"Quick, accurate and compliant design of foul and surface water networks"

What do you like best?

Micro Drainage is a range of fully integrated modules, developed for the design and modelling of surface water and waste water systems. It is a user friendly interface, which helps to test designs against extreme weather patterns for climate change and automatically size drainage networks. It Include flow controls, infiltration systems and attenuation structures within one fully integrated hydraulic model

What do you dislike?

Sometimes it Shows Sentinel Key not found error and the same time software will crash without any notice. The changes to model which can cause a bit of more additional time to re-work. Also loading big files are a big challenge in this software.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It is very useful software to Identify, understand and solve hydraulic problems within designs automatically, quickly and easily. We can easily model extreme rainfall by applying rainfall data directly to the terrain. Also, easy import and Exort. GIS data in a number of formats including .pwf, .csv, .txt, .xml and .asc.

"Great for Highway drainage design"

What do you like best?

Microdrainage does what its supposed to do. great for drainage design and helps newbies like me with ease. Its integration with autocad is best. Also the SUDS options modelling are best in microdrainage. Can use it for small areas as well as large highway drainages like HS2.

What do you dislike?

Not really dislike as this may be related to PC specs but handling of big size files can be improved which sometimes might crash the software.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Since I use it with for modelling and designing SUDS solutions, its works well with my softwares. GIS is important to me and this software delivers in proper way.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The cost benefit analysis is great tool to help find out optimal solution to many of our problems. Also the integration with GIS data and AutoCAD is very useful and many other softwares will make this difficult compared to microdrainage. Also simulating rainfall events is very fast which saves time since this task takes most time in most other software.

What Civil Engineering Design solution do you use?

"Micro Drainage- UK water"

What do you like best?

The best is the user friendly interface of the MicroDrainage and its ability to integrate with the CAD software's helping the designers to design with their own standards. one of the best is the automatically size drainage networks as well as designing of the stormwater and foul water systems graphically.

What do you dislike?

The major disadvantage I felt is that when we load big files as well as when we gets an error MicroDrainage will crash in between with out any prior notification which make its really difficult to deal sometimes and the visual effects can be improved which will give more clarity as well as clear cut ideas to the users.

Recommendations to others considering the product

The friendly user interface which will even help the beginners to work with an ease without feeling this is something new. As a hydraulic modeler MicroDrainage helps to design, audit and model integrated sustainable drainage systems which inturn results in efficiently managed cost benefit model. If you are in search of a good software to SUDs you got one !.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The easy import of CAD and GIS data which will reduce the time of the project. When we are in short of Infoworks ICM license we can use the MicroDrainage to understand how much volume of water is required for a pond with this much incoming water from a particular return period rain and apply that volume and level to our solutions instead of waiting for the license.

"Helpfull and user friendly."

What do you like best?

The easiness in creating and running the model in most effective and accurate way makes the software more userfriendly. The visualization fetaures helps in correcting the errors and the easily manage the network. the user interface is user friendly and easily to manage. The drawnet feature makes the modelling more easy and accurate. With the combination of visualization and the userfriendly menu bars and the schedules and models makes it more effective. Exporting the model details will provide more to the output that can be generated from the model. Microdainage compatability with Civil 3D and Autocad (DrawnetCAD) makes the software more effective and userfriendly. For the 3D modelling purpose designing it in MicroDrainage ang linking it with the Civil 3D reduces the extra work during the modelling process. Focussing on the visualization a little bit more will improve the overall experience of the software. Eitherway looking foward to the improvements that will be updated in MicroDrainage 2019 verions as i am using the 2018 version for modelling purposes.

What do you dislike?

Shows Sentinel Key not found error some times. have to reset the dongle to resolve the above issue. When the error occurs the software will crash without any notice. The Visualization can be little more clear and accurate which will improve the model creation with more accuracy.

Recommendations to others considering the product

More userfriendly than the other softwares in the drainage design purposes

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Adoptable and Storm drainage network design and modelling. Makes the modelling easier and effective compared to the similar softwares that are used for the model creation and simulation.

"Easy to use drainage design software "

What do you like best?

Micro Drainage (Windes) is a great program for designing integrated drainage solutions. The program is able to design pipe networks, storage facilities and has flood modelling capabilities. It integrates well with AutoCAD and can output pipe schedules and long sections making it ideal for design on construction projects.

What do you dislike?

The program can become frustrating when making changes to pipe networks which can cause a bit of re-work and it would be ideal to be able to import information via a spreadsheet format into the program to save set up time.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I am currently using Micro Drainage for highway drainage design and it has proved useful to be able to input the full drainage solution (rainfall, pipe networks and storage facilities) into the one program to produce a more accurate design. The program also has an interface with AutoCAD and can import surfaces from CIvil3D which makes designing the drainage easier.
