"Our first HRM software after a lot of testing/comparison "

What do you like best?

A proper holiday/leaver planner, no longer using Google Sheets to work out who is on holiday but also the extended ability to sync to Google Calendar view where it can be accessible company wide by sharing.

Having everything centralised and in one place, we are able to have multiple companies on PeopleHR.

What do you dislike?

Some of the UI and UX is tough to navigate. The left hand menu could do with some defining and some more logic applied. Very rare I click the right option first time without clicking around multiple option to find what I was looking for.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Very friendly and responsive support team. Always ask for help if you need it and if there is something missing then feature request.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We can look after every country of operation in one place. Because all our data including contracts, personal information and payroll data is all central we can pull reports almost imminently. We also use the ATS which has saved a lot of time in managing an extensive hiring campaign efficiently.

"Making HR admin easy"

What do you like best?

People HR is straightforward and easy to use. The queries tool allows you to create reports using any data you have stored on the system, quickly and easily. There are a lot of features that you can easily customise with no technical expertise and with no negative impact on other features.

Requesting holidays is simple. Generally People HR is straightforward to use so training isn't required, but there are a lot of help videos and articles for admins, employees and managers in case help is needed.

There is also a support chat option available at all times and responses tend to be within a couple of hours, which I think is extremely quick compared to other vendors.

What do you dislike?

If the logbook feature was tweaked slightly it would allow you to do so much more on People HR. Although you can create forms to help you or employees record information, the field labels that you create have a very small character limit, which restricts how much you can do with these forms. An increased (or no) character limit would allow you to move so many more processes over People HR so that you could stop using paper forms altogether.

The company planner view isn't quite how our employees would like it to look, it's difficult to get an "at a glance" view of who exactly is off at different times.

Ask to try out a sandbox site before signing up so that you can test out all features.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are now able to use PeopleHR to manage all people data in one place, including employee files, payslips, holiday and sickness. This makes PII more manageable for data protection and newer GDPR requirements. Having all the data in once place also helps with management information reporting and financial reporting. We are starting to use People HR's Ripple Workflow to automate internal processes.

"Good for small businesses"

What do you like best?

It's so easy to use - we were able to roll it out to staff with very limited time taken to train staff and managers on how to use it. I like how PeopleHR are continually improving and updating the system in refining and adding new features. I've used PeopleHR in a few roles now and try and take it with me when I join a new organisation. It's great to have all employee information in one place, and has helped us identify gaps and risks. The planner and dashboard are great visuals.

What do you dislike?

The organisation chart is inflexible and not a true picture of what our company structure looks like. The ability to edit and change this feature would be great. We've had to turn this off.

The Logbook area could be improved so that we could use this for forms and we could stop using paper altogether.

It would be good to be able to make internal amendments together - e.g. if someone has a promotion you have to change the job title, reports to, salary etc all separately and provide a reason for each which is a bit niggly.

Ask to use the demo version - you get a really good feel for the site.

The reporting tool is great and allows you to mine a lot of information. It has helped to streamline HR processes and identified where we had gaps in our processes and information.

"Cloud Friendly Real Time HR"

What do you like best?

We are an IT Networking Business, with Cloud our specialty. It was therefore important for us to partner with a solutions' provider who had an a good technical knowledge of Cloud and an outstanding HR product. That is what we found with People HR.

The utility of the product and it's technical platform gave us considerable confidence we had made a good choice and our practical experience so far has demonstrated that we have done so.

What do you dislike?

Struggling to be honest. The 10k limit on document upload is a minor issue, but we have found a work around. Otherwise a solid product.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you are looking for an easy to use, tech savvy product with a cloud future, would strongly recommend. Also the Company is easy to business with.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are a dynamic Business so the ability to produce bespoke HR data based reports for prospective clients is a major advantage.

As we role it out the self serve function is proving a big hit with our staff.

Also great to a have a real time HR product for planning and decision making. It also performs all the usual HR administrative services well.

"Brilliant platform"

What do you like best?

I love the dashboard! its very informative and aesthetically pleasing.

I really like the use of the planner and the visibility of this.

The ease of creating new queries is a super efficient process.

