"Excellent People, Product, & Portal"

What do you like best?

NetX helped to really bring our office up to date especially with regards to asset storage and distribution. The Portal is a really remarkable tool and was the major selling point among our decision makers.

What do you dislike?

We have yet to encounter any issues worth mentioning with the vendor and service.

Don't hesitate to contact current NetX users to request information or a look a their portal.

The NetX Portal frees up time for our designers to work on higher level projects instead of needing to assist with every piece requested by the various areas on campus. Power users are able to create their own materials with the easy to use templates available through the Portal.

"For the level of complexity, I have always been pleased with how easy this tool is to use."

What do you like best?

What I like best about this software is the people at NetX that develop and support it. We, like allot of companies, tend to be a little outside the box. The team at NetX has ALWAYS been available to talk about modifications and enhancements with great enthusiasm as well as great ideas for providing solutions!

What do you dislike?

I really don't have any issues with the latest release of this software. NetX has addressed some of my past issues and I am very happy with the status of the application today.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Most tools require environmental adaptation. I have found the the team at NetX more than happy to accommodate implementation opportunities for modification, external system communication, training and on going development of recognized industry need and trends.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

There are many task functions available with NetX. We use those to management file movement, file updating, single source syncing and versioning. Image contract expiration dates as well as other business management filters to narrow or widen distribution channels. NetX enables us to enable our business partners..

"Perfect fit "

What do you like best?

We got the features we needed - a fully customizable DAM system with a portal setup and online template editor with the number of end users and space we needed. The rollout for our organization has been great and we know that we can continue to grow our system without unexpected costs.

What do you dislike?

We haven't run into any major roadblocks with the system. We went through an extensive implementation process that walked us through how to set up our custom system. Through this, we had several requests for specific tweaks we wanted, and we were accommodated by our implementation team. So far, so good!

Recommendations to others considering the product

I recommend NetX as a solution for an organization's digital asset management needs. We were able to implement a system that allows us to use all the functions that we identified were needed to be successful and the room to grow and refine our system. The implementation process was great. Our rep walked us through everything and answered all of our questions. We started our rollout earlier this summer and everything is going great! Our campus is excited about the template editor and the access to all our brand assets.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We need members of our organization to be able to search, share and download brand assets. We need a central location to house these things and a way for people to log in and get these assets. The biggest selling point to our organization though was the ability to edit online templates and download the art.

"Not-so-user friendly"

What do you like best?

NetX generally does what I need it to. If I need to look up someone's account information, I can do it. If I need to make a trade, I can do that too, with relative ease.

What do you dislike?

The user interface of the mobile app and the web app are very different. The mobile app is very picky when it comes to depositing checks. Often I will get a "cannot read account number at bottom of check" after multiple tries.

The desktop app especially needs to be brought into the 21st century. Information is difficult to find and the widgets are bulky and unsightly.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I'm able to trade in brokerage accounts and view client assets in one place. It's easier than some trading software I've used in the past, such as streetscape.

"Excellent Customer Service"

What do you like best?

NetX has an excellent support service. After submitting a support request, response is always same day, usually within an hour or two. Customers are kept in the loop on progress and all of my issues have been fixed quickly. If any issue requires follow-up, NetX is always responsive and has even reached out via phone on occasion.

The leadership of the company is very accessible and open to conversation regarding future features. Their approach is not one-size-fits-all; they are responsive to helping customers solve their business problems in the most effective and efficient way possible. We chose NetX over other mid-range DAM providers because of their flexibility and willingness to track our roadmap with their services.

What do you dislike?

Our onboarding and training was a bit ad hoc, and this was mostly due to the fact that we came on during a major software upgrade. NetX needs to work more on documentation, but they are aware of this and are making progress.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our photography assets were stored physically on hard drives, as slides, on CDs, and even as prints. We also had a paper process for managing model releases which was not attached in any way to the actual assets, leaving us vulnerable to legal issues. Our NetX Dam is now being used by over 40 campus communicators, sharing the same assets which are all digitally attached to their original releases. We are also able to approve or reject downloads on specific assets and have found this very helpful in managing our visual brand. We are looking at expanding our DAM to handle all brand assets in the future.

"NetX - intuitive interface for managing and searching our internal Knowledge Base"

What do you like best?

