"Data Quality and Quality Data Made Simple"

What do you like best?

My favorite piece of the Oceanos platform, to date, is the data health check. The Oceanos data health check has been an extremely valuable tool, that has allowed us to provide our clients with actionable intelligence around the health of their data. On top of that, Oceanos' ability to correct and append many of the data inconsistencies has been extremely valuable and reliable.

What do you dislike?

It's hard to find something that I dislike here. Oceanos truly differentiates themselves from other vendors that I've worked with, in the past, based on the level of service and care they put into their products. Tim has always been extremely accessible, whenever questions arise and has made the extra effort to ensure that each experience is a positive one.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Give the health check a try. The insights it provides are extremely valuable in understanding the makeup of your database.

Data quality and data completeness have always been a challenge, especially in today's ever digital world. Oceanos has provided us with the platform to quickly and accurately evaluate database and record health as well as the resources to mitigate problems as they arise.

"Senior Global Marketing Programs Manager"

What do you like best?

Oceanos has great support. I've been working with them for several years and Holly Walsh, my dedicated Project Manager is always responsive, timely and friendly. She is great to work with and will re-run our data sets multiple times in order to get it right even when we change our minds mid project! In addition, I love how Oceanos' Gap Analysis and Data Integrity report gives me an easy to understand breakdown of my database. It allows me to be more strategic in my list purchase, append and cleansing projects for the year.

What do you dislike?

No list provider can have 100% deliverable data BUT Oceanos is certainly the closest and has the best quality that I've seen. I've not had any bad experiences.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Give Oceanos as much information as possible around your target audience/personas, it makes the processes easier for them and it will eliminate a lot of the back and forth edits.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

After our company acquired a few businesses our target audience changed a bit, which led to a large gap analysis project. Oceanos was able to give us great insight into who we had in our database and who we were missing which allowed us to most efficiently plan our list purchase projects in order to fill in the gaps. Oceanos made the process simple and easy and provided great strategic insights along the way.

"A Great Resource and more importantly, a Great Partner!"

What do you like best?

Innovation, hard work and service. The fact that they go out of their way customize and tailor to our exact needs to deliver a great product. The use of social verification takes the data to a higher quality level. The turnaround for custom requests is great.

What do you dislike?

The quality of B2B data in general - regardless of where you get it from - is never great - but these guys do a great job trying to minimize these issues.

This is a great, hard working outfit that cares about delivering quality data. I highly recommend them.

"We brought Oceanos on board to provide us with high-quality LinkedIn-verified contacts"

What do you like best?

The Oceanos representatives are very helpful and responsive, and are able to "tier" our contact results based on the quality and source of their data. This valuation score helps us to identify the highest-quality contacts for our marketing campaigns, and has yielded positive results for our firm.

What do you dislike?

It would be nice if Oceanos offered manual discovery for contacts not available on LinkedIn or in their third-party databases. However, we feel that the LinkedIn verification gives us the majority of the contacts that we need.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Consider your needs: big data vs. highly targeted data. There is still a level of inaccuracy with scraping contacts across LinkedIn, especially through an intermediary that Oceanos uses to retrieve their LinkedIn contacts.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have moved to an account-based sales model which mean we are heavily focused on a select group of accounts in our marketing efforts. As a result, the quality of the contacts linked to those target accounts is essential.

"Versatile tools for database growth & integrity"

What do you like best?

The Marketo-integrated cloud connector is definitely the best feature. Super fast, easy to use and implement, and makes it very simple to target key chunks of contacts for data append or cleanup.

What do you dislike?

They do fall short sometimes when it comes to projects involving non-US data, so it's been trickier for us to build out our international database using Oceanos.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you primarily need non-US database growth assistance, it may not be the best fit. I strongly recommend using them to do "universe-sizing" of your potential audience and then using that to build upon your existing database. Definitely leverage the Cloud Connector plug-in, it's a huge help and very affordable.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our biggest problem is that our audience in particular is VERY niche - both in terms of industry and title. Oceanos has been very useful in uncovering more people that fit that profile than we've been able to find on our own.

"Oceanos data append"

What do you like best?

Our rep was very friendly and accommodating to our requests, and provided timely responses. Overall a pleasant process. I've already recommended Oceanos and our rep to other business units in our company

What do you dislike?

