Pardot makes B2B marketing simple and fun!

What do you like best?

The connectors make Pardot effective for our business. There are many tools available for email marketing, but Pardot's connectors to other important products our business uses makes email marketing and marketing automation much more efficient and effective. The implementation and support teams are awesome. They really know the ends and outs of Pardot and marketing techniques which helped us implement efficiently, understand the product and its capabilities, and immediately begin to use it without the need to test everything before sending live.

What do you dislike?

The sync time between Pardot and Salesforce is a bit lengthy when making edits in Salesforce that need to be used in Pardot. For example, if I change status options for a campaign in Salesforce, it takes hours for the two systems to "talk" and push the new data. This is an issue when trying to quickly change completion actions.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

Pardot has solved the problem of poor tracking from our previous email marketing tool as well as easily capturing bad email addresses. With Pardot's tracking capabilities, we can see our customers engagement (or lack there of) and do a better job of nurturing interactions. It's also helped us realize how many customers are not being reached merely because of a bad email address which can be a quick fix and a good touch point with old customers.

Pardot for SAAS

What do you like best?

Pardot is great in that it has many connections to external services that give you better insights into your contact's digital body language. From the Wistia connector (which allows you to see which videos & how long your contacts are viewing) to the Google Analytics connector (which allows you to see interactions with your web properties) it's awesome to be able to segment based on very granular interactions. This gives our sales & marketing teams incredible insights on our prospects and customers.

I can't say enough about the Pardot support team. They are almost always available through chat and they always followup on cases in a timely manner. It's great to be able to get answers to questions as you are actually in the product working.

As a client I have good visibility of the Pardot product roadmap. My client advocate checks in with me on a regular basis and always loops me in on the latest and greatest improvements to the product.

What do you dislike?

I mentioned the connectors earlier. One thing I would love to see is the ability to segment users based on their interactions with Wistia videos.

It would also be helpful for more comprehensive lifecycle reporting. It would be awesome to be able to pull Google Analytics goals in Pardot.

This is not necessarily a need for improvement, but just a point of concern. Pardot has recently been acquired by Salesforce, and they are already are making many improvements for Salesforce users. My company uses Sugar and I expect their support of Sugar to become a lesser priority as time goes on.

Recommendations to others considering the product

First thing I would do is ask them to define their goals and why they think they need a marketing automation system like Pardot. We would then have to examine their current marketing practices and where they want to grow in the near future. If they are looking for a good email marketing system only, Pardot is probably not the system for them. But if they want the ability to gain intelligence into their prospect's actions with their company's email, website, online advertising etc. then Pardot is probably the way to go.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

Pardot has allowed us to segment our audience not just based on demographic information but on behavioral aspects as well. This allows us to target more efficiently.

Our sales team has become a more real-time sales team. Page view alerts & the general ability to see people interacting with pages as they are viewing it allow us to always keep the most active prospects in our sights.

A new subscriber drip has helped us reduce our cancellation rate.

Pardot Review

What do you like best?

The synching capabilities to Salesforce allow us to track activities for all of our marketing channels. It also allows us to report and analyze successful campaigns. The employees and support at Pardot are absolutely phenomenal and are always eager to help.

We are so grateful to have had Kate as our implementation specialist. She always has a solution or knows who to work with at Pardot to get something fixed. I know all of the employees work like her but she is hands down, the BEST.

We looked at other marketing automation companies but Pardot is the best decision we ever made for our marketing efforts. Especially now since they work directly with our CRM provider, we are able to drill down to prospects' first activity and see their history over their lifetime.

What do you dislike?

The previews for landing pages and email can be different than what is actually showing so it takes a few tries to get it right. Pardot has been working on this issue for a while but although it's better than what it was, it still needs some help.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Work with your implementation specialist to put together a plan of needs and expectations. Pardot has amazing employees and we are so grateful to have chosen Pardot over the other marketing automation companies we quoted.

Pardot allows us to manage all of our marketing efforts in one place and be able to track everything. It also ties into our CRM, Salesforce, which gives our sales team a look into prospects' and clients' activity history.

The power of Salesforce + Marketing Automation

What do you like best?

3 buckets of what is best about Pardot.

Salesforce Integration: Pardot's salesforce integration gives you the power of salesforce inside of marketing automation. The ability pull dynamic lists based on what is happening live in your CRM is incredible. Additional capabilities that I love is the reporting that we are able to obtain on Adwords campaigns and any utm campaign that we run. It allows us to tie these prospects directly to opportunities.

Updates: Pardot is great about letting you know when new features are released and have great training around what your use case will be for these features.

Customer Support: Incredible client advocate team to help you through every step of the way when you have strategic questions and customer support team when you're experiencing technical difficulties.

What do you dislike?

I dislike not being able to see which webpages my opportunties/customers/prospects are visiting on an aggregate level. I'm not able to see how many of each segment visit each page, which would be useful for redesign/messaging testing.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Definitely work closely with your implementation specialist when you first start. If you are a start up like my company, do not think that you can set it up on your own because you will be better off listening to help from your implementation specialists!

We have automated an entire portion of our lower acquisition cost customers through e-commerce. Through marketing automation we've been able to increase automated revenue through this segment by 100% in the past 6 months.

The best marketing automation tool for SMBs

What do you like best?

We previously used Marketo and were frustrated with how complex it was, the awful customer support and the amount of time it took to set up campaigns. We thought maybe marketing automation wasn't right for us and we weren't going to be able to learn a system, since we invested so much time in consulting with Marketo and nothing panned out. After making the switch to Pardot our fears were erased - the support was awesome from Day 1. Every question we had was answered immediately and support went above and beyond to help us out. In addition, the system is intuitive and so easy to use. We didn't encounter problems learning it or setting it up and we were off the ground running with our system customized and campaigns ready to go within a month. One of the things we like best about Pardot is the people we work with at the company. What do you dislike?

There's not much we dislike. If there are difficulties or problems, we are able to address them with Pardot and get problems. resolved. We do wish they had more in-person events/conferences that were focused on Pardot-specific learning that we could attend.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you are using SFDC and are looking to move away from another marketing automation system or an email provider, I would highly recommend you use Pardot. The SFDC integration is seamless and marketing and sales love it.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

We are now able to segment prospects and put them on an appropriate nurturing track instead of mass-emailing everyone in our database. In addition, we have the ability to market to cold leads with drip programs so that when they are ready to reengage we are who they will talk to. We've really benefited from using a system that allows us to tie in our digital and content efforts to see the ROI of what we are doing.
