"Great product when leveraged for what it is good at"

What do you like best?

Pega is extremely versatile and it is extremely easy to create new applications to handle tasks. As a business user I was able to learn the software easily and am able to create and update various aspects of our application on my own.

What do you dislike?

Setup is critical... the consulting company that developed our initial release made some decisions on configuration of the application that we have been working to unravel.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Implementation is key. The closer you keep to ootb functionality the easier it is to maintain. Product really excels for BPM. The process we're using it for doesn't fit quite into that box so there are a lot of custom processes that can become difficult to weed through and maintain.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our team uses Pega to manage a rebate program. We have increased visibility into the transactions that are going on in our system and have an easier time deploying updates to logic for the behind the scenes processes.

"Robust but not that reliable"

What do you like best?

The integration of PEGA Robotics within Visual Studio is perfectt. Allows you to develop in multiple frameworks to bring a better RPA product. The visual tool is perfect to a better design of the solution.

What do you dislike?

The PEGA robotics tool is very ambiguous in terms of application. When a function is implemented, the reality is different from the documentation or the "theorical" description. Hard to develop with accuracy with this kind fo problems. The controls interrogated for the RPA features, fails a lot.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Try to make a benchmarking with other RPA tools and decide which one is best suited for your applications. Other tools like Ui Path, Automation Anywhere or Blueprisim would do a good benchmark

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We were using PEGA robotics to develop RPA solutions within the company. RPA projects with the call center, taxes and Human Resources departments to automate processes.

Vendor dependency - understanding the class structure is important and it eventually causes organization or project teams to be dependent on the vendor.

Implementing a new customer care tool. Pega allowed collection of real-time Data, interactions and transactions across disparate systems of records which brought real-time & contextual view of the customer without overloading

Pega provided users with intent driven solution, that aided them, whilst removing the manual, repetitive tasks that took so long historically, and massively improved productivity and efficiency.

"Fast paced development tool for Customer Success "

What do you like best?

Development in Pega platform is always business centric and most of the requirements can easily be completed by the out of the box available solutions in pega. Even if you have to customize some things according to your business scenario you can easily do that in fraction of time. Out of the box support for business service levels and approval process is great. Pega Platform also provides application frameworks for industry specific implementation of products which is also great as we can develop our customize requirements on top of that while having most of the application structure to reuse.

What do you dislike?

Pega platform provides extensive guidelines to develop application in pega specified way, i.e avoid guardrails warnings but some requirements are required to invoke warnings in those cases the performance of the application is hampered significantly.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Workflow system for creating customer onboarding for different products is implemented in pega. Pega platform provides us easily configurable development of application in short sprints to develop and deliver product in agile mindset.

Currently Working in an Application which is Call Center Based and One of the Largest Insurance Provider in all over the World. From Day1 of this Application, Pega is being used. The reason was Build - Automate - Engage.Till now, either the Client or the Consultant never ever regret of using this tool. Day by day, it just don't save the Money but build the trust. And that matters.

"Pega is Great for Case Management"

What do you like best?

The flexibility that Pega gave our organization to create a "Get Next" Case Management platform was just what we needed as our business was evolving and requirements were sometimes changing. In several different instances, we had to adjust the search engine, dropdown menus, attachment interface, etc. And each change was not only POSSIBLE, but relatively easily done.

What do you dislike?

We have had a problem maintaining strong performance (quick response times) from our Pega-based platform as the size of the database grows. We have tried different ways to store attachments that will increase our efficiency but still struggle with this problem over time.

Ensure you have the proper team in place to support this platform going forward.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Building a clinical case management system from scratch. We have benefited greatly from the flexibility of this platform as the business grows and changes.

"Pega is awesome, but there are some issues"

What do you like best?

Best thing in Pega is OOTB integrations and other things that allow you to make complicated things in a simple way. That is really awesome benefit, you can concentrate on implementing some logic rather than fixing issues with another fancy framework in traditional programming languages.

What do you dislike?

Just like you can do complicated things in a simple way, simple things often require quite complicated approach. Some UI change which is quite simple in HTML-CSS style could take hours of implementing in a Pega way (and to be honest usually you end up writing custom javascript/html/css/whatever. Also some issues that are not supposed to exist but they do exist - like agent doesn't pick up queue item just because it doesn't and so on.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Mostly some financial solutions. Best benefit as I told before is integrations, that's really a thing .

