a Simple, easy to deploy systems manager"

What do you like best?

The Apple deployment is lightning fast and looking for a device is made easy by the simple dashboard. The support team's quick response time is by far my favorite feature of this Software.

What do you dislike?

The android deployment could be made easier.

Recommendations to others considering the product

This is the easiest device manager that we have found for both Apple and Android platforms. The support team for the Meraki Device Manager is rarely needed, but easy to contact and knowledgeable.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

MDM

We use this to solve a myriad of issues that are unsolvable without a device management software, including:

Finding the location of a lost device

Wiping the passcode off of a device of someone who left the company

Remotely wiping and rendering useless a stolen device

Identifying users in a Data group that are overusing data through the Data monitoring option

Updating all of your devices' software remotely instead of having to update every one in person

Identifying the owner of a phone through the dashboard is much easier than calling the phone

Meraki Network Manager

We have specific information regarding internet outages. Times being the most relevant

We have more visibility on our internet traffic, enabling us to block non work related sites that cause the most traffic

We get a notification the moment that a firewall goes down, enabling us to respond to the issue as soon as possible, and making our Support team more independent. Now we don't have to wait for one of the workers at the branch to let us know of an internet outage.

"A Robust MDM Solution At The Right Price"

What do you like best?

We use Cisco Meraki primarily for its Mobile Device Management capabilities. It has been very robust and helpful in this area.

What do you dislike?

There are some limitations on what it can do when it comes to provisioning devices.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Use it. Easy to understand and great support for implementation.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our company used a small MDM provider for years that met our needs when we had a few hundred clients. Once that number started reaching the thousands, it was no longer a useful solution for us to maintain the mobile devices we sent to our active clients. Meraki gave us the functionality we needed and actually saved us money at the same time.

What Enterprise Mobility Management solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

"Meraki making it easier"

What do you like best?

I really like the consolidated management of all of out Meraki devices. It makes it easy to manage our devices, see what is going on with them, if there is any issues. Can troubleshoot remotely.

What do you dislike?

probably the most would be the pricing of the devices and software. For us being a not for profit, they can be a bit pricy and that when you have multiple devices it aggregates the time, so if you buy one with 5 year license and a year later buy another with a 5 year license my understanding is that those end dates would start to blend.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Set up and administration of the Meraki Systems Manager was easy, techs helped with any questions. Maintenance is done on a schedule that you can modify to suit your company needs.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have multiple remote sites that we wanted to not only connect but be able to manage all of the devices as well. prior to this, we had remote sites and there was little or no management capability of those devices. Now we are able to connect all of our remote sites, manage the devices remotely, get alarm notifications, see who was accessing the internet, etc and what sites. This helped our small IT shop manage the sites and help the staff at sites access needed files from our network and store files there for backup and disaster recoverly.

"Review of Meraki Systems Manager"

What do you like best?

What I like best with the Meraki Systems Manager. Is the easy setup and configuration of the the software. The cloud base setup of the system, also the side by side access with the rest of meraki devices. The software allows control of any phone and device that you can install the client onto. You can track where the device is and can remote wipe unlock or lock if the device is lost. Updates can be applied. You can send cmd commands and remote into the device (windows base). Take screen shots of the device's desktop.

What do you dislike?

What I dislike about the Meraki Systems Manager is the tracking of the device. This is not very accurate. And is even worse if the the device's GPS is turned off. Since the Laptop tracking comes from the ISP provider. this will cause it to be impossible to track a computer.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Not much to recommend to about the product. It's easy to setup and implement. Easy to maintain. Pricing seems to be decent. It is priced per device. So depending on how many devices. It could get pricey.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The business problems we solve with the Meraki Systems Manager is Device tracking and monitoring, also support of the device. This lets us know who has the device where it is and access the device if the user needs help. We can also get detailed reports of the devices that are connected to the Meraki Systems Manager.

"Terrific GUI to control some very stable hardware"

What do you like best?

This is a nicely designed portal to manage Meraki products. There are a lot of configuration options here, making the platform very flexible in a small business environment. The portal works as expected 100 percent of the time. A good test of whether an interface is put together well is if you can hand someone the keys and they get off and running right away, and we can attest to that.

