The system access and end user experience is excellent. The system has been well received by non-financial end users, as well as seasoned financial professionals. Directly related to the positive end user experience is the Oracle Smart View for Office (Smart View). Smart View provides a common Microsoft Office interface designed specifically for Oracle's Enterprise Performance Management (EPM). Budgeting and planning data can be viewed, adjusted and sent back to the Oracle Cloud using Excel as the primary interface.
There is nothing specific that falls into the category of "dislike". We utilize Smart View to report, and it works extremely well. In my opinion, some further development of the web-based interface reporting suite (Reporting Web Studio) would be well received.
There have been a number of business problems solved with Oracle EPM Cloud, including:
- Accessibility - Budgeting and Planning data that can be accessed, and updated online. No need to be working at the office to review and make changes.
- Control – end users access can be controlled down to the lowest node to ensure business confidentiality is maintained. Access rights are centrally controlled by our Administrator.
- Visibility – it’s easy to track the progression of each area’s budget during the cycle.
- Global assumptions – can be applied centrally and devolved seamlessly across the budget.
