"Daily Grind"

What do you like best?

Simple and easy to use. Project List is not so feature heavy that it becomes work to actually use it. We tried several online project management systems and we kept getting bogged down in to many features. We are a small team and did not the the complicated level of calendars, to do lists and so on.

Project List is more sophisticated that a spreadsheet and doesn't try to do everything.

What do you dislike?

There are some links that look the same and clicking one make the project go away, the other puts it on hold. I sometime click the wrong one, it just depends how my brain is working that day.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Give it try. We implemented it for a 30 days and regrouped each week to discuss our use. We made small changes in our workflow and created a process that worked Project List to our advantage.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

In trying to manage a team of people working on a variety of projects at the same time I had trouble staying on top of everything. Project List allows me to quickly see a snapshot of everything, view progress and individual workload. I can easily move projects around, add notes, or change the priority level without leaving my desk and interrupting my team's workflow.

"Good Lightweight Solution"

What do you like best?

We are a small (two-person) company working in different offices, and PL makes it easy to pass projects back and forth and track progress asynchronously without having to be in the same room. At a glance, it’s easy to see which tasks are emergencies/urgent (red label), current/ongoing (yellow), or upcoming/low priority (green). The percentage slider is a surprisingly intuitive way of grading progress and giving us a better idea of where we are from a timeline standpoint. And the simplicity of PL makes it easy to mix up large projects and smaller tasks on the same list so that nothing falls through the cracks.

What do you dislike?

It’s easy to ask for more bells and whistles from a project manager, but we’ve found that the complexity of the more feature-heavy web apps makes them a burden to use. Maybe an option to "turn on" certain advanced features would be nice, but I'm guessing that's not the developer's intention.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

After trying out a handful of other project management tools, we found Project List to be just the right mix of features and simplicity for us to be inclined to use it every day. We prefer to minimize project management and focus in on the work itself. Project List makes that possible.