NetX gives us a simple interface branded for our clients to use as their own portal for finding custom content. Our portal has strong search capabilities that provide the right content our clients need at their fingertips.

What do you dislike?

NetX is working on aligning their portal and native interfaces. Having all of the capabilities in the portal will be a big win for our users.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our biggest challenge is having an up to date asset management system that multiple audiences and clients can quickly access around the world. Our users can quickly find what they are looking for and we can share custom content to specific groups using permissions that allow for key channel differences to be easily managed in one system.

"NetX Customizeable "

What do you like best?

I like the look and ease of the brand portal. The layout is easy for consumers to find what they are looking for in professional, clean and neat layout design

What do you dislike?

The customization on the backend is currently in a spot that makes it difficult to make updates or changes to the assets you are controlling for presentation on the brand portal side. It's not at an efficient level yet, and the documentation is still catching up to a non-technical level for their knowledge base.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Be aware that they expect you to have a more technical background. Our team was small, doing this as a side project, and weren't technical folks - only one of us had software administration background, but never worked with a DAM before. Our ramp up time was significantly delayed by having to learn little things as we went, whereas a more technical background may have understood all the terminology and concepts more quickly. It is NOT an out of the box configuration, where you simply decide folder access and permissions - it requires quite a bit more lift than we expected when we first looked into a tool like this and were comparing them with far more expensive options. We likely might have benefited from hiring a consultant to help.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We needed to be able to not have to email our assets individually, whether they be marketing materials, implementation documents, or other knowledge pieces to our clients. Our current method was not secure or efficient, so this tool allows us to put everything in a one-stop shop for our clients that allows them the ease to get what they need when they need it without overburdening our account managers. We've been able to get our materials straight to our clients in an easy, scalable format.

"Heading in the right direction but still some kinks to work out"

What do you like best?

The brand portal is nicer than having clients use Box.

Once Dan took over the implementation, things were great and we started learning about the tool and what needed to be done.

What do you dislike?

Implementation started out really rough. Documentation initially provided was basically a spreadsheet with a couple of data examples with no context.

Certain features seem to be buggy. Sometimes we need to perform tasks twice in order for files to display in the brand portal. Some files didn't seem to appear at all.

Using Flex for the auto tasks is rough. The experience could be much better or move that functionality to the admin portal side and improve the flow there (task order display, scrolling, etc)

Having to contact NetX to restart the service. I'm not sure if we are the only ones that routinely need to create new auto tasks but it would be nice to do the restart ourselves.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Spend a lot of time up front thinking about the folder structure and auto tasks you're creating. We have 2 different client bases so looking back it may have been better to create 2 brand portals rather than using access to control what users see.

Our clients couldn't previously access Box to download files.

It's much visually nicer than Box.

"Excellent value, easy to use!"

What do you like best?

Incredible easy to use; just drag and drop your assets from anywhere onto the screen and in they go. Sleek, easy to browse layout with multiple views to choose from. Sharing assets is just a few simple clicks and you're done! The support is fantastic as well. I've never been left with an unresolved issue.

What do you dislike?

Honestly, any little issue I've had has been met with openness and a willingness to work with me to develop these features, especially if other clients have expressed the same desire.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Storage of digital assets in a shared folder structure has made for clumsy and difficult search and retrieval. NetX allows the addition of searchable metadata and easy file sharing.

"NetX Digital Asset Management"

What do you like best?

I like the ease of creating new folders and dragging and dropping files in the most recent versions of NetX. I am a super user, and previous versions lacked some of this user experience. I like how easy it is to share files with people outside of our organization. The "relationship" tab is especially helpful for our designers who use indd files and need all of the linked files as well.

What do you dislike?

I have some issues with the search functionality, sometimes it doesn't pull up a file even when the search is basically the exact file name.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have a team of freelance designers who don't work on site, so we can't simply store our files on our local servers. We need a way to share files with internal employees as well as our external freelancers.

"Great product, waiting patiently on FLEX"

What do you like best?

Great search function. Site is robust, once you know how to use it you can accomplish a lot of cool things and even more in the Flex site. It's intuitive to a point - but not 100% consistently. The site is fast to load and downloads are good too. There's a good admin interface with lots of flexibility given to admins.

What do you dislike?