What do you dislike?

There is a bit of a learning curve to get the lay of the land. It's not that the menus are poorly arranged, but you should familiarize yourself with where all the settings are to avoid frustration later. A complete redesign of the site a while back was somewhat disruptive, but changes like that are not uncommon in our line of work.

Recommendations to others considering the product

We have tested the wireless management features of this platform, and can recommend them even though we do not have them in production. We really only use the MDM module, which has pretty much everything we need in a free product. We have explored other MDM solutions, but at least for us, it didn't make sense to invest money on the few features that Meraki lacks.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We primarily use this system to manage MDM. We don't require the most advanced features in our environment, so this gets the job done with almost no investment. We are able to manage our mobile devices with very little overhead, and deploying new devices is a quick process.

"MDM for everyone!"

What do you like best?

Meraki Systems Manager is a great piece of software. You can license up to a 100 users for free and control app deployment, security settings, find device location by IP address, reboot the device, lock the device. Standard MDM stuff. I do think it's the most feature rich mobile device management system that I've tried - and I've tested out many. It's got a beautiful web UI, easy deployment to PCs, Macs, iOS or Android devices.

What do you dislike?

I think setting up automatic application deployment is not as easy as it looks. I ended up having to pay to get support and get some of my issues resolved. I think they could update it more, but it really does have a ton of features. I don't know what else they would add.

There's a delay between installing the client and it fully registering with the system. That's my biggest beef.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I wasn't able to keep track of my fleet of machines before this. After I was able to catch employees attempting to steal, I was able to find and lock a machine after it got stolen at an airport, and I remotely troubleshoot issues much easier.

"Meraki System's Manager - MDM Made Easy"

What do you like best?

Meraki systems Manager is one of the easiest and most powerful MDM solutions we have tried. The interface is user friendly and easy to manage without giving up powerful management features. It allows management of mobile devices (iOS and Android smart phones and tablets) as well as more traditional devices (Mac and Eindows computers and laptops).

What do you dislike?

We honestly have found very little to dislike about the solution. It has done everything we have ask of it. If I had to point out one thing, it's that you can do any management from the Meraki app, but that need is rare.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Deployment and management of mobile and desktop hardware, including updates, app deployment and management.

"Meraki Systems Manager"

What do you like best?

I like that this product lets me actively track all of the equipment that I have out on the field. If equipment is lost or stolen, I can quickly send out wipe commands. The product is also fairly easy to deploy.

What do you dislike?

I would like to receive more proactive notifications from the system. For example it tracks how much storage is used on a laptop but it is not giving me notifications when available storage is at a crucial state.

Recommendations to others considering the product

The one thing I would urge potential customers to do is to make sure the system meets all your needs for all operation systems accross the board (WIN, MAC, IOS, ANdroid). There's limited functionality within windows versions as well as for mobile phones.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Mobile device management for field equipment.

"Meraki "

What do you like best?

The software installer helps me out a bunch. Just being able to provide a link for software via dropbox and install it to multiple workstations saves time. Also the geofence feature is great. Anytime a workstation leaves out of the area you are notified immediately.

What do you dislike?

The remote desktop portion works but could be improved. It does not feel as snappy as other remote desktop softwares that I have used .

Recommendations to others considering the product

Meraki is a very nice tool but the products that work with it is very expensive.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Meraki allows me to manage different switches, AP, and workstations all in one inteferface from setting up SSIDs to seeing what type of web traffic is very handy.

"Meraki SM review"

What do you like best?

I enjoy the centralized management and the single dashboard. New features are added on a regular basis. It provides valuable insight into the devices we manage with it.

What do you dislike?

Like many cloud solution, there is a lack of granularity.

Recommendations to others considering the product

This product has come a long way in the few years I have used it. It is a significant tool in our software library. It has helped recover many laptops that went "missing".

We also use Meraki for wireless, so this solution was a free add in to our dashboard. You can monitor up to 100 devices free of charge whether you are a current Meraki customer or not.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use this device to push software to our company managed iOS devices. We also use the agents to keep track of inventory, including where loaner ipads, laptops have been, and who was the last one to access.

