"Solution for e-Commerce plaform"

What do you like best?

We started using Azure CDN by a requirement that made the department eCommerce company. To use one of the platforms where we published our online stores we requested that the images were hosted on a dedicated server images to display them properly froma web.

For this reason we decided to use Azure CDN, to thereby have two advantages: having its own image storage service in the cloud plus all the benefits of a CDN network.

Having the images distributed according to the proximity of the user, the platform achieved a much higher performance, allowing our customers to access the images of our products much faster.

We can also offer e-commerce department third-party tools for Llos themselves could upload online photographs of our products.

What do you dislike?

With respect to the negative things I could name the complexity of implementation. While it was not a very difficult task is quite confusing process for the CDN platform is configured correctly. The steps are few but confused when implemented. It should improve slightly this.

One point that should be corrected is to provide tools for uploading and downloading of images from the blob of Azure CDN. The administration of the images has to be done with third party tools.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Undoubtedly if someone needs to use a hosting service images and has an account must implement Azure CDN. It is very efficient and practical.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

As I mentioned earlier, it was implemented in order to have a platform images distributed geographically efficient way for our e-commerce online stores. We managed to have a platform mounted within hours that largely met our expectations.

"Fast and Reliable"

What do you like best?

Very easy to set up, management console is decent, fast and generally easy to set up. I haven't had any issues with downtimes, and the service is set at a decent price.

What do you dislike?

It took about 48 hours for the service to work initially. While the dashboard is alright, it could use a touch up.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Its a pleasure to use and setup, just be aware that it may take some time for the DNS to clear up.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

File hosting for a public Linux repo. This solves global scalability and uptime that we were facing with other providers.

What Content Delivery Network (CDN) solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

"Backed by a big name, but the interface is lacking"

What do you like best?

The CDN itself is a solid product. Reliable and decent SLA. This product seems somewhat more open and accessible than Microsoft's more proprietary offerings.

What do you dislike?

I've never liked the Azure web interface. While it's possible to avoid this completely, I'm not a daily or even weekly user of the Azure CDN so I would rather utilize the lower learning curve of the web interface, but it's just so different from other interface that it makes it hard to get anything done. Don't get me wrong, it looks nice and slick, but just give me something that works!

Recommendations to others considering the product

Take the time to learn the command line interface and stick to that.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I'm just looking for a low cost solution to getting data into the cloud and out to my customers. Azure CDN does the trick.

"The Microsoft option for CDN"

What do you like best?

Integrates well with other microsoft tools like asp.net .net framework c# built apps. It's also part of the Azure stack so if you're into it, it may be the best cdn option for you in terms of integration

What do you dislike?

Compared to other CDN services without the microsoft logo printed on it, Azure feels like it lacks ease of use, and the price is somewhat high.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Try it if you're willing to give your CC for verification. If you use Azure it will most likely fit your needs.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Content delivery, Azure integration, Assets caching.

"Review for Microsoft Azure CDN"

What do you like best?

Best CDN that works seamlessly with the Azure stack offerings. Different locations can be chosen. And it applies to the whole of the App contents. the have a lot of regions especially in the US continent. This gave us a lot of performance improvement and faster page loads

What do you dislike?

More regions to be covered in the future.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Must try CDN for Cloud users . Especially those who are currently using the Azure cloud services

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Publishing our Public website in Azure and using Azure CDN gave us a lot of performance improvement

"Surprisingly Solid CDN"

What do you like best?

The user interface is relatively intuitive, but Windows 8.1-like (yuck). It does combine this familiar interface with all of the well known styles of Windows, and all of the utilities offered by most other CDN services. It couples well with other Microsoft products - so if that's your base of choice, Azure is the way to go.

What do you dislike?

It's a little clunky and has many, many utilities. Sometimes this makes it hard to navigate and do the things you want to do. Initial set up if difficult, and having a step-by-step would be beneficial.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Be a Windows person!

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Serving up virtual machines. Using it to provide virtual desktops. All Microsoft products are easily integrated which is something lacking in Linux-based platforms.

"Reliable"

What do you like best?

Azure is a product of a reputable and reliable company. It has a variety of feature to make creating and running your application easy. Most common languages are supported, such as Java and Python. For the viewers, page delivery and load time is fast. And large streaming media is supported.

What do you dislike?

Azure CDN is expensive compared to other options. There is a learning curve.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Give it a try, but go with something else if you are on a budget. However, it will at least be a speed upgrade to cloud computing based sites.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Speed up our website and content delivery

"Enjoying Microsoft Azure? Dont look elsewhere for a CDN Provider"

What do you like best?

It integrates greatly with the Microsoft Azure cloud, already hosting your app with them? why not add their CDN.

What do you dislike?

You can not use them with your own servers, you have to be hosted on the Azure cloud

Recommendations to others considering the product

You only get charged with the services you use, it all adds up to your Microsoft Azure bill so you don't have to calculate the total yourself

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Streaming media, flash, silverlight, mp4, windows media.