"Pega customer experience"

What do you like best?

-Frequent update of the Pega platform to keep upto date with the market and competetors

-Figuring out the use cases where Pega can be utilized at its best

What do you dislike?

-Too flashy / too promising sales videos

-Stabilisation of the product / finding the POC customer to see how the product / framework really works before product is released into the actual market

Recommendations to others considering the product

Look at the content within the frameworks / strategic applications with an LSA and LBA together and see if it really fits your Customer and set the expectations right in terms of timeliness or whats available already

-Worked on healthcare , financial, customer service.Best I could see so far from my 8 years of experience with pega is quick deployments with which customers are really happy to see the changes they asked for in no time.

What do you like best?

I have been working with Pega for past seven years and below are the key things that I like the most -

1. Pega keeps evolving with time. I find it a lot more easier to develop BPM application using Pega these days compared to seven years ago.

2. Pega has succeeded to provide a faster and easier development experience over time.

3. Pega provides excellent support to the issues faced developers which are reported in the forms of SR.

4. Integration with different systems has become easier with Pega over time.

5. Developing attractive UI used to be a lot of pain in Pega even a few years back but not anymore.

6. OOTB handy features have improved over time significantly.

What do you dislike?

Over the years I have witnessed Pega making huge progress in every aspect where a developer would want this to excel. I think Pega could become even more powerful tool if -

1. More handy OOTB features are added.

2. OOTB product packaging features are made more easier/faster.

3. Performance monitoring is improved.

Pega is an excellent choice for implementing applications in an agile way. As a Pega developer with seven years of experience in application development for major clients spread all over the world, I can state with full confidence that I am satisfied using Pega across the different stages of project life cycle - starting from requirement capturing to design, development and application deployment. I would also like to express my thanks to Pega community to for providing extensive support to developers when needed. "PEGA - It's certainly build for Change"

What do you like best?

Pega platform is an one stop solution to transform business use cases with least of coding involved. It's Case management and decisioning features makes it such a robust platform to accommodate any change business want to make to the application again with least of base code modification as everything runs on versions and persevered to switch between them per business demands.

What do you dislike?

System administration and management needs to be focused and enhanced with more features so admins can manage the application and issues.

Upgrade to a major version requires lot of retrofitting as there would be a lot of changes to the application to adjust with the new platform. I know the current upgrade process is easy but retrofitting has been real challenge.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our business in healthcare Insurance domain has multiple different business ends, but again all of them needs to be connected to streamline the business process end to end.

Pega has been instrumental in achieving that goal and today we have most of our business process supporting applications running on Pega platform maintaining the case life cycle of new enrollment request until it's reaches to fulfillment, this has increases productivity and reduced fulfillment SLAs.

What do you like best?

In Pega Platform UI Is the best and It has all the features easily Understood.

Great number of reusable/ OOTB components giving less effort on development but still flexible for complex business requirements.

They also have a good customer service for their product issue and concern.

Their training courses are also accessible online which is a good one given the expensive cost when you have an onsite training.

What do you dislike?

"Reliable platform, good customer service"

What do you like best?

Great number of reusable/ OOTB components giving less effort on development but still flexible for complex business requirements. They also have a good customer service for their product issue and concern. Their training courses are also accessible online which is a good one given the expensive cost when you have an onsite training.

What do you dislike?

Exclusivity of reference information. Pega has its own developer site where they share helpful information as well as the developers however to access it, you have to be a member of their client/ partner which is a challenge when you are a freelance/ disengaged with those.

Implementing Pega is quite a cost, but it's all worth it.

It has to be combined with good application design and good understanding of the business requirement to apply the most suitable product/ framework Pega can offer to reduce the development work/ improve the business process

Extending the access of the system to the external users - reducing the use of papers on application and effort on lodgment.

It also provide a better view of the progress of the application on external users' end.

"Build for change "

What do you like best?

The ability to create bpm solutions faster. Even a person with least programming experience having knowledge on pega can build the solutions with ease.

What do you dislike?

it's costlier to get trained in pega. And some what difficulty in finding courses.

"Pega, the pros and cons"

What do you like best?

