Provides discrete-event simulation engine & component library

What do you like best?

With SimEvents you can study the effects of task timing and resource usage on the performance of distributed control systems, software and hardware architectures, and communication networks. The best part of sim events is that it simplifies the visual conceptualization of the system to be implemented, and the number of statistical analysis and plotting functions within the Matlab environment..

What do you dislike?

The user interface can for sure be more intuitive and easier for beginners to navigate.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It is a good tool for the complex simulations and iterating them across scenarios. Can get consistent results and apply them across.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Used it across automotive manufacturing industry as part of the project management team where we are working on the integration of the production control & management teams and ensuring our models are efficient and optimized. Also conducted operational research for decisions related to forecasting, capacity planning, and supply-chain management.

Awesome experiance with simulations. A really user freindly software with much more advanced tools.

What do you like best?

SimEvents provides a discrete-event simulation engine and component library for analyzing event-driven system models and optimizing performance characteristics such as latency, throughput, and packet loss. Queues, servers, switches, and other predefined blocks enable you to model routing, processing delays, and prioritization for scheduling and communication.

What do you dislike?

Your computer need at least 4GB RAM to run a typical simulation fast enough

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With SimEvents you can study the effects of task timing and resource usage on the performance of distributed control systems, software and hardware architectures, and communication networks.

Wonderful tool to do a dynamic analysis plotting results

What do you like best?

So If we have to iterate around 1000 iterations for different condition. If we can write a program once then 1000 iterations would be done in minutes. So thats the most liked feature in this tool

What do you dislike?

The most disliked tool its not a user friendly we have to remember all the syntaxes very well or else it will throw errors which cant be fixed that easily

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

So when I was working on foot step power generation system. I have to iterate for different loads so calculating result each with formulae is a waste of time so i used this tool to iterate various results by writing the code once

Just drag and drop for event models

What do you like best?

The best part i find is the drag and drop interface it provides for building discrete event models which can be used as input in tools like simulink

What do you dislike?

user interface is a little confusing to stat with but slowly getting hands on is not hard

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Have used it in a project to create hybrid and multi domain systems which has time and event based components
