What do you like best?

* Sophisticated flexible architecture that allows us to build our specific business processes into the system

* Application is scalable and supports large databases and rapid growth

* Simple APIs that have a large partner eco-system, application is easy to build upon and extend

* Fantastic customer community (Topliners)

What do you dislike?

* Reporting engine (Insights) can be slow and cumbersome to use. Some reports that seem simple in concept are difficult to create. Also doesn't easily support multiple report administrators.

* Only payment method is charging for contact volume, having a payment method of charging for email volume would help with consumer databases.

* There are some bugs and nuances that can be frustrating at times

Recommendations to others considering the product

I highly recommend Eloqua to any company considering marketing automation software. I've been a customer for 7 years at 4 different companies. It's sophisticated platform, large partner eco-system, and commitment to customers has made me a faithful customer and a major advocate.

What do you like best?

Eloqua has worked very hard to make an application that is easy to visually program. Eloqua forms have extremely powerful post submit processing capacity that is easy to implement.

What do you dislike?

Eloqua has an old and outdated reporting engine. Getting the basics is fairly easy, but cumbersome. Most of the content used in Eloqua is built outside HTML applications so its lack of a modern email and landing page editor is not a huge issue, but will need to be resolved soon.

Recommendations to others considering the product

By far the easiest of the enterprise level tools to use. Make sure and compare how easy setting up forms and form processing is within any application you are putting up against Eloqua. Look at the how simple using standard items like shared components, dynamic components, and landing pages are to use in Eloqua. Tools like Salesforce Marketing Cloud require way too much programming to do simple tasks. Make sure and define how you will be getting names into Eloqua and how simple Yes/No steps in campaigns are done in Eloqua.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

B2B marketing from email marketing, in person and webinar event marketing, to full attribution and influence tracking.

Eloqua works well for a midsize company

What do you like best?

We like that we are able to put projects into action quickly with the templates available in Eloqua.

What do you dislike?

We dislike that there are very few customization options in the template, and we are limited with the visual aspect of how the emails can be seen by the intended audience.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Eloqua is a great system to use in order to reach out to a large group of people to communicate events, webcasts, webinars or other important business needs. We use Eloqua for digital even invitations, primarily to control registration and keep track of those that are attending and interacting with our brand. We have a dedicated team that works on sending out tests of digital emails, and these can be customized in different templates, and help maintain the integrity of our brand. We are able to use our brand colors, font, and ensure that our brand voice is heard through the email that our intended audience is receiving. The click-ability and overall appearance is professional and visually appealing, and is much more effective than a generic email from an automated system. I have been mostly happy with my user experience with sending out Eloqua emails to our clients, prospects and COIs.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

For a larger business, it is imperative that communications come across in a professional manner, rather than through a generic email, and Eloqua allows companies to connect quickly with a large group of people in a short amount of time.

What do you like best?

Eloqua has been incremental in ensuring our organizational success in the B2B space. It is a vital aspect of our marketing program and we would not be able to effectively execute our complex marketing campaigns without it. I love the ability to quickly implement our strategies and ensure there are a multitude of fail safes to sure our campaign will go smoothly. Utilizing features like dynamic content and the campaign canvas quickly allow you to see why Eloqua is the best platform on the market.

What do you dislike?

Eloqua could improve on it's WYSIWYG email and landing page builder but from what I understand this is on the road map. It also has an outdated UI on the reporting tool but this is slowing being updated with a new version. The app cloud partners are somewhat limited but if you feel comfortable with utilizing the API or only have limited need for partner apps this would be a limited concern.

Compare it to the competitors and you will quickly see how much better it is.

Eloqua has allowed us to scale at lightning speed and ensure that the only limitation to our marketing plan is our imagination. We have been able to easily execute and grow within the platform as our organization grows and Eloqua has done great to accelerate that growth. Eloqua has allowed us to easily transform our marketing program as new trends change within the industry and can ensure that the automation platform is not the limiting factor to any success we are working to achieve.

What do you like best?

What I like most about Oracle Eloqua is the ease a Campaign can be configured on the Campaign canvas. The UI is user friendly and lets you quickly setup a comprehensive campaign in only a few minutes. The way the components interact is seamless, forms, segments everything comes together and connects on the Canvas.

What do you dislike?

Insights in Integrations, logging could be better. Including batch ID's in the logging would be very beneficial. Also looking forward to A/B Testing functionality, community and clients have been waiting for this for a long time. Luckily this is now on the Roadmap. The insights on platform use could also be improved.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Great tool for your Marketing Automation. When considering Eloqua please review how many (potential)customers you will be targeting, what size is your current database of contacts?

Lead Nurturing and Lead Generation. With the -right campaigns with the right content at the right time -you're able to nurture and generate leads through Oracle Eloqua.

What do you like best?

The integration options makes it easy to connect Eloqua with other products within the marketing landscape. The fact that you have standard integrations with several major CRM systems but at the same time are able to build your own integration is very nice. Next to this, you can build your own connections using the AppCloud Developer framework which gives you the possibility to build feeder, decision action and some other services.

Next to the integration, I like the campaign canvas more and more, it gives a very clear overview of your campaign and with the easy drag and drop solution you can expand your campaign within seconds.

What do you dislike?

Oracle needs some time to get back up to speed after they purchased Eloqua. The roadmap has some promising things on it, but it still takes a while before they arrive. Some of the features that are planend for the future are already standard within the competitor solution

Recommendations to others considering the product

make sure that the product fits your needs before you take the decision. Eloqua itself has a lot of features that might be overwhelming. Also, make sure you actually need the specific features of Eloqua. In case you have a short sales cycle, it might be more interesting to look at Oracle Responsys instead of Eloqua. Are you a multinational and looking for a solid Marketing Automation solution, no need to look further!

Automated campaigns that can run over extended periods, and personalisation of outgoing messages (both emails and text messages) making the customer feel more valued

Complex marketing automation tool

What do you like best?

Oracle Eloqua is a fascinating product given the depth and breadth of marketing automation capabilities. Recent UI enhancements have made the system visually more appealing. The Campaign Canvas makes the set up and execution of campaigns easy, and the integration with Salesforce and cloud apps available (GoToWebinar) speed campaign tracking.

What do you dislike?

We're a SME business and the tool is just too big for our organization. We have four administrators worldwide and Eloqua is only part of our roles. If Eloqua were our sole responsibility I'm sure we would use the more to our advantage.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Enables our organization to engage with customers and prospects via email marketing, allows the creation of landing pages and forms, and is the single location where all of our marketing prospect data is stored.
