"Very easy POS with almost everything you need"

What do you like best?

Super simple to program and control, nice reports and decent hardware. The POS also basically includes everything you need with lots of features. No need to go to another party for additional features like loyalty and on-line ordering or scheduling. It's all built into the system. The support we get from PAR is excellent too. Replacing broken hardware was quick and easy. We also liked that the POS integrated seamlessly without above store reporting package from Decision Logic.

What do you dislike?

The menu programming is not very flexible for multi-unit and multi-concept chains. They need a better way to stage and push menu changes. The current publishing methods can cause issues too easily. Things like open orders can become un-closable from an update mid-day. Also, to get on-line ordering working we had to switch our normal credit card processing company.

Recommendations to others considering the product

The setup is best performed by PAR technicians. So if you are used to doing yourself, you will feel a bit odd with this format of support.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We wanted a very modern POS for a new concept with tablet style ordering and newer payment methods. PAR was able to get most of it going day one, but waiting for newer payment methods to come to market first. Our new concept was a simple concept too, so the simplistic methods used in PAR met our needs extremely well.

"It makes your job easier"

What do you like best?

I like that I can log in and clock in and out pretty easy and that a sales transaction can be completed in a number of seconds compared to a old cash register which might take at the most 60 Seconds or more

What do you dislike?

How to start off I think that it is a very smart intelligent operating system there's little things that I do not like for instance the screen timeout whenever I'm trying to take an order and they're taking a long time to tell me what they want another is certain buttons like the $50 bill button

I'm recommended to any company trying to lift there sales margin

"An Improvement in POS Tech"

What do you like best?

Brink POS is a cloud-based platform, which runs on a variety of devices. Further, it does not rely on an in-house server, so if your main computer goes down, your registers will still operate. However, an active and robust internet connection is required.

The software is easy to use, and decently well-designed. It is optimized for touch. The POS system can be updated easily, and boot times are generally much quicker.

What do you dislike?

As compared to some other platforms, which are showing their age, Brink POS is a good update for the future. Is it perfect? No - it does have it's own little quirks - but it's a good step in the right direction. Once an item is rung in, it stays selected, and must be un-selected before selecting a different item to modify.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The system is much more responsive - the registers are quick to boot up, and are not reliant upon a back office server. They are compatible with separate payment devices, which are chip and Apple Pay capable.

"Par Ready for the Future"

What do you like best?

Brink is expandable with our business. It is very user-friendly from the Front of House side. Hardware is robust. Simple to operate. Sales Team is great and available to you.

What do you dislike?

Back of house systems only work on Silverlight which limits accessibility to make changes on the fly. Need to go through support more that needed. Heard that will change in 2019

Sales Management. Clean API to integrate with other outside platforms..

"PARConnect Review"

What do you like best?

I loved the dialogue between Brink customers. It was fantastic to hear how other compnaies were dealing with issues or what sort of work arounds people have been leveraging.

What do you dislike?

There was a lot of vendor talks. I wish I could of spent more time to focus on the Brink platform or relevant

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

WE use Brink to leverage labor and sales management. The biggest benefit from their software is how sophisticated the cloud capabilities are in contrast to other systems.

"Advanced Technology but disappointed with Basic Functionality"

What do you like best?

Web based internet access, immediate updating of all locations, access to timely data from all locations.

What do you dislike?

Inability for the system to display the correct calculations of basic math on promotions and refunds. Inconsistency with approvals on credit card transactions getting back to Brink so that a check can get closed out. The inability of Brink to resolve such basic yet highly important issues

Efficiencies with database management, real time data, and the API with Restaurant Magic/Data Central

"Brink Software is a great POS with a lot of continuing potential."

What do you like best?

Brink is a cloud based software, with many built in features that would otherwise be an additional cost when compared to other point of sale companies.

What do you dislike?

The pricing structure is different but expected. Occasionally the support team can take some time to to respond, and are not always knowledgable as restaurant operators.

Make sure the software meets your requirements, and use all the tools supplied to you.

"No Frills Pos software!"

What do you like best?

This is a great entry level POS system. I recently upgraded to Par Brink after having the basic Windows XP one. All my employees understood how to use it and were able to transition smoothly and quickly.

What do you dislike?

The interface looks somewhat outdated. Other than that, it’s perfect!

It allows me to put the quantity of items I have on hand.

What do you like best?

Cloud based system is great for management and access to data from anywhere. Ability to export data into our systems. Integrations with third parties work well.

What do you dislike?

Lack of tools to make managing multiple restaurants, menus, and items easier.

"Very happy as an integrator"

What do you like best?

The simplicity of the integration process and the feature set that's available basically out of the box when integrated.

What do you dislike?

The silo'd support teams. I would prefer that Brink Support and API support had a better cross-communication platform.

A much smoother integration process for our clients. Launchign new restaurants within a day sometimes.

What do you like best?

Ease of use! Easy to learn how to use!!!

What do you dislike?

Very few features compared to other POS systems

for small units, it is a wonderful system. For a multi-unit setup, it is horrendous

Almost no scalable Enterprise/multi-store features. It is incredibly easy to fall out of synch in the system.

"Great POS system for enterprise groups"

What do you like best?

Brink sales professionals truly do consult with potential clients to find solutions for them. Many orgs say this but Brink actually does it. Their technology is also scalable for many enterprise groups in ways that the most new POS systems cannot.

What do you dislike?

We have not heard any complaints thus far so I cannot comment on downside.

Our clients are able to get business insights in real time with Brink being a cloud-based solution. This also means updates can be pushed out to locations immediately.

"Using Brink for Over a Year"

What do you like best?

Cloud-based system. No back-office server.

What do you dislike?

Current mechanism to send down changes and manage settings is in need of upgrade to HTML5 based platform.

"Got it all"

What do you like best?

Cloud based confidence on the counter, flexibility and reporting capabilities that meet almost all our needs.

What do you dislike?

They need to stabilize on line time for on line ordering.

"Brink - The POS you want"

What do you like best?

How it is easy to integrate with your loyalty platform and turn on the dashboard settings in order to activate/deactivate features.

What do you dislike?

Support at times is really difficult to get access to.

Our business partner, loyalty partner for restaurant industry. I really like the Cloud Data Hosting and always up to date API's. Provides good analytics

The solution is great when working. The idea behind it and how integrations work

What do you like best?

The communication and the simply top-notch API.

What do you dislike?

The provisioning process is a little odd. Emails coming from clients can be difficult to control. If we could forward signed contracts that would trigger the provisioning, it would be smoother.

Cloud reporting and setup. Very feature Rich.

Not being able to choose House Account by a list of names. Not being able to turn off credit vouchers. Support line needs help.
