"Pubmatic is a good SSP"

What do you like best?

Pubmatic has a very clean interface and the reporting is very flexible. It's one of the more modern-feeling interfaces that is really a joy to use. You can pre-select reporting dates, define a certain date, or define a flexible date range.

The Pubmatic staff is excellent to work with - they are very attentive and do what they say they are going to do. We have an account manager and a backup email list so that the whole team is aware of our issues.

What do you dislike?

We did not set up our demand segments, so I do not know too much about how those were setup in the interface. We are somewhat at the mercy of their expertise for this area in their interface.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you are using the Mocean ad server (pre-Pubmatic acquisition), find out when and how the migration to the Pubmatic interface will take place. If you are just using the Pubmatic SSP, this doesn't matter.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are trying to effectively sell remnant inventory at a high fill rate and a high CPM. So far we have a decent mobile CPM, but fill rate could use some improvement. We are working with them on that.

We were on the Mocean platform so that is the publisher ad management tool we are using.

"Useful SSP to monetize unsold inventory"

What do you like best?

One of the better SSP tools out there they can easily get you setup and help manage your inventory. They compete at a high CPM level and offer great fill as well. The team has always been responsive and the attitude they have to make sure we are truly setup for success is helpful.

What do you dislike?

Overall they work great. The only limit was trying to implement them through our Mobile adserver for mobile inventory on an app. They could use some work with MoPub to get this setup easier but even that is manageable.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The biggest problem was lack of diversity in the ad networks for web and mobile. By implementing them they were able to help limit the impact from another partner possibly going down and allowed more flexibility on our side to adjust floors knowing we were not at one partners mercy.

"Needs improvement"

What do you like best?

"Pivoting Platform"

What do you like best?

I like the new direction they're going with analytic capabilities and dashboards that allow the user to make decisions and not pull data. I also think that they have a respectable platform that scales decently well.

What do you dislike?

They're still not fully integrated with some of the big mobile DSP's so there's a push to build out that capability. However, there are challenges with mobile, when using this display first platform.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Depending on your goals this platform might be perfect. However, using PubMatic is a necessity in digital display and eventually will be in mobile because of the sheer size of the platform. It's not without its technological challenges but can be an essential part of your mix, whether you're a DSP looking for inventory or a Publisher looking to monetize your own.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Looking for diversity of publishers and scale in doing so. PubMatic is giving me options for inventory in the open market and through private marketplaces to get more premium inventory.

"Love this product"

What do you like best?

I like how easy it is to navigate and move around in the software and how intuitively designed it is. It speaks a lot about the company's desire to improve user experience.

What do you dislike?

I dislike how hard it is to get in contact with customer service when you need issues resolved.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I am solving problems when it comes to publishing and marketing of materials. It makes it a lot more standardized approach.

"PubMatic Publisher Partner"

What do you like best?

Quality supply - they have a variety of relationships that would be difficult as an individual company. Pubmatic allows our advertisers to reach multiple through a single relationship.

What do you dislike?

Integration to be able to purchase as much supply as we desired was difficult and never fully achieved. Support has not been the best.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Accessing top performing supply through a single partner. We fill well on this inventory because we can seek out what we know does well and it's quality.
