What do you like best?
BitLocker requires hardware TPM module installed on your Laptop/PC and encrypts hard drives/solid state drives and prevents your information from from being accessed by anyone without entering login/pass at boot up. Even if your laptop has been stolen/left unattended and someone will try to boot from USB/CD/DVD and/or hard drive was taken out and connected to another Laptop/PC, a person won't be able to access data stored on the hard drive. Keys are stored in AD domain and BitLocker can be customized by GPO.
As an alternative to BitLocker - Check Point can be considered.
What do you dislike?
Encryption process takes a while especially on slow HDDs (low IOPs) and creates additional load to the system. In case if login/password has been forgotten it'll require additional time and effort for recovering by using USB/CD/DVD drive with recovery information stored on it in case if your Laptop/PC isn't a joined to a domain.
In the other hand 3rd parties software for Bitlocker drive data recovery without key can be utilized.