Interface, but a lot of that will be fixed in HTML5. Would like to see more control/easier to control on the emails that the system sends.

Keep pushing for Flex and user interface. Making things easy to do.

We use NETX as a repository and to share content. It helps us get assets to a lot of users without much effort.

"Great for large universities!"

What do you like best?

I love that our university can easily share logos, templates, and photos without a drive or an emailed file.

What do you dislike?

It took a bit of setup initially, but it was worth it.

"Great customer service"

What do you like best?

Customer support is quick to respond when I have an issue. New issues forum guides NetX to implement new features their customers want.

What do you dislike?

Announcement of new features and changes sometimes lag the actual software release. Though this has been greatly improved over the last 6 months.

Test with your own data.

Repurposing assets has become a self serve function. Great for our customers who need to use print images for social media, collateral printing.

"Great product idea. Company still in infancy. "

What do you like best?

The portal is a great looking interface and the pricing was much better than other products we reviewed.

What do you dislike?

It took a very long time to get up and running - the level of on boarding support we got was pretty minimal. It seems as though there is a lack of support documentation that other clients would want. We have to ask for upgrades, but when we do they are speedy.

We are resolving an issue with version control and with some clients who have been unable to access documents through box.

"Photos for All Sports, All Seasons in One Single and Searchable Repository. "

What do you like best?

Custom metadata fields, easy upload, easy to share and download photos.

What do you dislike?

For metadata entry, for our purposes there was one metadata field that felt repetitive.

Taking various photos of all sports, all athletes and coaches throughout the years from 12 member institutions and organizing them into a single, shareable and searchable site.

"NetX for any size business"

What do you like best?

Working across the US, having our assets all in one place in the cloud and easily searchable has been invaluable for our marketing team.

What do you dislike?

We're hoping for a Slack integration! It seems the NetX team is very receptive to suggestions for integrations, so I have the utmost confidence we will see one in the near future.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our Marketing lead has been working offsite and was struggling to hunt down assets for newsletters and other media. Now, all of our assets live on the cloud and are easily searchable. They have gained much more independence being able to locate assets on their own.

"NetX in Archives"

What do you like best?

The NetX staff are very responsive. Usually have a reply within a few minutes.

"NetX is an effective tool for categorizing and describing digital assets."

What do you like best?

I liked the ease of batch processing in NetX. I could append descriptive metadata to hundreds of assets at once as well as add/move them to a new category easily. Creating PDFs and sharing zip files are also handy features in addition to saving multiple "carts" that you can come back to later. The ability to choose a file size when downloading files is necessary in today's world because the end user may need a high resolution for printing a large banner or a low res file for sharing via social media. It's also easy to push out to social media outlets from NetX.

What do you dislike?

Only the final version of video files could be uploaded. NetX is good for a variety of formats (jpeg, tif, raw, PDF, vAdobe files, Microsoft files, mp4, etc.) but not a good workflow tool regarding large video files. We used a separate system altogether for our video workflow, and only uploaded the final compressed mp4 files into NetX. Though, the video preview feature is nice.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Always check the Knowledge Base before submitting a tech support query. The answer may already be there. NetX is good about keeping clients up to date on product changes.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

NetX helped streamline the process of uploading and sharing photography with all of the company staff. It has been a huge timesaver. Though, the true benefit comes from the staff who are managing the DAM. A monkey can upload files; it takes time and work to choose which categories to upload to, and what metadata tags to add. If the digital assets aren't made searchable by the staff maintaining the system, then the system won't work. NetX is an excellent "out of the box" software for those who already have a good staff in place who are well organized enough to manage the ingest of the assets as well as making them searchable.

What do you like best?

Scalability for a large asset collection for large files some exceeding 2GB. Diverse file handling with extensive permission levels.

What do you dislike?

Metadata updates have a lag time that previous DAM did not have.

What do you like best?

I like the search. It is phenomenally good. I also like the company. They are always helpful, responsive, and provide very custom solutions.

What do you dislike?

It is very powerful, and sometimes it's hard to remember how to do the more sys administrative tasks because there are womanly possible options and ways to configure the system.

"Working on a DAMS migration to NetX"

What do you like best?

Functionality and integration capability; logical interface for everyday users.

What do you dislike?

Like any DAM, it's a steep learning curve for admins.