What do you dislike?

I think it would be very useful if you could hover over the absence data on the dashboard and it tells you who is off rather than inform you of the percentage.

Id also like maternity and paternity tags created for the use of mail merge.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Streamlining the HR processes has been an amazing - it has enabled the department to be very efficient.

The use of collating MI from the query builder has made so much difference to time scales and expectations.

"From paper to electronic"

What do you like best?

The holiday planner has been a blessing for our company. We previously used paper holiday forms so this has been a transformation.

What do you dislike?

The Recruitment ATS module doesn't offer reporting.

If you are heavily reliant on this for recruitment, please consider that you cannot report on the data easily.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Keeping an accurate track of absence, holidays and personal development reviews electronically in one place. Managers only have to use one system which reduces paperwork and confusion. We can report instantly on data for the Board too.

Keeping track of all candidates applying for roles in one place electronically - saving on paperwork!

Managers get to see an up to date review of where their recruitment is which is great.

We spent a lot of time harmonising the external job boards with our careers page and feeding this in to PeopleHR but it has been worthwhile to reduce administration in posting jobs.

"Ideal for smaller companies, but suitable for larger ones!"

What do you like best?

The overall layout of the application is great, things are organised in a way that are easy to find.

What do you dislike?

The dashboard looks like someones doodle when they first came up with the software package "idea" - I just don't see how the cartoon style page fits with the rest of the site. It's not causing any functional harm, although simpler stats/graphs would be more useful here.

Also the calendar selection when marking staff holidays, sick etc could do with a bit more logic applied. There are some fields when marking a staff member sick always catch me out, things like number of days etc is not known when its the first day of an absence! Would be better to just press a button for "user is sick" then an email or notification each day to record them as back at work, then fill in all the additional info needed.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Although I'm only in a small company having a central point to control everything staff related is perfect and people HR solves this problem perfectly, at a very reasonable price!

I have needed a staff members number before (to call them) but didn't have it stored on my phone, the system combines everything like this so you always have it to hand!

"Best tool for a startup"

What do you like best?

I love the Thanks section at PeopleHR, it allows you to thank you co-workers giving badges! It's amazing! And we also use the badges to select our employee of the month: each badge you give to a co-worker is a vote; the employee with the most number of badges on that specific month is the winner, the chosen one for the Employee of the Month.

What do you dislike?

What I most dislike is the the UI of the tool, it's not the most modern one (but it serves its purpose). The website is not that resposive mainly in small screens and in mobile..

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With PeopleHR we can track our employees vacations, day off and other type of absences. We also use it to vote for our employee of the month through the Thanks section.

"Easy to use and effective HR system."

What do you like best?

We originally started using PeopleHR to manage holiday bookings. This has saved my managers countless hours of manually tracking holiday requests. The self serve function was well received with all staff. The system is incredibly easy to use, having little HR background I found it very easy to get to grips with. Staff enjoy the Thanks function and will regularly use this to so appreciation when they have had assistance from another team meber

What do you dislike?

The clocking function was a bit cumbersome and would sometimes crash on the app.

Ask as many questions to the support team to help you get the most out of the software. Having no HR department in our company this software has made our lives so much simpler giving us time to focus on the core business.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Document storage was a huge problem before we moved to People HR. Staff would forever be chased to return documents with the electronic signatures and weekly updates this has become much easier to manage removing unnecessary admin from our Managers so they can focus on the core business functions. We have no introduced a much better performance review system using PeopleHR that has improved productivity the feedback from all team members has been great.

"The best Value and most functionally rich product I've come across!"

What do you like best?

There is so much to like! The ease with which employees can be created and the leaver wizard are both so easy to use. The ATS is basic, but when you've been working from Spreadsheets and outlook, its a step up, purely because you can start involving the hiring manager right from the start. My CEO LOVES the quick reports and how impactful they are. I love the query tool because I can pull information easily and quickly that blows my colleagues away.

What do you dislike?

If you've used any kind of system before, there are certain areas where this system will seem counter intuitive. But with any new system, it only takes a few uses of a particular module before you're completely used to the way it works.

