"Positouch - Operator Proof"

What do you like best?

Extremely operator friendly - once we had our menu programmed, we have had very few issues on the operator side

What do you dislike?

Some of our managers are not great at adjusting this product for customization - this is probably a reflection of our training, but it is certainly easier to use on a plug and chug system rather than when making adjustments

Recommendations to others considering the product

make sure you see the newer, up and coming brands of POS systems. I have not been on the service side of the F&B world in a few years, but at the NRA show in Chicago I see more and more brands popping up every year. In 2018 there are so many POS providors that if you don't do your homework you're going to be in trouble. I think Positouch is good to use as a baseline for evaluating other POS

We were very rudimentary - we needed to replace pen and paper with a system that would help automate our processes

"Too intricate for its own good."

What do you like best?

Not much. I have used many POS systems as both a bartender and restaurant manager and PosiTouch is the most customizable...but to a fault. Once you finally get everything entered into the system, the inventory software is very good.

What do you dislike?

It takes ages to set up. The IT support is, at best, decebt when it finally arrives. It is a very hard system to use for newcomers of the way a POS operates. It has so many options for so many things that it's attempt to be universally customizable just recedes into chaos.

Go with Aloha. I've used them all and it's the best.

A POS (point of sales) system is what almost all restaurants use to send information to all staff members about what is needed and when, as well as keeping an inventory of all goods and services.

"So simple"

What do you like best?

I love how easy it is to program. Also there is no error when you tape what you need there is no error either.

What do you dislike?

I do dislike how easy it is to get around the program without a security code.

If its between 2 systems get this one.

No business problems with this system. Definetly has worked better that a paper check system. We can see our inventory. Even out projected profits

"Simple but limited"

What do you like best?

It is simple to use and good for small business. However when you need advanced features and customization it can be lacking and frustrating. Pretty straight forward however.

What do you dislike?

Lack of advanced programming and easy data base management. Also could use better graphics or "sleeker" look.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Simple but maybe too simple. Needs more customization, better screen function and management, also more intuitive features for dining such as specials and better table management. Maybe some of this is offered however support and training were lacking at the time of use.

"In the right direction, but not there yet"

What do you like best?

I enjoy the easy of creating sub levels for the format that we currently require while in the hospitality service.

What do you dislike?

Systems work ring on an open circuit meaning when one computer, handheld freezes, shuts down, requires reboot, all others are included.

Easy to training and use for staff.

What do you like best?

The simplicity of POSitouch made learning it very easy when I worked in the food service industry.

What do you dislike?

The colors would actually really bother me sometimes. The interface made me feel like I was using a product from the early ‘90s.

"Practical, but not. "

What do you like best?

Speed and contrasting colors. Also, the reports are detailed and easy to understand.

What do you dislike?

Having to go to the office to change anything. Having to refresh the whole system. Having to do this during meal rush if anything goes wrong.

Consider what you have now versus positouch. If you can, have your rep let you run functions side by side.

Labor. It can save a ton of labor if used correctly.

I like best to change my POS and go on square...

Customer service = 0 If you need something!

"Useful tool"

What do you like best?

Simple to use and easy to master, plenty of useful features, reports, credit card processing and more

What do you dislike?

Occasional random shut downs, seemingly at the most busy times

Communicate effortlessly with all necessary parties, kitchen, bar, ECT. Keep track of each consumers orders without getting mixed up with multiple tables open.

What do you like best?

It was pretty easy to use. Easy to memorize screens because items rarely moved.

Some days it would drag and work slow, made it difficult especially in busy times.