Price is high, but from what we've seen, the quality of data is high and you get what you pay for.

Recommendations to others considering the product

We've used Oceanos for multiple one-off data appends with solid results. Ask for a quality guarantee -- this is a concession they were happy to provide. If we found invalid data, they were willing to give us a credit. We did QA on a sample, data looked good, and we proceeded up update our CRM accordingly.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Segmentation of our existing customer base for email campaigns -- Add-on sales, upgrades, and service-related communications. Getting the right message to the right people, more targeted messaging. We also have an automated nurture program that is dependent on Industry fields. Oceanos helped us fill in the gaps.

"Great data quality and service"

What do you like best?

I've worked with the Oceanos team for several years now and have always found them to be incredibly responsive, creative and reliable. They take a more custom approach to our data needs and work hard to make sure they are delivering exactly what we're looking for - even if that means reiterating on a data set multiple times if our requirements evolve throughout the process. Their social verification services are fantastic and help ensure that we are getting the best quality data available.

What do you dislike?

I've never had a bad experience with Oceanos. No data provider can ever guarantee 100% accuracy but I have to say that Oceanos has been by far the most accurate provider i've ever worked with. The only thing i'd love to see from them is a more extensive international data set.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I've used Oceanos for everything from simple contact list building to current database verification to full blown target account list creation. One of the services I like best is their contact gap analysis which has been incredibly helpful in an account-based marketing strategy to identify which accounts we have full coverage of the buying team and which ones we may be lacking key contacts.

"Great resource for target lists"

What do you like best?

Excellent accuracy in lists. Also enjoyed working with the team to build out segments to ensure I had a good list for what I was trying to accomplish.

What do you dislike?

The only negative i had was the quantity but that is something Im willing to trade off for when it comes to quality. Not as many names as Id like, but all good ones.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I would highly recommend having them run a count for you to see what they have access to in relation to what you are looking for. The CPL is a bit on the higher side compared to other list brokers, but they have the best quality Ive seen and offer 100% replacement!

"Great service and high quality data."

What do you like best?

We get exceptional support from Mike McSharry - always willing to work with us to ensure the final deliverable meets or exceeds our expectations. Brian Hession has also been very valuable and supportive of our partnership. In the rare event that something wasn't quite on-point, Oceanos always worked with us to "make it right".

*Very strong contact level data - especially IT functions.

*Exceptional customer service.

*A truly great partner for our business.

What do you dislike?

While contact level data is very strong in terms of email deliverability and functional information, the strength of the data isn't not as high with aligning actual physical address with the desired contact.

Also, they are currently devoid of international data capabilities. While they have provided referrals, it would be great to work with Oceanos directly.

We partner with Oceanos to deliver quality data in support of lead generation programs we do for our clients as well as our internal efforts. Since the quality is strong, it helps drive efficiencies in our programs while also improving our ability to engage with the "right" personas.

"Great customer service and responsiveness"

What do you like best?

The Oceanos people are very easy to work with and are super helpful in delivering data that fits our needs. We were able to initiate our email campaign with a comprehensive list of qualified leads which resulted in high open rates and subscribers.

What do you dislike?

No issues - had a very positive experience and will continue to work with the team.

Be clear as to your needs and target audience. The better the insight that the Oceanos team has into your needs, the better the deliverable they can provide. They use social profiling for improved accuracy and also listed MAP vendor if applicable.

We were seeking to develop a high quality lead pipeline database that targeted a specific profile of buyer. Our campaign was successful with high deliverability, open rates and subscribers. The time the Oceanos team spent with us upfront to understand our needs and target audience paid off.

"Really enjoyed using OceanOs"

What do you like best?

The customer support was hands down the best I've experienced with any company. I really felt like they valued me as a customer and would go above and beyond to troubleshoot issues and make sure everything was working properly, as well as train me on new features.

Everything was very easy to set up and easy to use.

What do you dislike?

Overall, really enjoy using OceanOs! We noticed here and there that some of the data being returned wasn't 100% accurate, but still better than the software we were using prior.

We have a lot of leads in our database with missing information. We used OceanOs mainly for appending as well as some verification for new leads.