It also helps with keeping an eye on the health of the devices. How much disk space is available etc.

There are many security features we use as well. We can remotely wipe the device, lock the device.

"Meraki makes an IT Administrators job easy"

What do you like best?

How its centrally manged and easy to set up and use. Also how it links in with our other Meraki managed devices such as switches and firewalls. It has good security features like locking or wiping a device if it is lost or stolen.

What do you dislike?

It can be a bit expensive to use all the enterprise features.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Try out the free plan before purchasing.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We can set policies on our mobile devices that can set up different wifi connections depending on what device it is. The product also allows us to track in house tablets and mobiles and tablets issued to our employees where ever they are.

"Meraki Manager"

What do you like best?

very easy to use and provides a lot of information with no visible impact on the system

What do you dislike?

It has a browser based screen sharing feature, but that would be a much more useful feature if it were an app based solution

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Makes finding computer info very simple without having to ask the user or start a screen share.

Shows OS info including hardware installed, applications installed, system uptime and much more

"Meraki SM"

What do you like best?

Single pain of glass control with the rest of the Meraki equipment. The system is easy to learn and tech support is great.

What do you dislike?

Some of the options for locking down iOS devices is lacking. Separation for security policies for iOS and Android needs work.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It's good, pricy for the paid version but it gives us good control. They are constantly adding features for better control over iOS.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have a large staff of mobile users. We need to control, deploy and secure with little work from the users. We push policies to help us stay HIPAA compliant.

"Remote Manager for iPad Register"

What do you like best?

The view of all devices and online status were great. The ability to lock to a webpage remotely was also a very useful feature.

What do you dislike?

We primary used the free version of the device manager. Meraki stopped supporting that version which permanently locked devices that were locked when that switch occured. CS was also not helpful or sympathetic at all. Now I mostly use it for keeping track of MEIDs and serial numbers.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Keep in mind they may change things without warning and leave you in a lurch.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Ws solving the ability to track and monitor online status as well as locking, as mentioned in the "best" question.

"Simple to use systems manager"

What do you like best?

I like the ease of use and quick setup of Meraki Systems Manager. It also has a very intuitive interface.

What do you dislike?

There are times when you add client computers to the system manager and they dont show up as being online when they are.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you have a small company and need to manage routers in several locations this definitely should be on your list of considerations.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have locations scattered across the united states on different ISP's and having and easy way of accessing all of our routers and network machines using the same product is amazing.

"Meraki Review"

What do you like best?

I love the system and the ease of use. It makes network administration easy

What do you dislike?

As with any system that makes things easy it limits your ability to perform actions. Such as more detailed firewall rules. However I believe that the logging would be a better option. Logging per rule seems like it would be an easy item to implement and improves testing.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you dont need complex rules then this is the system for you

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are solving the basic network structure for both firewall and wireless service. It is very cost beneficial and easy to use

"Solid cloud based networking and security appliance."

What do you like best?

Love the cloud based management of their system. Also the easy of installation.

What do you dislike?

The setup is a bit odd compared to what I'm accustomed to. They changes a lot of terminology and some of the menu structures make you have to dig down deep to find what I feel are simple settings.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Unless you have 3rd party assistance with the setup of their equipement get training. It's just different enough to be annoying if you don't.

"WISP using Meraki"

What do you like best?

Good desktop to mobile transistion, interfaces are really nice and easy to use. you don't require a whole lot of expertise on the administrative side. A lot of that is taken care of by Meraki on the back end. Excellent build quality. so you have access to the administration of these devices anywhere and anytime you have internet.

What do you dislike?

If you ever stop paying you lose access to your devices, Meraki is like the mafia of the networking vendors - pay up or we'll wack your network. Trying to fit into existing infrastructure can be difficult. They don't run IOS

"Free iDevice Management"

What do you like best?

Although this isn't a full featured Mobile Device Management solution, it does allow us to easily report on all of our devices, push security settings, push applications and see usage statistics at the click of a button.

The roll-out is very easy and we haven't had any complaints from our users.

What do you dislike?

Not as robust as I would like--I would be willing to pay for it to have some more features.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Try it out on one or two devices first and set up enough profiles that you can be granular.