Org chart is a useful viewing tool, but I wish it could be exported easily, or it would format to produce org charts that can be published by department.

I'd also like to be able to test functionality without having to create dummy employees and managers that then show up on the org chart.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Talk to some existing users...take our word for it the product is fantastic functionality for exceptional value. Other so called "starter" systems were quoting me ridiculous amounts of money for annual license fees and a whacking great upfront implementation fee. Frankly I am astounded by what I get for such a reasonable fee per employee.

This product genuinely does what it says it does!

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Compliance with respect to data. Better workflow tracking, though I wish my company could afford to pay for the full product to give me automated workflows. Provision of data to other areas of the business, quickly and easily, thus saving me time, and increasing my confidence in the accuracy of the data. Making people accountable for maintaining some of their own data (self-service) AND driving more accountability to Managers to manage their teams.

"PeopleHR Cloud based HR system"

What do you like best?

The systems is so easy to set up and use. It's really intuitive and even some of the quirky features we need for our business have been easy to set up and accommodate in PeopleHR.

You really can have the system up and running in a very quick amount of time.

We are trying to have as many single sources of information in our business as possible, so integration is the key for us to save unnecessary admin effort moving forward. So, the fact that we can design and publish our own customisable API's is just an amazing feature.

What do you dislike?

There's really not a great deal we don't like! There are some features which you have to get used to, such as employees being listed alphabetically by first name but that's just getting used to doing things in a different way; they soon become second nature.

If we have found anything that really is wrong with the system, then after discussion with Sat and his team, we either find a better way to do the task in the system or they have improved the system accordingly. They do listen to feedback.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you need an HR system then this will more than likely fulfil your needs. There may be some large organisations that need to work with legacy systems that may have issues but that's not my field of expertise.

All you need to do is understand what you have in terms of data and process and have a clear plan on what processes can be implemented in PeopleHR. As long as this can be clearly communicated to PeopleHR then they will have a better understanding on how to set up your system.

We needed to move to a new system when we moved away from our outsourced HR provider, HandoverHR. They used a really clunky system which we all had to work around. PeopleHR has enabled us to almost seamlessly transition to a new HR system and be in a better position from the off - it is just simply streaks ahead of what we had before. As we have become more confident and familiar with PeopleHR we have used it more and more as the single information source in our business for anything HR.

Specifically, the ATS has now enabled us to manage our recruitment in-house so much more effectively and without the cost of using an outsourced supplier. It really does make the process work for us.

"Creating a global HR function around the PeopleHR cloud solution"

What do you like best?

PeopleHr gave our organisation a template from which to build a comprehensive HR function for our organisation globally - 4 offices across 3 continents.

What do you dislike?

There are a few minor niggles around holiday management and carry forward, but these tend to be caused by the fact that we have 4 different sets of statutory legislation to work to. It would be nice perhaps to be able to split down the global settings by office.

Recommendations to others considering the product

The cost per month is minimal and you can probably get a free trial - so the best way to get to know it to sign up and have a go. Very easy to use and you will know more or less straight away if it is for you - and if not they won't hold you to a licence.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We had no formal function for managing HR and with about 100 staff spread around the world it certainly needed addressing. Within 2 months all staff had profiles within the system. For the first time the system provided us with a global organisation chart. Employees that had been working together across the world were able to see where they fitted in the bigger picture of the organisation. We were also driven by the template to consider HR activities that had not been addressed previously, but are important for a 'proper' company to have.

"Great System for a large company"

What do you like best?

People HR is a great system that is ideal for a large company. It has all the features and functionalities we require to understand data on a large scale. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to streamline their processes and ensure they have up to date and relevant information on their colleagues. No more missing paper trails, everything is recorded in one place. The support is unbelieveable as well, staff are super friendly.

What do you dislike?

It would be nice if they responded sooner on the chat function. Please try keep response times to less than 5 minutes

"Amazing HR system for businesses"

What do you like best?

Very easy to setup and use, it looks very sleek and is highly customisable to suit all your HR needs. You can create quick reports which can look like infographic so they are very easy to read / go through.

Nothing at the moment, it truly looks and works great!

"Intuitive HR system"

What do you like best?