"Optimized data integrity, improved segmentation and targeting, better deliverability and response"

What do you like best?

Oceanos has been a fantastic partner to the Marketing Future Forum in validating the integrity of our data, identifying new segments and data sets (social profiles, technology implementations), and continually growing our database with new companies and new individuals from existing companies. I am constantly amazed with the level of service and fast turnaround time we get from the Oceanos team, starting from the top with Brian. As a result, we have seen significant lift in deliverability, open rate and click throughs, thanks to Oceanos. We are also excited to leverage the new company and contact data Oceanos has uncovered in our sales prospecting efforts.

What do you dislike?

Frankly, we haven't run into any issues at all thus far. We've had a totally great experience with Oceanos.

"Oceanos List Purchases"

What do you like best?

As I’ve worked with Oceanos at companies over the last decade, they’ve continuously taken a thoughtful approach to my data procurement projects. Where most of their competitors have one-size-fits-all service, Oceanos brings a bottoms-up process to their work. They familiarize themselves about a client’s market, target audience, and goals, then apply the knowledge to proposals that make sense. They always seem to stay on the cutting edge of data acquisition practices, ensuring marketers have data that truly fits campaign objectives. Because the data is accurate, it brings winning results.

What do you dislike?

As mentioned above, being process-oriented certainly has pros. A con is that it can take time to prepare proposals.

If you want a data acquisition provider that is part of your team for expertise and reliability, then Oceanos is for you.

"Great customer service"

What do you like best?

Oceanos has been extremely helpful. They reply quickly and get projects done in a timely manner. Whenever I have questions on how a process works they always full explain how it works. They are able to find more contacts or match more of my existing contacts to append than the other vendors we have reached out to with the same projects.

What do you dislike?

The only downside is the same with any data provider that a percentage of the data is always out of date.

We are using Oceanos to acquire new contacts, append existing contacts, and are looking to using them for a more regular data cleansing through their integration with Marketo.

"Oceanos provides us a 360 degree view of our data"

What do you like best?

Oceanos makes the process of data append, cleanse and discovery easy and actionable. They're a smaller shop that provides an extremely dedicated team of resources and support. By partnering with Oceanos, we were able to put together a strategic database cleansing process like never before. They've also been able to take our existing database and perform a data analysis that lets us know where the whitespace is - with their help, we've graduated from traditional methods of just relying on hard bounces, responses and create dates to verify our prospects and customers are still viable and deliverable. They can both socially verify and validate email addresses for your existing data set as well as provide net new names to help fill that whitespace. Not only that but they are responsive and collaborative. I'm truly impressed with their turnaround time with these data projects.

What do you dislike?

Nothing major to report at this time. I feel that has they grow, their Contact GAP Analysis (whitespace analysis) will be easier to absorb and act on - it's a lot of very robust data that some clients may have trouble acting on.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Take a subsection of your database. With any data append project, take it in smaller chunks, especially when starting out, to make sure the results fit your needs.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We've made a big enhancement to our data - we're going above and beyond "hard bounces" captured by our automation system and started stamping our data in SFDC with validation dates and email failure codes. This will allow us to focus in on the email campaign segments we are creating based on whether the email is deliverable, or if the person has been socially verified. Our campaign send numbers are no longer just a collection of whatever is in our database, and therefore the hope is that response rates against that number are more realistic.

In regards to the Contact GAP Analysis, we uncovered target accounts that had zero contacts in our database - this led us to a cleanup project within our database as many were out of business.

Both the product and the service were top notch and my rep, Michael McSherry was so patient in answering all of my client's questions and facilitating delivery.

"Quick, Professional and Exactly What We Needed"

What do you like best?

I liked how easy this process was. Our representative walked us through each of the data clean up line items and explained the benefits of each and how it worked. He was very informed and was able to answer specific questions that we asked to better understand how this service would integrate with our database management processes.

What do you dislike?

There was nothing specific I disliked. The rep didn't try and upsell us heavily on things we did not need and provided a genuine consultation instead. Our meeting was 15 minutes and we got exactly what we needed to get a quote and purchase this service.

The reason we looked for a service like Oceanos was because we needed to standardize data fields, input missing or outdated information and to purge any bad contacts for both email marketing purposes and to make sure our sales reps had accurate information when pursuing contacts as leads.

