Anderson Analytics is a market research firm to leverage text analytics and their patent pending SaaS Text Analytics platform OdinText can be used to quickly analyze unstructured data ranging from large scale VoC surveys to customer call center logs/emails or social media data.
We used to do most of our own coding and analysis for open-ended survey questions. It's either tedious (doing it internally) or expensive (contracting out). OdinText really helped us automate most of the work involved and focus on just the parts of the process where we're adding value.
What do you dislike?
I think of OdinText as something built for analysts and engineers, rather than marketers. It's going to require some basic knowledge of what you're trying to accomplish -- it's not going to know what you want to do on its own. But if you have a goal (rather than just randomly fishing around in a sea of text), it's a great value.
Recommendations to others considering the product
Talk to them about a small pilot project, that's how we were able to get our feet wet. It was a good chance to see how the software worked but also get guidance from their engineering team about how best to use the tool.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We use OdinText to analyze open-ended text from online surveys, and to analyze large sets of text that we mine from social media and review sites. It's radically sped up the process and keeps many of the analysis steps consistent (not sensitive to different interpretations by different analysts).
* We monitor all OdinText reviews to prevent fraudulent reviews and keep review quality high. We do not post reviews by company employees or direct competitors. Validated reviews require the user to submit a screenshot of the product containing their user ID, in order to verify a user is an actual user of the product.
