With all of my previous CRM sales experience in Salesforce, the move to using MS Dynamics does not allow for much positive feedback. If I had moved from using an Excel sheet to MS Dynamics, I think there would be a greater chance of positive feedback.
Being a former power user of Salesforce and then coming on board with a company that is using MS Dynamics was beyond disappointing. The customization is just not there. With that being said, it would be difficult not to mention all of the day-to-day annoyances that I face in my role.
Reporting is an absolute disaster. For a quota-carrying rep, daily reports are a necessity. I can't even run a simple report showing all of my prospects and their current solutions. Absolute nightmare.
From an account view, there is no way to easily copy and paste a contact's name and information so I have to manually type their information into whatever other tools I'm using. If I'm looking at the history of closed activities on an account, I can't see any details of the contact related to the activity or the email body of the message that was previously sent. You have to click on that activity which brings you to a new window. Once you're done reviewing that activity, it forces you back to the main screen of the account instead of where you were in going through the list of closed activities. I estimate an additional 10 minutes of unnecessary work is added to every account I access. And I'm accessing 10-15 accounts daily at a minimum.
The search engine, you can't search for a phone number. If someone calls me back and doesn't leave a message. I can't type in their number and locate them in CRM. I can't locate someone by their email address in the search bar. To locate an account in CRM, you have to spell out the whole account name exactly for it to populate.
The activity list doesn't allow you to populate the account along with the activity. So you have to manually open up the account in another window while working through the activity. The activity filters don't allow you to view yesterday's tasks or your weekly tasks.
The list goes on and I'm sure that some of these areas could be resolved with a more informed admin or possibly more customization. But from a sales perspective, it is a daily torture to use.
