"AWESOME customer service, great to work with"

What do you like best?

Customer service in the form of the chat! It's amazing to be able to reach out during the workday to get answers to small questions that pop up as we continue to explore advocacy with Phone2Action. It allows me to work more efficiently and quickly instead of emailing back and forth throughout the day. They are also very receptive to concerns we face--especially as a small nonprofit, and try and work with us to find solutions.

What do you dislike?

The interface--we have a lot of campaigns going at once, and it would be helpful for us to "group" them instead of just "live" and "archive".

Recommendations to others considering the product

Amazing customer service, highly recommend.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are able to run many campaigns as once and collect names from petitions and comments and funnel them into our email system. We are also able to do calls to elected officials easier than ever before, which is very crucial as we are on the defense with a lot of the policies we advocate for.

"A powerful but complex tool, so be committed to the end result"

What do you like best?

I love the chat help. I use it all the time, and it's just like 3 techs are sitting at their desks waiting for my questions! Sometimes, the chat evolves to a phone conversation where we walk through a campaign. Other times, the answer is simple enough to share in the chat forum itself.

What do you dislike?

The setup wasn't quite as seamless as I had hoped, and given the power and complexity of the tool, better training would have been helpful. Our account rep was supposed to set up our account first and then walk us through developing a campaign that was based on a real one. She didn't get our account set up or read my email with the background for that campaign. So she ended up walking us through a steps for developing a stand-alone campaign (even though she knew we were using widgets) that was so generic that the training ended up being a wasted hour of everyone's time.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Watch all the tutorials and take all the training you can! The demos are too simplistic and make it seem that anyone can build a coherent campaign in mere minutes. I am getting so that I can build the campaigns relatively quickly, but the testing is always more fraught that I expect, and that's the step in the process where I most often end up on the chat help. A number of times, P2A has had to reindex our FB page so that social sharing works correctly.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Salsa was our previous engagement tool, but it couldn't get past forms on our legislators' websites, so some undetermined percentages of our advocates' emails never got through. It also didn't allow for Twitter, Facebook or phone calls. So this enables us to bring more advocates with different communication preferences into our conservation community.

What Political Campaign solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

"It just works"

What do you like best?

I've been using Phone2Action for about a year and a half, and have never had a problem. Right out of the box, the platform worked just as well as advertised (if not better). Also, their customer service has been amazing. They are always quick to answer messages and walk me through whatever issue I am having.

What do you dislike?

It is relatively bare-bones compared to some of the other platforms out there. That being said, It does everything that it is supposed to do, and it does it well.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Take advantage of the texting feature. It has a much higher success rate than emails.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Before using Phone2Action our call to action initiatives were inefficient and untrackable. Now it is easier for our members to participate, and we can track how much engagement there was.

"Marcus Lee - HRC Review of P2A"

What do you like best?

I like the map feature--It allows user to see their action along side others and their names pop up on the screen.

What do you dislike?

I don't like that we can't pull segmented reports--reports that reflect the user data from tracking links. Currently we have to request that our contacts at P2A pull the data for us.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Ensure that your database of record is compatible out of the box.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It makes capturing multiple types of actions via one page easier, but the API connection between P2A and our database of record (ROI) still isn't working, so the data has to be ported over manually. The benefits are that we're giving our supporters more ways to take action for individual campaigns.

"The Best Adovcacy Platform"

What do you like best?

The simplicity and all of the customization we are able to achieve. We were previously using Salsa as our advocacy platform, and we are so glad we made the switch. We are able to integrate so many great tools such as Facebook Pixel and custom CSS coding. We are thrilled with their quick help support and we are proud to have them as our Advocacy vendor.

What do you dislike?

The price is a little high, but you will most definitely get access to so many great features. The small complain I have is the lack of reports - I wish there were more report options.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Take the time to do their demo - well worth your time!

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are able to reach a broad audience for our campaigns and advocacy work. Their tools make it fairly easy for us to launch petitions and campaigns, and to sit back and watch as their system manages user's input. We also enjoy the text messaging feature, where we are able to reach our advocates and send them images and campaign links. This has saved a great deal of staff time and we are able to focus on bigger things.

"Phone2Action is great, could be improved with a few tweaks"

What do you like best?

Phone2Action is user friendly - both on the person setting up the actions, and for the advocates. It is the only usable platform we have found that integrates with our Salesforce database. It allows for customization. The new features that get released are always helpful and innovative.

What do you dislike?

Top suggestion would be to allow for creating a suppression audience for a text message. For example, I don't want to text advocates who already took action on Campaign XYZ, so I should be able to suppress them from receiving my text. It would be great if we could edit appearance without having to know HTML. Another suggestion would be to allow for manual mapping of fields, to Salesforce.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I recommend anyone who has Salesforce to use Phone2Action. In fact, I have converted at least 2 organizations to P2A.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Previously, we did not have an action platform that integrated with our Salesforce database. Finding P2A allowed us to integrate all of our systems and fully realize our ladder of engagement system.

"It's great!"

What do you like best?

The ability to activate our supporters quickly and easily, without help from Phone2Action's excellent support team, is a huge plus. Add to that the customization and support options that they offer, and it's a excellent product.

What do you dislike?

The admin site isn't very user friendly on mobile, not is there a dedicated mobile app to manage our efforts. Seems like both of those would be easy fixes. Also, the login timeout makes it hard to continuously maintain and keep an eye on progress of a campaign on a daily basis.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Do it!

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use it for advocacy campaigns and it works great. We've seen supporters be able to quickly and easily take action, and it makes it even easy for us to keep up with them.

"In a league of its own"

What do you like best?

The responses we receive from our advocates using the Phone2Action platform shows how easy to use and dynamic the system is. Our organization has used four different advocacy platforms over the years and with the texting features Phone2Action offers, our response rates have more than tripled.

What do you dislike?

An area I believe Phone2Action could grow is to release a bridge for our members responses to import into our membership database.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have for a long time needed both an increase in responses to our action requests as well as more timely responses. We now have higher responses and receive them within 24-72 hours. Previously, it would have taken weeks or even months to achieve the same responses.

"Great tool for campaigns! "

What do you like best?

I like being able to create "contact your legislator" and signup campaigns easily. I also like having an account manager who is so helpful in showing us the different Phone2Action functionality.

What do you dislike?

There are a lot of options and lots of flexibility -- but that can make it a bit overwhelming to create a campaign for someone who's never done it before.

Recommendations to others considering the product

This product has a lot of functionality, but you get the most value if you have enough staff capacity to make good use of the platform -- like a dedicated digital staff person who can get very familiar with it.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Love the ability to use text sign-up and text alerts for our list.

"Working to push social actions online"

What do you like best?

Phone2Action’s customer support and engineering teams provide us with hands-on support to ensure we take full advantage of the platform for every campaign we run, meeting us at the high bar we set for ourselves and that our advocates expect.

What do you dislike?

It would be great to be able to do custom code and HTML ourselves but P2A is always able to help us meet in the middle.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

They don’t hesitate to customize our campaigns—they even changed the live map pins to look like the HRC logo. I enjoy this degree of personalization to drive more action! Phone2Action treats us like a true partner.

"True advocacy partners"

What do you like best?

Quick and thoughtful customer service, pro-active and strategic thinking both in terms of meeting stated goals and presenting new opportunities/tools.

What do you dislike?

If the system also included a CRM component there wouldn't be a need to bring in an additional vendor to meet that need.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Increased activation of our membership around key advocacy issues, helping membership embrace technological innovations.
