SEIS

What do you like best?

SEIS allows me to easily access student information, IEPs, documents, and forms in an organized manner.

What do you dislike?

Very recently, SEIS updated the website to a new version called SEIS 2.0. I am still learning how to navigate the new platform. Sometimes it is difficult to see the whole page appropriately, depending on your web browser/computer settings.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Easily manage your case load by using SEIS. It also helps your organization and planning.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

SEIS allows me to easily manage student data and documents. I can log-in to SEIS and access everything within minutes (student's address or phone number, IEP's (past and present), create progress reports, update IEP's, access forms and documents, etc). If I did not use SEIS, it would take a lot of effort from myself to organize everything. SEIS is very beneficial to all users, as it makes it easy to access, update, and share information.

SEIS Is Magic

What do you like best?

SEIS has allowed me to write IEP easier. I like the ability to share only the required information with colleagues and not need to make hard copies.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes SEIS does undatea at 9-10 pm when I need to work on IEP’s late, which I shouldn’t do at home anyway.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It’s a tool worth trying to save special education teachers time and resources.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have easy access to student files online. No need to carry a folder or dig through papers when I can view the file from my phone or laptop.

Can be more aesthetic, but pretty straight forward.

What do you like best?

I use it everyday so I know my way around, but it's quick to grasp.

What do you dislike?

The user interface can be more aesthetically pleasing and font can be bigger.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Playing around with it and being hands on is really the best way to learn SEIS.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I like that it tells you about CASEMIS errors that I often wouldn't catch with the human eye. It's quick and easy to affirm and attest IEPs.

User friendly language

What do you like best?

SEIS is relatively user friendly compared to similar programs. It uses simple, clear language, and there is plenty of space to input narrative information.

What do you dislike?

The format of the documents/pages can be confusing, especially when it is printed.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The program is well aligned with best practices for writing IEPs. It is easier for parents to understand the documents compared to other special education IEP writing databases. The language sounds less technical and the format allows educators to put in meaningful information rather than just checking boxes.

cut and dry IEP software

What do you like best?

SEIS is a relatively streamlined approach to creating/maintaining IEPs. Sections of the IEP are clearly outlined and differentiated. Everything is pretty cut and dry.

What do you dislike?

It can be difficult when a team would like to work on the same parts of an IEP, and the program does not allow it. For example, if the teacher is updating present levels, no other member of the IEP team has access to that information until the teacher logs off. If someone forgets to log off, everyone is shut out. The same will happen for the Educational Setting page.

Also, you can access the IEP from the Demographics page, but once you are in the future IEP for updating, you must navigate out of that page to get back to the demographics, which would have historical IEP information. Often times, this leads the educator to open secondary tabs to check back on information, which might lead to data loss if you update but do not save the most current page. It is an issue I have heard of happening multiple times.

Only educators who have been added as a service provider can access a student's IEP, which might serve to prevent privacy violations, but in my district only one person can add or remove a service provider, and sometimes you are unable to work on an IEP in the meantime because you have to wait to be added to the list. There have been times where I have had to log using another educator's information because I had not been cleared as a service provider in time.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

SEIS allows multiple members to work on an IEP in the privacy of their own classroom/office. This is a time saver.
