What do you like best?
We started using Roambi several years ago after I saw a demo copy loaded on an iPad at an electronics store. I needed something that did not cost a fortune, but allowed me to communicate data to various users so they could monitor the state of business and do ad-hoc analysis while travelling. The financial and time investment were very reasonable for a small company. Recent updates to the security options with Roambi Business have allowed me to expand what we can provide and include more sensitive information. I can now also specify by user which reports they can see. In addition Roambi offers easy to implement options to facilitate updates of report information as frequently as we need.
What do you dislike?
There is nothing specifically I do not like. Roambi continues to expand the reporting options, and I hope they will continue to do that. There are a few functional additions I would love to see in the future. One would be the ability to copy an existing report, then use a new data feed and simply re-map the fields. The second would be the ability for the admin to DOWNLOAD the last data file.
Recommendations to others considering the product
Make sure you have someone with good data handling experience and understands how the end users think and use information to manage the creation of the reports and data feeds.
Take advantage of the Roambi support services, the team is fantastic. We implemented completely in-house, and scheduled a few training/conference calls with their support for areas (like the automatic up-loader) that were a little more difficult. I also contact support if I want a report to do something that is not obvious, I get quick response and usually they can find a way to do what I need.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We have a highly mobile staff, so the number one problem we solved was a way to provide information that is available from anywhere without having to search through email or connect to a company server to find what they need.
In addition, Roambi has taken a load off of our internal IT and analytical resources. Information is available in an easy to follow format, and our management team can often get answers to questions without having to request support.