Totally intuitive system, which is superb. Easy to set up from an HR perspective, but also user friendly. The developers are really responsive in terms of queries and regularly upload new and better ways in which to use the system.

Thus far , the system has met our needs and expectations

We trialed various systems, but felt that PeopleHr was the most user friendly and also allowed us to customise to suit our business requirements.

"Great HR and Employee Management for Small to Medium Businesses"

What do you like best?

The simplicity offered in managing staff and one to one reviews. The cost model is efficient and its really easy for employees to use without lots of training or onboarding.

What do you dislike?

The interface is dated and the navigation could be improved slightly. It needs a decent mobile app. Expenses module not great from what I have seen. More integrations needed.

"People Hr "

What do you like best?

The program its self is so simple and straight forward to use! The 'chat' section is also really helpful as if you have a question you can get help immediately. the support is great.

What do you dislike?

When you order by department and go in to a person, if you come out you have to reorder by department. It would be good if the people stayed in order.

"HR Made Easy"

What do you like best?

Not only do I like the functionality of the system easing day to day tasks. Extraction of information required is simplified using the queries function. But the customer service is fantastic, I always have my questions answered promptly and sufficiently.

"An Excellent HR System that I would highly recommend"

What do you like best?

Ease of use and functionality, clearly designed by HR professionals, regular improvements through quarterly releases at no extra charge to customer, free and very efficient customer support

ATS could have a search functionality by key words, mobile tap in tab out needs further development in countries outside the UK

"Raventa Ltd. experience with People HR (PHR) after 18 months"

What do you like best?

The ease of use and the value for money. We looked at several different HR applications prior to implementing PHR. We also tried a solution that ended in disaster as it was never actually implemented. PHR is the best product on the market for a small business and gets better with each upgrade. For Raventa it is one of our 3 platform systems alongside our ERP and quality systems.

What do you dislike?

The things I dont like are few and crop up on an occasional basis. Off the top of my head...there are some features that dont function as I think they are intended but they are minor functions. I would also like to brand the look and feel to be more representative of our company marketing.

As I said..if you are a small business it is the best system in the UK market.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are trying to standardise the entire HR function across all our businesses (4 in the group). PHR provides an accessible platform that allows us to: keep employee data, track performance, time keeping, holidays and more. The only thing we have not used it for YET is payroll....although we are looking at a link into our accountants software with PHR.

"Probably the best cloud HR software on the market"

What do you like best?

The system feels modern and fun, and is super easy to use (even for somebody who knows very little about HR). You can tell that this system is being maintained by a team of professionals who are genuinely passionate about keeping things very straightforward in terms of user experience, yet ahead of the times in terms of design and functionality.

What do you dislike?

I access this system using several different devices. Because the software works seamlessly on all platforms, and because I access it most frequently using my smartphone, I sometimes forget I am using my laptop and try to navigate by swiping my screen!

This company is going places - I'm pretty certain that this product is going to continue evolving and improving and growing for many, many years to come. If you're looking for something that is awesome right now, but that is only going to keep on getting better with age, choose this HR system.

"The worst HR System "

What do you like best?

Has tons of things that don't work properly.

What do you dislike?

This system is the worst I have ever used. The customer service is unable to help me no matter what issue we have. They have ruined 2 performance reviews for my company and lost information that we worked on for months. I definitely will discourage anyone from paying for a system that never works properly.

What do you like best?

Really easy to use even for those who are not IT Savy. Great features. Love how many reports you can create through the system.

What do you dislike?

We work 7 hours and 45 mins per day but can only input hours 7 hours and 30 mins or 8 hours for standard hours settings.

Great how you can link HR with other software programmes using the API key. We can now link PeopleHR with sage and save a lot of time on payroll.

"So easy!"

What do you like best?

It's so easy to request holidays and I really like the emails you get to say holidays have been approved so you don't have to manually check up on it.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes its difficult to understand what area to click to enter information.

"People HR is just what my SB needed!!"

What do you like best?

Ease of use with plenty of functionality.

What do you dislike?

My one complaint is that there are too many options to chose from when trying to schedule holidays or off time for employees.
