"Excellent budget ERP for Medium and Small Businesses"

What do you like best?

SAP Business One is one of the best ERP for medium or small business in the market today. It has a wide variety of modules and it is really easy to use and setup. You can trace every transaction and know what user performs it, at what time, and in which date, for all your audit needs.

What do you dislike?

From previous versions, the Software Development Kit (SDK) has had some errors that are still not fixed in the newest versions of the product. You can not affect the database directly trough SQL queries, so if you want to develop new functions inside the app, you have to use the SDK that includes method for each object in the system.

Recommendations to others considering the product

The license cost per user is a little expensive, and then annually you have to pay approx. 20% of the total cost of your licenses for the support from SAP, but what you get in return is totally worth it. You get a world class ERP for your company and the support is really good.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use the product for our complete sales and purchase process, mean while is fully connected with the finance module and it creates automatically a journal entry for every transaction that affects the general ledger. The reporting module has many options and is really customizable, and you can create your own reports once you get familiar with the structures of tables and fields in the database.

"Best program in management and its price"

What do you like best?

First of all that you do not need so knowledge about how to do the processes of any field or department as the program help you easily to do the tasks as well as is so intuitive when you do the training or you know how to use it.

Second that you can set up the menus or the cockpit how you want, this means that you can put the mostly used commands or functions in the first screen of SAP where you will access easily to the menus you use to work with

What do you dislike?

I dislike that any error that you have done and is saved then can not be deleted and will be there for if anybody can check what kind of movements has been done in any process, in the other hand, means that everybody is not perfect and we commit errors.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you need that your company runs in the right direction, implant SAP and you will see that this program will not disappoint you and many of the people who use it, will make the tasks easily and you will see how you achieve the goals fastly.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With this program we have changed the way to do the things of our company as well as the processes. For example in accounting is more automatically than others programs I have used, so for me, make it save lots of time that makes the company save cost as well as employees can dedicate the time to do another kind of tasks.

What ERP Systems solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

"Convenience at Your Fingertips"

What do you like best?

I enjoy that the software is easy to use. I would definitely rate it as user friendly. I was able to pick up on how the Software worked rather quickly, have no previous background with this kind of Software. In my personal opinion it enables the user to keep track of everything they need without over complicating the process, which is always nice. It also makes it easy to go back and track past transactions and customer information for use in the future. It also does a great job of providing various reports that help Management with day-to-day operations and budgeting.

What do you dislike?

It has a tendency to be slow at times and in order to use some features it does require updating which adds to wait time. I think the biggest downfall of the Software is the inability to edit things. As human beings, we tend to make mistakes, whether it be an address, e-mail, contact name, etc. and SAP does not allow one to go back and make changes to things like invoices, etc.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It's a great program for smaller business looking for a simple solution to track transactions and analyze how their company is doing. It's great for many users and there are tons of features to control who can do and see what.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

SAP has made it easy for me to go back and track what samples have been sent out. I am realizing that to best utilize this Software, all info. available to me must be input at the time an Order is created. SAP has also assisted with solving issues within several areas of our Business i.e. Accounting, Management, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Inventory, Shipping, etc. It has allowed us to cut down on the amount of paperwork we have to retain as well, as we can go back and look through SAP to find what we need more often than not.

"Complete Business Administration System from the Leading ERP Solutions Company!"

What do you like best?

SAP Business One is an ideal, fully integrated, simple-to-use business administration system that is especially suited for growing small and medium sized businesses (SMBs) & smaller subsidiaries of global companies. It has features, functions and analytical tools to manage Purchasing, Inventory Management, Production, CRM, Sales, Service Management, Banking, Finance, Analytics at it's core. if special vertical & horizontal extensions are required, there are SAP certified apps or add-ons. More than 50,000 customers worldwide rely on SAP Business One to manage their businesses in a real-time basis to plan, record & analyse key operations. There are multiple localisations, support multiple languages and currencies. SAP Business One can be deployed on-premise or in the Cloud. SAP has a clear roadmap for the continued development of SAP Business One so that your investment in this solution is protected for the long-term. There is a large global partner eco-system that can help with your implementation, development and support of SAP Business One.

What do you dislike?

There is very little to dislike about SAP Business One. Some people may claim that it is 'expensive'.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Consider SAP Business One for the following reasons:

1. Optimal, high-value, modern solution from the global leader in the ERP system niche

2. A clear roadmap of upcoming enhancements which protect your investment in this platform

3. Feature rich, easy-to-use system that you can deploy in stages

4. Supports multi-currency & multiple languages

5. Extend as your business grows - inter-company processes, extended manufacturing features, etc with certified apps / add-ons. Implement only the extensions that your business needs. Avoid 'code clutter'.

6. A modern solution that is keeping up with the times - simple user interface, in-memory technology, browser based access to cloud versions

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

SAP Business One is a single integrated business administration platform. It is usually adopted by companies to replace several 'scattered solutions' that were adopted in an 'organic' manner during the development of the business. These 'islands of automation' are difficult to sustain. Lots of time is lost reconciling data between these legacy systems.

With SAP Business One, customers will typically develop a Business Blueprint after a project is kicked off. During the creation of this blueprint, processes will be optimised and the SAP Business One system will be configured to support the revised processes. Data quality will improve. Decision making can be done on a 'real-time'. Time will be freed up from minimising/avoiding mundane & repetitive manual activities. More can be done to grow the business with this improvement in productivity.

