"An implementation nightmare"

What do you like best?

The UI of PolicyCenter provides easy to use functionality and is definitely highly customizable.

What do you dislike?

Where do i start.. you have to hire developers and train them in a proprietary language called Gosu... which is an absolute nightmare to learn. It’s some sort of hybrid of java..

You can customize a lot of the functionality but beware that Guidewire has put a lot of it on lockdown, making it harder to customize..

A lot of the functions aren’t very user intuitive and require lots of training to get adjusted to.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

PolicyCenter is one of our core programs of the company, and is used to create, and manage workers compensation policies.

"Good Policy Management Software"

What do you like best?

Has all of the core functionality available Out of the box, and is customisable as per clients needs.

What do you dislike?

Upgrades are complex if there is a lot of customisation

Recommendations to others considering the product

Consider buying the software with the standard based templates (SBT) . This will avoid lot of development effort in future as SBT keeps updating in accordance with ISO and ERC. I recommend Policy Center over other insurance software

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Helps in replacing legacy and mainframe systems with one central policy management software, and lets insurance companies concentrate on their core businesss. ALso guidewire provides standard based templates which are in accordance with ISO and ERC .

"Policy center review "

What do you like best?

Simple, easy to use, efficient, user friendly. Sending certificates of insurance via email with one click (after entering required info)

What do you dislike?

Still getting used to the program, no complaints yet. We needed a “drag and drop” feature to easily attach documents, but it was implemented quickly.

It’s new, not outdated, and user friendly.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Customer management. We utilize this software to manage customer accounts, track payments made, adjust coverages to policies, no need for additional software

"Comprehensive Quoting Platform"

What do you like best?

This is a comprehensive quoting platform, that allows us to implement specific information in to the program and come out with a specialized price for our client!

What do you dislike?

Uploading a document within the platform is nonexistent.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Definitely a comprehensive tool to use to get a detailed quote for a customer.

It provides us the platform to provide our quotes to our clients. Better pricing, more specific to our client.

"Powerful, but intimidating"

What do you like best?

It’s a user friendly interface with a lot of options for agents and underwriters. Much better than a lot of other options out there.

What do you dislike?

As a developer, the gosu language is poorly documented and the code is very spread out. It’s generally difficult to develop for.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Replacing an old mainframe based system in favor of a user friendly design.

"PolicyCenter Review"

What do you like best?

Policy center is easily customizable and pairs seamlessly with ClaimCenter. This has allowed us to be much more efficient and effective.

What do you dislike?

The reporting and analytics are not as robust as we would like.

"It’s a bit more restrictive than previous programs I have used"

What do you like best?

I enjoy that all the tabs are on one page. All the underwriters and agents are able to communicate on one platform seamlessly.

What do you dislike?

There is a lot of data duplicate entries I have to enter that does not flood through to other fields. I also do not like that it very often does not accurately pull up ALH/CLUE reports for people with current insurance.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The problem of underwriter response time has helped a bit. Hey are able to leave direct notes and remarks now.

What do you like best?

Very easy to navigate around to find what you're looking for.

What do you dislike?

Nothing that I know of...as it is easy to find everything I need.

I think it would be helpful to have more totorials on how to use PC.

PolicyCenter is very user friendly once you have gone through the appropriate training. Easy to navigate and find the information you're looking for.

When first implemented there were some issues which is to be expected.