Customisability and ease of use its software provides are definitely highlights of the PEGA platform. Aside from this there is generally less coding which helps to eliminate user orientated errors, making everything a lot more transparent in terms of what can has gone right and what has gone wrong. Generally speaking, the PEGA platform promotes adaptation to change and quick developments .

What do you dislike?

If there is a need to integrate external products to complete what you are trying to achieve, there may be compatibility issues with regards to potentially having to rewrite certain aspects of your project to allow for this to happen. It can be pretty expensive.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I was using this product during part of my training to learn the platform incase of future use. There is plenty of supporting documentation, and tutorials to help you learn about the product.

"Rapid way of developing the appication"

What do you like best?

software writing the software. Develop many things at the click of the button.

New features which are in-lined with the industry norms are really great (be it RPA, App Studio, AI etc)

Great support from labs.

Great marketing as well.

nothing as of now. may be i feel it rigid some times when dont have OOTB feature. But I understand reason though.

The self sufficient and well defined knowledge base.

The variety of of the shelf features and continuous addition and research for the new features.

The high price of classroom and online trainings. Also the product is a bit high price with respect to other BPM products in Market.

If you are looking for well defined and customizable BPM solution and if your company has a plan for embracing and exploring innovation opportunities to ease and optimize the business processes with the right acceleration, then Pega is the best choice for you. What do you like best?

I like the Pega Robotic Studio tool the most. As most of the leading firms are very keen towards switching to Robotic Process Automation.

As the market is growing demand for the resources is growing as well.

So this platform satisfies most of the needs for a Learner.

There should have been more content for Robotic Process Automation.

What do you like best?

The graphical user interface that presents complex logic in an intuitive way. It allows you to focus on the actual business logic rather then how to code it.

What do you dislike?

The technology will always be a bit behind it terms of UX and UI. How fantastic would it be if it would be a front-runner

Use out of the box features to fulfill your business needs, don't go full custom. Also take a good look at your data-model as I think it is one of the most important aspects within Pega applications.

"A great application design tool"

What do you like best?

I love that Pega is accessible for beginners, as well as tenured veterans of the software development world. It doesn't matter if your background is 10 years of coding, or 3 months of serving coffee, there is an entry point for everyone. I think this has great appeal in the marketplace, as it reduces the fear factor of having an uncontrollable beast requiring software guru's to maintain

What do you dislike?

I do feel that areas of the marketing platform seem to have been rushed, and that whole side of the suite doesn't seem to run as smoothly as the core BPM rules and processes (I've only used until 7.22 so perhaps the improvements are already out there)

I really like that the Pega platform is so versatile, and intuitive. The possibilities seem fairly endless to streamline your system.

"So great an RPA system, that I have cybersecurity issues."

What do you like best?

I like the no coding approach of Pega for RPA and the development time from design to production being so small. It has great Data integration and cloud support, and a good suite of pre-trained A.I algorithms.

What do you dislike?

Presently, I am quite satisfied with Pega, but would like to see the security and authentication improved, also I would request more support for custom server implementations for Pega RPA.

Pega is a great product and one of the best available in the market, I would recommend going with Pega for improved business opportunities.

I am trying to automate interviewing process, with mock interviews and question and answer RPA. I am trying to lobby for the replacement of interviews with data mining. I have achieved a fair degree of success, with many organizations facing out the interview process.

"The Future of Rapid Application Development?"

What do you like best?

As a very senior application developer, having a set of tools that allow me to design and build RAPID prototypes that can be readily adapted toe dynamics of user story telling and deployed with ease has always been an elusive dream. I feel the Pega Platform is on the verge of not just solving the "wicked" problems of the SDLC, but providing the kind of CONTROLLED AGILITY that will allow us to readily ADAPT to the ever changing Informational needs of our users, our customers and our business.

What do you dislike?

I am frankly disappointed by the shortage of OOTB UI capabilities and I have never been a fan of a proprietary technology model that does not allow me to build and distribute only to other proprietary environments. I am still struggling to understand the nuances of the Pega Platform environment From my perspective their definition of terms is so inconsistent, they would make Socrates cry..

