"NeoGov Insight"

What do you like best?

The ease of use. This has been an excellent applicant tracking system. I love the ability to customize the supplemental questions to each position we post. This allows us to set up a scoring plan that screens for minimum qualifications as well as add additional points to desired qualifications. You can add multiple steps in your exam plan to fully document your recruitment process. The report builder is excellent for pulling customized reports to measure specific data.

What do you dislike?

Currently you have to set up two different sets of notifications one for the Insight side and one for the OHC side. There are often times I may need a notice that is only set up in one or the other and I have to go back and create a new one. It would be easier if all notices were available no matter what section you are in.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The program allows us to perform the initial review of applications to ensure they meet the minimum qualifications and provide access to all hiring manager to review applications. Setting up self-schedule interviews is an amazing time saver! All things considered the program allows us to streamline the hiring process, saving time and money.

"A Program for all your needs"

What do you like best?

We use Neogov software for our evaluations and job application at work. It's a nice, simple and colorful program.

What do you dislike?

Since we just began using it regularly it's not too much I can say I dislike. It will take me some time to get used to it.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you looking for something pretty and colorful with ease of use, this would be the perfect software.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We just began to use the software to administer evaluations to employees and I was one involved with the configurations of what we needed in the application. I do like how the supervisor and the employee can sit together on 2 ipads and complete the evaluation. As for the hiring program, it keeps everything simple and easy to navigate.

"Review for NeoGov"

What do you like best?

NeoGov is a robust software primarily designed for municipalities. It has multiple features that allow employers to track candidates for hire for various municipal/government positions. I especially like the feature that allows me to customize the application process by asking specific questions unique to that position. I like being able to search to see if the candidate has applied previously and for what positions. The automatic notification feature for candidates not chosen for an interview or for hire is one we use for every opening,

What do you dislike?

It is cubersome to have to go into NeoGov continuously to send applications to the SMEs (Subject Matter Experts). It would be ideal to be able to set it up once for all applications to go the SME rather than having to send them to the SME each day. It seems to take a while to flip back and forth to different folders within the system. There could be more logic applied to the way you search for items. Many times, instead of clicking on the job title, you must click elsewhere to get where you really want to be and you get lost along the way.

Recommendations to others considering the product

NeoGov is quite pricey, but could be worth it if you utilize all the features. Frequent, daily use by a primary user will make it easy to navigate through, but for the occasional user, it can be cumbersome to find exactly what you are looking for without a lot of clicking back and forth.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We can streamline the hiring process and can involve hiring managers from multiple departments. The automatic email notification feature to applicants is a great time saver. We can have multiple individuals review the applications simultaneously to keep the hiring process moving along.

"Industry Leader"

What do you like best?

Neogov is a well recognized platform in it's field. As an HR professional in a municipality, I see Neogov used in most of the surrounding cities. Compared to what a few others use, it definitely seems to be the most thorough and easiest to navigate, specifically from the applicant's end. From the professional end, I most like the applicant tracking portion. It stores everything in a easy to locate format ( so long as you are familiar with the system).

What do you dislike?

It is not the most user friendly system. There is quite a learning curve when training. Also, because there are so many routes to get to the same place it can cause some confusion in that aspect as well. The user interface seems a bit outdated as well. Could be a bit more visually appealing. The price compared to other similar services is a bit steep too.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Having all applicants come through an online system is a huge benefit in terms of job postings. No longer having to store any sort of paper application reduces the work load of records retention for us as well.

"Good HR hiring and management program!"

What do you like best?

NeoGov is a great management system for HR requisitions, hires and onboarding. It is definitely designed for governments and it is handy when you are doing national recruitments as it is likely that potential candidates have used NeoGov before and know the system.

What do you dislike?

The screen design/UX could be improved. A little difficult to navigate. There was a recent upgrade which helped, but still needs a little work.

Recommendations to others considering the product

NeoGov has got the lock on local governments around the country. Therefore, the improvements made most likely will benefit your municipality.

HR postings, hiring, requisitions, approval processes, etc...

Examine number of individual staff to be involved in hiring process. Do you have time to train all involved to add manual notes and status changes. System only is as good as individuals using it. Great if so.

Large scale recruitment for multiple departments. Managed by individual department managers for collecting applications and interviewing. Higher level controls for HR to coordinate hiring process.

"Good employee review software"

What do you like best?

Clean user interface, employee review interval scheduling, goals and competency management, printable review sheets. NeoGov provides an API that allows you to keep you information in synch.

What do you dislike?

The UI can be a little bit confusing at times, but I NEOGov has made improvements over the last few years.

Provide structured data to NEOGov. Considering using their API to keep your HRIS in synch with NEOGov

What do you like best?

I like the fact that it uses cutting edge technology to perform human resource tasks in a fast and efficient manner.

What do you dislike?

With every system, there is a learning curve. So it takes some time to get acclimated to the system. After reviewing the demonstration, any human resource professional can implement the software.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I would suggest that you review the demo and then compare the product other products that peform the same function. The ease in implementation will win you over even if other products are less expensive.

I am hiring staff. Neogov helps me to process the applications quickly, track payroll, and organize retention and benefits.

I found the system to have a wealth of Information.

It was difficult to navigate and find some of the basic functions of the system.

Simplifying the use of the system, it is a convoluted system.

It was used for onboarding and recruitment. It eased the onboarding process and created a streamlined process across the company.

"Performance Management is Clunky"

What do you like best?

Integration of HR systems- especially lms and pe subsystems

What do you dislike?

Performance Management piece is not user friendly. Difficult to implement.