"Fantastic Service"

What do you like best?

I loved the speed and friendliness of their staff. It was super quick to get what we were looking for and the results were very accurate. I would 100% recommend and work with them again.

That they are on the East Coast, we are based in California, I wish we were in the same time zone!

"Our go-to partner for the most accurate prospecting lists"

What do you like best?

Oceanos data tends to be 90-95% accurate - making them the best partner out there for whitespacing and contact acquisition projects. We rely on them to fill in the gaps and find new contacts at our existing accounts as well as identify companies and contacts that are not currently on our radar. They are quick, efficient and easy to work with.

What do you dislike?

No complaints - working with them has been great.

"Precise contacts for our campaigns and ABM effort"

What do you like best?

Oceanos is able to deliver very high quality contacts at a value, while making sure our current data is always up to date. They are also adept at taking various campaign criteria and developing additional insights into the various data pools that could get a result.

What do you dislike?

I haven't come across anything that I dislike.

We are solving the need for a partner who can do contact development/discovery, as well as other data needs like cleansing. The benefits depend on the campaign goals; several of our efforts have been highly valuable and massively exceeded benchmarks.

"Oceanos - High quality leads and Great Customer Service "

What do you like best?

The Oceanos works hard to find best quality leads and can deliver even the most narrow targeting requirements. In the past when approaching a list purchase of a highly specialized audience, their team members were willing to do get on the phone and discuss different targeting strategies. They certainly have the human element that some other similar services are missing.

What do you dislike?

International list sourcing is limited, but I believe this is rather common across the industry.

Make sure you have a well-developed targeting persona to send over to the team to get the best results.

"Prompt services and very transparent on the process"

What do you like best?

Unlike other Data Management companies, I've received from Oceanos a very positive experience without churn and the most important thing they delivered exactly what was requested. Very good communication and transparency in the roadblocks that occurred during the Project.

What do you dislike?

The only downside I can mention is that they don't have very good data coverage in EMEA.

"This is the only contact acquisition company I'd ever use."

What do you like best?

I like the way that they approach data management. It is not about purchased lists, it's about data health checks, gap analyses, and account based marketing.

What do you dislike?

I have no complaints about anything - Oceanos fulfilled all of our requirements.

If you're looking to build your database without going to list vendors, Oceanos is the way to go. It's the ONLY way to go.

What do you like best?

Oceanos has always been very responsive in helping me source targeted lists. More than a list vendor, they provide guidance on the best approaches to take with data to ensure that the objectives of the program are met. Brian and Holly have both been very responsive and helpful whenever reach out to them. And they always work to accommodate our specific needs.

"Best source for B2B social and contact level data"

What do you like best?

The data is thorough, complete and accurate. Oceanos delivers the highest match rates for social and contact level data of any provider that we tested (and we tested a lot). Their team is incredibly responsive and provides rapid responses to any/all of our questions.

What do you dislike?

Their international footprint is very limited. Once they are able to roll in more international data they'll be unstoppable!

What do you like best?

Oceanos is a solid company, with great technology and super knowledgeable people.

The first time we used them to update a membership list, they delivered a thorough data summary with valuable insights. They use innovative techniques that combine multiple types of technologies, so we were able to look at our data through multiple filters and apply different criteria as needed. "Oceanos is the best around"

What do you like best?

They're the best for list buying, managing, appending data and also database cleansing Have been using Oceanos for more than 10 years. They're my "go-to" for all list data. Great quality, reasonable price(s) superior customer service.

Lead time to get a list can take more time than expected. Also, very little international contact info in certain industries

"I have used the Oceanos platform to scrub, clean, and append our marketo databse."

What do you like best?

The amount of data sources it uses to keep the data clean. I find it very interesting that they can tap into LinkedIn which we all know is typically controlled by the users and that information is more accurate 9 out of 10 times.

What do you dislike?

The consistency sometimes seems off. We've flagged records that were cleaned with Oceanos and a different result occured within a few hours.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Keeping data clean is extremely important to our reporting strategy and keeping the visibility of Marketing and their activities in plain sight for the rest of the company. If that data is inaccurate it's hard to navigate success.

