"Teach yourself to code!"

What do you like best?

I took a few college classes on coding and have seen plenty of other ways to teach yourself to code, but this is the first collective learning initiative and by far the best method out there that I've ever seen. You can certainly teach yourself from the privacy of your own home, but if you learn better with others you should definitely check this out.

What do you dislike?

I believe that Mozilla Webmaker is defiitely right path to achieve their goal – “To help millions of people move from using the web to making the web.” But these efforts would yield better fruit if the webmaker tools are refined and more funtionality is added. As of now, these tools have a long way to go to distinguish themselves from other like-minded apps out there on the internet.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Take advantage of the group efforts and tutorials they offer. Mozilla Webmaker is fantastic at answering questions and providing support around the clock. You get out of it what you put it.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Reduce outsourcing costs and learning to code myself

"Proof of concept your ideas quickly and for free "

What do you like best?

What I like the best was that it is a free product that I can quickly and easily get a point across. Getting a proof of concept out and to others within your organization is easy. Best part is that this product will always be free and always be maintained by the Mozilla foundation.

What do you dislike?

That there is no big community behind it. It has limitations on the back-end spectrum. I can not connect a database to my frontal creation. I would like more templates as well. Templates could be simple.

Recommendations to others considering the product

it is easy to get a web "proof of design" point across, quickly.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Using it with thimble to quickly realize web applications and proof of concept ideas. It is also free so we can have a lot of people using it. It's innate to use. A lot of our staff can just start this up and have something ready by end of day. You can also share your ideas with other staff members via a link or other connection string .

"Smart Phone Web Master"

What do you like best?

“Read-only” mobile Web is finally changing, starting with Mozilla webmaker. The app allows people to create original HTML content using their smart phone.

What do you dislike?

There’s no steep learning curve, nor any complex toolbars, but the interface is still in the infancy stage of this apps potential. Optimistically, future upgrades will provide improved user satisfaction.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Free Forever

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Mozilla Webmaker provides the basic building blocks: text, pictures and hot links. With these three basic fundamentals, HTML editing is possible on the smartphone. But it's still only available for Android, not Apple. Apple long time ago create Claris Home Page, a wonderful WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) HTML editor. But it's software updates were stopped, so it could not be used with today's computers.

"Nice app to start learning the web"

What do you like best?

The simple design itself, Webmaker help a lot of you children to learn the basic of web hierarchy and to develop their coding skills. In general it helps a lot of people to have a kick start in their journey of programming, to be a best coder Webmaker is the place to start with.

What do you dislike?

After a point of time there is actually no use to maintain the product, the skill set included are only limited to beginners only. After a period of time people switch to other apps seeking more knowledge. This is a major dis-advantage.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make/Add more languages in the board. Also make simple gestures to connect them to the web

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Teach students the way web works, to take class across nations and help people have a basic web literacy.

"Excellent product to introduce individuals to web development"

What do you like best?

The platform provides an excellent introduction to the foundations of web development. Students gain hands on exposure to HTML, CSS and Javascript development. Students have access to an interactive playground in which they can work directly with code and see in real time how the changes are materialized. Further the community environment ensures students get ongoing support and encouragement throughout their educational journey. The cross-platform compatibility also features an amazing advantage, allowing individuals to build upon their understanding, wherever they may be.

What do you dislike?

The platform may often feel a bit clunky, and have a learning curve. However with proper instruction and a bit of time you can get used to the user interface and controls to optimize the development process. This may be improved by featuring built in support for existing industry standard IDE's. This way you can get started immediately developing after gaining an educational understanding of the material. In addition ongoing video tutorials and expert commentary would further encourage and simplify the learning process.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Great platform to get started on the journey to learning web development. Get started today!

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

This software is an excellent method to gain a foundational understanding of web development. As a web development firm, it is quite advantageous to have all team members within the company to have at least a fundamental understanding of the processes and technologies. Mozilla Webmaker does just that, facilitating a creating environment of self-discovery.

"Mozilla Webmaker Review"

What do you like best?

Mozilla Webmaker is a useful program that can teach you how to code. I specifically like how safe it is to use. I can try new things without worrying about messing anything up.

What do you dislike?

I am looking forward to Mozilla growing and opening up the doors for what you can do. What you can do is still rather limited in the grand scheme of things.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I would recommend to not be afraid to try new things with Mozilla, you really can't go wrong with anything you do.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I am learning to create original content for my company's website with Mozilla. The benefit is that we use a third party less and less as my knowledge grows.

"Basic website made easy"

What do you like best?

Here is a free, open source, web site software that helps you create some basic, but somewhat cool, websites. Some sections are wizard driven which makes it rather easy for the novice creator like me.

What do you dislike?

You need to have some patience, especially if you are a novice. Don't think that you are going to have something real complex, because it's not going to happen here.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you are just starting out with web design and need something rather simple, then this is the tool for you.