I want to have a single platform that I can use to track, design.build and deploy ALL my solutions. I want my users, customers, managers, and even executives to be able to say, "Here's my story, I would like a demo next week". I would like my fellow developers to say, "I understand how to use the Pega Platform to produce better, cheaper, faster, value added solutions such that if I get by the Beer truck, the next guy up won't miss a beat" These are the benefits I hope to realize.

"Pega Platform Review"

What do you like best?

The Pega Platform has a large volume of tools and objects that allow to construct any kind of automation. And the most important thing about the Pega Platform that is differentiated from the other competitors is the large community of users that share questions and answers.

What do you dislike?

Some interfaces, as SAP, showed some complications when I tried to interrogate. I had to use several sendkeys because I couldn't interrogate some buttons. Furthermore, I think that the Pega could change the format of the blocks in the automation (triangle for the decisions, for example).

Recommendations to others considering the product

I highly recommend the Pega Platform for those who want to automate processes even not having a programming background.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have a big RPA initiative for every department in the company trying the automatize repetitive tasks that doesn't bring value. In my case, I'm developing an automated robot that manage all the maintenance plan of a factory.

"Amazing UI Experience"

What do you like best?

I'm wondered to see the inherent capabilities of the Pega Platform that allows you to build wide variety of customer UI needs. I think majority of Pega Community feels that it is merely possible to generate user interface directly at runtime (customer portal) by reading fields(controls), field types and labels information from the database table. We achieved it.

What do you dislike?

I'm sure there are lot of capabilities of the platform are still unreachable to developer / partner / other communities. Due to this, customers are being diverted to other technologies to fill the gaps which are quiet possible with Pega Platform. Considering the Angular JS for UI needs is one good example here.

This is a great product offers everything that needs today under one platform

The most vital task for the business today is to have unified view from diversified implementations in their IT landscape. This is the the key task for every business to keep up with customer expectations, regulatory and governance changes and stay head of the ever changing business challenges and competitor competitions.

What do you like best?

Agility and innovative solutions for complex problems in the IT world

Pricey and not that performance oriented.

Pega helps to bring the business and IT together which in turn helps to develop better and robust applications for the organisation. Also with Agile way of working, Pega can actually help to build application pretty fast as compared to other competitors.

Financial processes with in banks. The benefits are visualizing the process by the business to find loopholes in process and design and develop an effective Business Process.

"Excellent All-In-One development platform"

What do you like best?

Includes screen and functionality mock-up tools that can then be converted directly into functioning product code. This also contains many agile project management tools built in

What do you dislike?

With as many tools and options, setting it up to start with can be a bit daunting. Pega provides a lot of support but it still takes a bit to configure.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Check out their new scrum functionality. It is very helpful and robust.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have used it extensively , not only as a development platform, but also a defect tracker and time management tool. It has an easy to access dashboard that keeps the users up to date on their assigned tasks.

"Easy to learn, hard to master."

What do you like best?

My favorite part of Pega is that it didn't take more than a month for me to start being really comfortable with it. It's easy to learn.

What do you dislike?

It can be frustrating when out of the box functionality does not work, so you start an SR and have to wait for replies from the Pega team.

Compliance has been created in 6 months, which is insane.

"Pega The Leader"

What do you like best?

Pega's ablity to adopt changes and Open for customization. Reduced time to delivery at the same time Capturing the changes in requirements and Reports

Some times the Product bugs which were still in the product in spite of reporting in the lower versions

What do you like best?

It aims to enhance the operational efficiency of organizations through the automation of processes, responding to the current needs of companies that are under tremendous pressure to comply with the increasing service expectations of digital consumers.

What do you dislike?

While digital transformation is essential to strategic business positioning, most companies still need to improve the way they implement it. The introduction of new technologies alone will not be enough since the important thing is not the technologies themselves, but how to use them in an efficient way (also, there are customers who often shy away from communicating with "machines").

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

In principle, the system brings advantages to both sides: companies, because they can streamline processes and reduce costs; and customers, because AI-driven systems typically respond faster and interactions are easier, at least for simple service cases.

"A platform that helps getting things done"

What do you like best?

The completeness of the platform which makes it possible to create end to end solutions

Relative small community which makes it hard to find solutions already created by different companies

"Implementation Project Manager"

What do you like best?

We really using the cloud instances for our offshore developers. We also liked the cloud instances as a QA /Demo environment.

