"Salesforce for Higher Ed "

What do you like best?

I like that Salesforce offers a product that helps break down the silo's within higher education. Using the Salesforce Advisor Portal combined with case management, allows visibility into what is happening with a particular student at any point in the recruitment or student life cycle. From prospect to alumni, we can see where the student has been and their experience thus far.

What do you dislike?

Nothing, I love Salesforce Education cloud for higher ed.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Using SAL and case management together with Marketing Cloud offer a very transparent look into students within higher education.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are solving an issue with transparency among different departments and use cases. Our advisors use Salesforce differently than our recruiters or support staff but all of them have needs that must be met and configured to play nicely.

"Salesforce For Higher Ed is an Outstanding CRM Option"

What do you like best?

Salesforce for Higher Ed is finally just that, Salesforce that has been tweeked to work with higher education institutes. We came over originally before Higher Ed was built out and while it was good, this just makes it better and so adapt at higher ed needs

What do you dislike?

If you already had Salesforce set up in your org before Higher Ed was announced it can be hard to transition and keep all of your data intact. That said, it has a lot more benefits than minus at this point. It can be hard to administer and you will need a full time admin to make this work for you.

Recommendations to others considering the product

There are really only two solutions out there now. Salesforce for Higher Ed or Slate. Slate may be easier initially but Salesforce is the industry leader in CRM technology and should be the main selling point. We are glad we switched and haven't looked back yet.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The ability for counselors to create tasks for themselves and log activities has been outstanding. This keeps counselors up to date and keeps from losing students that might have otherwise fallen between the cracks.

"SalesForce "

What do you like best?

Its amazing. Its a one point of contact for everything. It lets me see perspective students and all their interactions, social media posts, and so on so that we recruit the right students from the start. Then it tracks and keeps up with all correspondence with the perspective student through the recruitment process, once they register, and throughout their time spent with us. It doesn't matter what media we use for communication it puts it all in one location. Also, because of cloud access when traveling or working from home all the information is accessible. I don't have to lug a laptop, my phone or iPad works great.

What do you dislike?

So far I haven't found anything that really doesn't meet our needs or that I find troublesome. It has been an overall great experience.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I would highly recommend it. It makes everything so easy and simplifies your life. It allows work to flow so much smoother. When traveling it makes everything easy and accessible. It stores on the cloud so you don't have to have your desktop. You can use laptops, phones, tablets. IT works across windows and macs. ITs great.

Recruitment, management of communications for traveling and remote employees, keeps up with everything. It makes accessibility easy and communication. Its everything in one location.

"Sale forces is great! "

What do you like best?

You can sign up to watch the free demo videos. You can sell, service, market and connect to grow your business every day.

What do you dislike?

I dislike that it is only free for the demo. It is quite pricey. It does help with costs- but is still more expensive than other software

would highly recommend. has a great interface. it is incredibly easy to use and not at all difficult to learn

It’s business management solutions is solving the hassles of business software. There is nothing to install which is really convenient! It saves your company time and money!

"Connection to Prospects"

What do you like best?

An effective tool to track a prospect's journey with customizable fields, integration with apps for communication. Salesforce partnership with the higher education community and pricing model demonstrates a mission for education.

What do you dislike?

Robust system that requires significant support on admin and IT sides.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Have a strong project management team, leadership support, implementation partners, educated IT staff with necessary training, and cheerleaders - lots of cheerleaders.

Effective means of tracking leads, triggering timely communications.

"Pros and cons "

What do you like best?

It’s easy to navigate. An entry level professional could figure it out within a day

What do you dislike?

It was almost too basic. I would have liked to see an accounts section along with adding contacts inside accounts.

It was hard to keep track of each individual contact especially having over 200 clients

What do you like best?

I love salesforce for higher ed because it allows me to track all student and customer data and sort by city

What do you dislike?

The price per license is very expensive and makes it tough for higher educators and schools to use this crm

"Excellent tool for streamling the admissions process!"

What do you like best?

I liked being able to collaborate with my coworkers so we could all see what each other had done.

What do you dislike?

The overall user experience seemed outdated

Managing the pipeline of admissions and enrollment. We have realized where people are coming from and able to take detailed notes on everyone.

"Bringing the corporate world together withe education"

What do you like best?

it is so easy to use and navigate. Helps plan out my day and weeks. Also helps with recaps with management for my accounts.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes the dropdowns are tedious and sometimes lead to laziness to not wanting to fill it all out.

"Seamless tool"

What do you like best?

I like the seamless communications tools within it. Along with the paperless application process that I utilize it for.

What do you dislike?

I don’t like that it doesn’t seamlessly communicate with other software I use, such as Banner.

The communication plan is robust and automated, our application process is paperless and electronically available to all related staff.

What do you like best?

It has an easy interface with a lot of interesting options. Tracks contracts well.

It can sometimes be hard to reach out to customer service for assistance

What do you like best?

The functionality is not watered down at all just because we are a smaller shop on a large platform.

What do you dislike?

The billing in general can be hard to follow

Process automation has been huge for us. It has helped with application processing communications etc.