"Very easy to work with!"

What do you like best?

My point of contact, Tim, is responsive, professional, easy to work with, and thorough. Only once, has he not been able to provide an email list for a campaign we're planning. Oceanos email lists have shown themselves to consistently be high-quality, and fairly priced.

What do you dislike?

When they can't fulfill EVERY target criteria I need for a campaign. :)

Looking for in-target contacts for particular prospect email campaigns is the problem we're solving. I've been able to widen my database of in-target contacts when needed.

We like the customization we are able to do to the list before purchasing them. Great company though to buy from

We dislike When we purchase a list but duplicates of the same name are in there from several companies as then we are chasing the lead to the correct company or none at all.

"Professional email campaign assistance"

What do you like best?

Our Oceanos rep is very responsive and always flexible enough to work within our timelines.

What do you dislike?

They seemed inexperienced with formatting html so we had to do nearly all of the html edits on our end.

Finding the most effective forms of marketing for our programs. Email blasts with Oceanos have proved to be very affordable compared to other methods of advertising.

"Fast, Reliable Account Reps"

What do you like best?

Whenever I need a list, I use Oceanos. They know all of the right questions to ask and they are quick to respond.

What do you dislike?

Nothing, so far. We are satisfied with the support re receive.

We are finding the right contacts in our new territories. Without Oceanos, this would take hours and hours of prospecting.

"Great customer service and great data"

What do you like best?

Oceanos is that data provider everyone's been looking for. Their quality is great, and they are speedy with the delivery. Highly recommend them.

What do you dislike?

I don't really have any complaints. They are building other functionality and integrations and hope they continue to do this.

Make sure you test all data providers by sending a sample of 100 or so names/accounts

We sell to a particular type of person, and they are not always the obvious titles. Oceanos has helped us locate those contacts and ensure our data is accurate.

"List Building and Data Artist"

What do you like best?

I've worked with many list/data vendors, but Oceanos is by far and above the best. Data is always immaculate, service is personal, and prices are very reasonable. Fantastic to work with.

What do you dislike?

When I worked with them, it was not a self service platform. We worked through email, but had not issues whatsoever in doing this.

Give them a try.

They are a highly differentiated data intelligence vendor who really get what a long term business relationship means.

What do you like best?

The quick response and ease of use. My rep was very helpful and was able to work with us on the specified criteria we had and was also able to work within our budget.

Perhaps a more definitive outline of how they operate. We were only able to work with a specified data range though we were looking for a little more.

What do you like best?

Oceanos' account managers are highly responsive. The data team works very efficiently, always with a quick turn-around. The emails provided by Oceanos are very high quality and up-to-date (which is difficult since there is a lot of turn-around in the higher-ed industry).

What do you dislike?

I have never experienced an issue with Oceanos.

Oceanos is uniquely adept at marrying together data from various sources to create highly customized and finely segmented data sets...even for the elusive ABM programs.

Would like more data that meets exactly my segmentation

What do you like best?

Brian and Lindsay at Oceanos work alongside you to audit your database and help you figure out exactly what data you need to reach your prospects. The social verification helps to get you the most up-to-date data possible.

What do you dislike?

Because it's a small team, sometimes projects can take a bit longer than anticipated, but the team will do everything they can to get you your data when you need it.

There is a lot of whitespace in our data that we need to incorporate into our email campaigns. Oceanos helps us find and reach those prospects.

What do you like best?

The team at Oceanos has worked closely with us for over two years and has continuously provided us with net new records to help onboard and build our database. They've also done an excellent job with data cleansing and updating our existing database so it's more accurate. There turn around times have been incredible and they always offer insights and best practices when they can.

The integration with Marketo was great and seamless

What do you dislike?

We had no real reporting. We were invoiced for a bulk amount at the end of the term but without a breakout it felt like we were overpaying for data we didn't get.

We're trying to pre-qualify leads. It has freed up our SR's time to really focus on customers that fit our ideal customer profile.

What do you like best?

The social vetting process and the Marketo plug-in.

What do you dislike?

Not much data on overseas contacts, would be good to have them expand more heavily into Western Europe.

Sometimes certin leads can take a while to get back to us, but I understand that it is a large task to track all that information down.