What do you dislike?

We had issues with integration and the ability to keep the version control up to date. We need to do a better job as a team managing that area.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Be sure to allow the Pega team to help in the planning to prevent issues down the road. We cut our ASD short which caused a lot of issues in DCO. We also were not clear on the scope of the work that we were doing. We needed to trust the process.

We were solving for customer call satisfaction in a 24/7 environment. The benefit was partially realized.

"Fast and Easy"

What do you like best?

I have been working on PEGA platform for more than 10 years now. I have seen PEGA grow, grow into a better product. They have made the product easier to customize, and now the applications are faster to implement with their frameworks and great easy to use almost drag and drop features.

What do you dislike?

There is a tendency of over promising by the sales team, although sales team is very competent, they set the expectation so high that it is impossible to meet by technical team

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Automating business processes, building rule engines and routing and tracking work items made it easier to work on, especially their out of the box features, such as Audit feature is great.

"First contact with PEGA"

What do you like best?

It is easy to design according to the objectives of the company, and really powerful.

What do you dislike?

it is not very easy to implement it correctly. It is difficult to obtain certification for those of us who speak Spanish because the exams are not in our language and in Spain, to pass an exam usually need 50%, not 70%.

"Amazing platform for freshers to develop their skills in a tool which I expect to grow leaps n bound"

What do you like best?

The user friendly nature and the ease in which complex applications can be developed. The application is code free, so a professional with good logic can do wonders with this application.

What do you dislike?

Not much, but a bit more Ui friendly would be great!

"I started using Pega from past 3 and half years"

What do you like best?

It is one of the best tools around to build a good application. Can be used for banking, insurance etc domains

What do you dislike?

There is nothing i dislike in pega platform. It is highly recommended to use as it takes less time to code.

"The unbearable lightness of coding"

What do you like best?

How easy it is to integrate with different system and orchestrate how they work. Some great capabilities like decisioning and data pages. I also like new possibilities that Pega Robotics can bring for legacy applications.

What do you dislike?

Some things that are not standard for Pega can be a big pain: you will have to spend days to override OOTB functionality in the way it is required. Especially concerning UI stuff.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Process and case mamanegemt, sales automation. The main benefit is how easy it is to make a working prototype to show business what they can expect and get a feedback right away.

"Technology is great; but licensing is a nightmare"

What do you like best?

One of the best RPA technologies around. In fact, this is the only platform (commercial) available where in code injection is the technique used and it is always 100% accurate. Highly reliable.

What do you dislike?

Most of the customers dread dealing with Pega due to nightmare in licensing discussion. Unless the customers are an existing relationship with Pega, they don't prefer to engage with Pega RPA. In fact some of the customers who have relationship with Pega, they try to avoid the discussion on Pega RPA.

Only software where in we can develop front end (call center type) automation.

"Best platform to work woth"

What do you like best?

Pega provides various tools and operational functionalities that enables me to write and compile code easily at the same time. It's effective tool for management to assess people.

What do you dislike?

Deployment of Android mobile application process at end to end level is not documented.

"is easy for customers and need some improvements for devops"

What do you like best?

is easy to understand and use, is very easy to create new pages and manage the existing ones. is nice to hace a self service monitoring tool

What do you dislike?

AES monitoring system need to be upgraded and it would be nice to have compatibility with other monitoring tools such as sitescope and splunk

Sometime Sales are overselling the product. So Customer feel like Pega can install and run as a product which is not true in practical

"Implement pega mashup is very easy"

What do you like best?

I have experience with PEGA platform when working as freelancer for Mandiri ( one of PEGA's client in Indonesia ). It's very easy to implement host 2 host interconnection to PEGA mashup and working for most of browser.

What do you dislike?

some limitation in PEGA mashup, especially for webview function in mobile app for iOS.

What do you like best?

Online Sandbox environment for exercises, clearly defined learning plan and contents for easy learning and understanding.

What do you dislike?

Nothing to dislike, I was told to learn Pega.I loved it and completed essential courses. May be I could say that I am getting frequent emails to complete paid certifications.

It is easy to learn and implement and very effective.

If we want to design a website we need to design front-end, back-end databases and lots of stuff to take care, but using Pega7 it is taken care automatically.. developers only need to think about implementaion details.