In addition, SAP Business One, becomes an ideal platform for future growth - RFID based inventory management solutions to save time, costs and accuracy, new sales channel with e-commerce, mobile warehouse solutions, greater access to company data on mobile devices (iOS & Android) for sales and customer relationship managers.

"SAP Business One is heading in the right dirrection"

What do you like best?

SAP Business Ones lets a user multitask and simplify their work by letting the use connect to multiple data sources at the same time. Typically some system only let you connect to a single database for example but SAP grants the user to run queries from multiple source simultaneously. If your with data, you already knew how mush hustle saving this tool can be.

What do you dislike?

very hard to get use to it at first, but after a solid two to three months a user should be able to handle simple task and queries and navigate their way around. The problem it's that you can do so much, it almost overwhelms the users. I believe anyone should start with small steps at the time.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The running time or certain items can be hard to handle. If a user sets things up to run via automation, then they should think about the times and never run too many items at ones at the same time. I found it easier to pick random times for example 4:17am, in order to avoid crashing the system.

"A complete solution with room to grow"

What do you like best?

The breadth and depth of functionality combined with ease of use

What do you dislike?

SAP has a very strong focus on SAP HANA which limits the opportunities for SQL Server users to get more valuer from the solution on Microsoft SQL Server

Recommendations to others considering the product

Selection of a partner is critical - make sure that you evaluate both B1 on SQL Server and on HANA and ensure you need what HANA offers before making the additional investments. If you have a small number of users and analytics is not critical then SQL is a good platform to deploy on vs HANA

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Simple management of accounting functions as well as comprehensive management of debtors and creditors as well as simplified work processes by utilising simplified screens and workflow processes

"Okay system but not great (version 8.82 or below)"

What do you like best?

Screens are user friendly, it uses a SQL database and crystal reports along with it''s native reporting utility. Users can add fields and modify screens. Look up screen it's a reporting utility in itself. Seems very stable. System can lock periods to allow accountant to control accidental postings to wrong periods. Screen are simple.

What do you dislike?

Users can get financials by posting date, document date or due dates??? Financials should only be available by fiscal or calendar periods and always by the transaction date. Customer support is lacking badly. You get better results by googling your issues. Processing payments involves a lot of clicking. The system posts the costs of a sales when deliveries are created, it them records the revenue when the invoice is created off that delivery. It should record both at the time of invoicing. If the product has not left your facility the delivery is just a departmental transfer. Customer balance screens are hard to read. General journal entries need to be reconciled??? It does not do commissions, period. Accounts payable balances also hard to read.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If your implementation budget is large there are better options. Evaluate in depth

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Lot tracing, backflushing, costing, etc. It was of limited use.

"A True One Solution for All business operation! "

What do you like best?

I personally believe SAP took the right direction on SAP Business one! People still have a mentality of SAP being too complex but SAPB1 is truly intuitive and will allow you to manage your end to end business operation.

Couple of points which stands out to me:

-creates eco system where all users can access with different authorization

-Purchasing and operation is very done intuitive and simple

-It handles multiple organization and multiple currency

Lastly you do not have multiple data centers to enter information everything is done under one roof!

What do you dislike?

The only improvement which i think SAPB1 needs is a nicer looking interface. To some individuals it could look outdated but at end of the day it does the job right and looks don't matter.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We wanted to solve having multiple data entry and disparate information. SAP Business One allows us to eliminate errors and redundant data entry and speeds up the business processes and ultimately helps us focus on what's really important.

"SAP Business One the ERP to support the quick growth from 50 to 150"

What do you like best?

Out of the box for a lot of feature. A lot of capability to customize the UI and the flow. DI API available for data input and data synchronization.

What do you dislike?

The time to implement changes by SAP. Sometime new features take too long to arrive into the product.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

All the business processes are in SAP Business One. From the CRM to the back office.

"Powerfull erp for small business"

What do you like best?

I like the posiblity to configure almost everyrhing in a simple way. Also the costs and the implementation time are usually afordable by a small company.

It also can be connected to other multiple systems which allow us to have real time results.

We aquired it license with HANA so the time it takes to process data is amazing

What do you dislike?

I think the consolidation interface / process should be improved. As this system can be use by frachises it is very dificul to have a multicompany result throw this system without any help.

Also the module that is used to reconciliate accruals agains really billings needs to be improved.

A more complete HR module is necesseary as well.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are using this system as a back office directle connecte to our ecommerce site and creating documents automatically.

"Excellent robust solution"

What do you like best?

I like the robustness of the system. It “guides” the user to good practices.

What do you dislike?

I dislike the long path to undo mistakes. In my country no cloud solution is available. I would like more connectivity with other systems and platforms.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I am not sure. Even though it is the best solution i have seen i am deeply interested in solutions available in the cliud with more feasibility to become multi sided platforms.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

"SAP Experience"

What do you like best?

Cross-functional all in one business solution.

What do you dislike?

Extremely difficult transition process from other platforms. Paid consultants large amounts of money to assist and still resulted in very poor go live.

Recommendations to others considering the product

SAP has to make assisting their clients with a more structured less costly transition plan upfront. Clients are spending large sums of money on consultants with minimal guidance unless you pay the extremely pricey SAP costs. Our mapping process was done very poorly and greatly underestimated the transition time.
