Best cost-benefit ratio - 100% recommended

What do you like best?

The best thing about ovh is the cost of services, there is no company with which you can compare the costs they offer. We have been working with ovh since 2011 and the benefits we have achieved have really been great. They are quite responsible for the contract, if something happens that is outside the contract they apply the SLA and they compensate you for the damages caused.

The range of products offered are quite varied in the web and basically cover all fields, from a load balancer to a simple hosting for people.

Its Virtual Datacenter platform is super complete and all its products are self-managing in a simple way.

What do you dislike?

What has always worried me a bit about ovh is the support, they have been characterized by offering an automation to 1000% I imagine to try to give full responsibility to the contractor, However they have a product that is premium technical support with the that you receive immediate technical support in several ways, is the one I recommend, otherwise, you would have to use the ticket system and just wait for answers.

Recommendations to others considering the product

- Make use of the backup system that ovh owns and that is totally free.

- Make this data backup in addition.

- Request direct support by mail is quite effective.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

- Improve service costs that is really important when planning the budget.

- Complete automation to solve any problem ourselves.

- I avoid problems of overload with all the infrastructures that I use of ovh.

- I have a lot of products in one place.

Great self-service hosting solution at very competitive pricing

What do you like best?

Obviously the key with OVH hosting is the price, which is much lower than most of their competitors for superior or equivalent features. We also like that there's no concept of a long-term contract with OVH, everything is based on a monthly agreement basic.

What do you dislike?

The lack of any advanced technical support or deployment help. OVH is more like a cheap priced, self-service hosting solution. So if you try to deploy your software on a OVH hosting plan/server and meet some kind of issues, don't expect to find any answer at OVH technical support, because it's not part of the deal!

Recommendations to others considering the product

When you choose OVH as your web hosting solution, be aware that you will get a self-service hosting solution and you need to have very high skill in web application and software deployment. If you are looking for a turnkey solution, you should definitely consider another provided such as GoDaddy. However if you are looking for a cheap hosting solution to host your own solution, OVH is definitely a great company to consider. I also need to mention that they are currently developing some solution that would be more like turnkey. OVH is a fast growing company and they are improving quickly.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We needed a reliable hosting solution, located inside the Canada (OVH Canada datacenter is at Beauharnois, QC) and we needed a web host that own all of the highest security certifications and OVH own them all.

OVH experience

What do you like best?

The best thing about ovh is that it has a wide range of product support from hosintg services, VPS, dedicated servers and so on. Another good thing is that all prices are very cheap and let you experiment feature for small period of times, let you change service whethever you want. Another good thing is that they own lot of bandwidth so we never had bandwidth issues.

What do you dislike?

Support is very poor, i've contacted them many times without active solution of problems. Some time heappens that we had problems and the support negate the evidence of them, saying that it was our problem and so closed the ticket without resolution.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Pay attention that ovh support is very bad and slow to reply to your ticket, minimum before a reply you can wait 24-48 hours, reciving a response not correct.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We externalized some services, like, VPN, hosting server and some dedicated server. We also migrate some customer to dedicated VPS. We also made a node for backup of our infrastructure from another cloud service.

Horrible support, wonky IP block setup

What do you like best?

They have a decent line of hosting products and options to make things work.

What do you dislike?

Support is horrendous, if things don't just magically work for you, expect to go multiple weeks without responses on your tickets, especially if they require any level of skill to answer properly. I'd say my normal response time at this point is somewhere around 3 weeks.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make sure you have adequate means to support yourself without their assistance. They offer a lot of services but fall down when it comes to getting you answers you need to safely implement specific configurations. Customers are able to easily affect each other on the infrastructure with improper configurations.

We are using them for all infrastructure hosting. We are using their private cloud product and some VPS and dedicated servers.

My oldest partner on web

What do you like best?

Good prices and good values.

API-centric management platform.

Support staff understands technical issues.

Full bandwidth by default.

OVH is my oldest partner on web. And I handled numerous web projects.

We met in 2003, after 5 years managing our physical web servers on a University network line.

I chose OVH for the same values they're in 15 years later: technical intelligence on board, even on phone :) ... and they are GPRD-friendly from the beginning.

Best price, very reliable, innovative and ecologic

What do you like best?

This is an eco-responsible company in a business know to be bad for the planet. Their innovative way of cooling their datacenter, the large and performant network they manage around the globe, the proximity to users of their datacenter, and the quality of their services are the big advantage of OVH over many competitors. We are using their services for years, and I could count on single hand the incident I have suffer from, and their time for repair were also very short.

What do you dislike?

The efficiency of their support for minor or administrative problems is a real pain. When they have a know incident for which they are obviously responsible, they usually fix it fast and efficiently. But when you have an individual issue where it is not so clear who is responsible, or when their management UI has made wrong operation despite your proper usage, it is terribly difficult to have a result in support, or it takes weeks to get a very small improvement.

Recommendations to others considering the product

For any hosting needs, I would recommend OVH, but don't expect them to help you, just expect their service to be top quality and their network to be the most reliable and efficient worldwide (almost).

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are hosting our servers in their premise since we have stop buying and hosting our server in our own premises. The quality of their network and of the hardware they providing is just unbeatable for the price they offer, even when you do it yourself.
