What do you like best?

I can offer a total learning experience for myself or my team. And that program will help me to do it. Very good that we have an easy chance to integrated with our existing business.

"User friendly LMS"

What do you like best?

The system is easy to use and the interface itself is user friendly. I also like that if employees are having issues they can engage in a chat session with SkillSoft support directly and get timely resolutions on their issues.

What do you dislike?

From the administrative side I do not like how Advanced Compliance and SkillPort function as two separate pieces. To the end-user they cannot tell the difference but on the admin side it's 2 different reports being run and 2 different content libraries.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are solving our safety training compliance issues by offering the training online. It is now accessible 24/7 and our employees can take their training anywhere. It has replaced our brick and mortar training we used to solely conduct.

"Love working with Skillport and their team"

What do you like best?

Easy to use interface, voting feature, offers recommendations on your homepage.

What do you dislike?

Loading screen - this feels a bit antiquated. When I click something, I expect it to take a moment to load and do not need to be told.

All team members are excellent. The helpdesk is especially helpful with any questions or concerns that I may have as an Admin.

Skillport provides an easy to user interface for training solutions. Benefits are the seamless integration as we use their content--this keeps it fresh and eliminates extra steps that are involved with a 3rd party LMS.

"I have access to this for work training."

What do you like best?

It's quick and gives an easy method for training delivery.

What do you dislike?

Mostly the training content...nothing about the program, just the training content kind of sucks. I suppose that's my company's fault.

Excellent method for training delivery. Just try to make the courses a bit more engaging. Taht's on you...not SkillPort.

"A diverse set of learning assets for all business functions"

What do you like best?

The catalog of learning assets from Skillsoft is impressive. Whether it be books, podcasts, videos or e-learning- Skillport has you covered. The UI is easy to navigate.

What do you dislike?

It is sometimes difficult to find exactly what you are looking for. There is a search function, but the filtering options aren't as diverse as I would like.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you need a large library of learning assets spanning many categories, skillport is a very good option to consider.

We took on skillsoft and skillport to give supplemental learning to our people out in the field for topics we hadn't built training for yet.

"Adequate Training Program"

What do you like best?

Skillport offers a really wide range of courses, which should be attractive to large organizations. The quality is consistently good across the 30-40 courses I've completed. There is a good range of intro courses to cert exam prep, too.

What do you dislike?

There isn't much challenge presented by the training modules. Pre-tests identify areas for improvement, and guided lessons are meant to help build that up. 80% scores are hardly mastery of a skill, though. System functionality can be a little choosy as well in my experience, but a desktop more focused on the latest versions than tight security should be fine.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The Skillport modules cover a variety of subjects pretty well, so teammates with technical backgrounds can work on their business writing essentials alongside those working on customer service skills. They aren't all certification prep, but they all communicate the basics effectively.

"Like It"

What do you like best?

Best Learning Management System in multiple languages

Ability to customize your content and even put your logo in your training content

What do you dislike?

Sometimes their learning path seems tedious to the normal student, but as an instructional design professional I understand why they need to teach the way they teach.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have offered Skillsoft to 100 users in our Technical Operations (manufacturing) function. Each user has access to 100 licenses. It mostly helped associates to read articles, listen to podcasts, and watch videos, and take quizes to improve their soft skills (communication, interpersonal skills).

"Skillport for Nonprofit"

What do you like best?

Very easy to navigate, modules are easy to use. You can click back if you want to re-read.

What do you dislike?

Issues with functionality from browser to browser. Also dislike that if you don't push 1 button at the very end you lose your entire progress and all of your answers on a tested module.

Solving problems faced with on-boarding new employees as well as maintaining up to date education for employees in the diabetes, population health and development spaces.

"SkillSoft "

What do you like best?

They have a very robust collection of professional development materials including books, videos and articles, specifically for Information technology folks.

What do you dislike?

The user interface is not intuitive-not user-friendly. The materials are all just there, only really organized by the resource type-sometimes it can be overwhelming. It needs to be organized in a better manner. It would be nice to have actual trainings established in the system, such as customer service training with videos and exercises (right now you can search those key words, but then you get a bunch of results that don't present a cohesive plan or training). The customer service is just OK, we have an account manager that doesn't actually do what she says she will in order to help us market this platform to our employees.

A lot of their books are not the most recent editions.

Recommendations to others considering the product

They have recently upgraded their user interface, which makes it better but still not the best. Keep reading reviews on other products. SkillSoft is also very expensive, so be sure your population will actually use it before you buy it. I wouldn't purchase this again unless I had a very large IT team since they monstly have IT materials.

We use this to provide professional development resources to our employees. Only 4% of our employee population currently use these materials. Some employees like that certification prep materials are provided through this platform.

"Easy to Understand"

What do you like best?

The module is easy to understand and navigate. It allows for categorizing online and in-person training modules while keeping a history of user achievements/certifications.

What do you dislike?

The layout of the program is a bit old school and in need of an update. Some of the controls are not very intuitive and on occasion the questions I have encountered in some of the lessons just don't make sense.

This program allows for large-scale training in self-paced modular format. If you have any required, repetitive training that needs to be done, this can be a good option. It is not a good medium for interpersonal skills.

"Skillsoft "

What do you like best?

The best thing I like about Skillsoft is the interactive training courses.

What do you dislike?

I think the Mobile application needs some improvement. It does offer as much functionality as the desktop version.

What do you like best?

It is useful for training and reminding the workforce to do their required training's..

What do you dislike?

Skillsoft is very basic and is becoming quickly outdated. The training's are not aesthetically pleasing.

I would explore other options prior to selecting skillport. However, it will meet the basic needs of a business, at a fairly low cost

"Useable, but not the best user interface."

What do you like best?

It is a good repository for books, videos, articles, and other professional development items. It is also a pretty good system for registering for in person or online professional development opportunities within the company. Online tutorials stream well.

What do you dislike?

The interface is outdated. It is not intuitive and it is not always easy to navigate to what you are looking for. The search does not always seem to return the best results. The player for the online tutorial often requires a particular browser to be used, or downloading third-party software to run the video.

This is used for professional development opportunities. It is a knowledge repository as well as a system used to register for in person trainings and webinars.

"Skillsoft Software"

What do you like best?

The software is used by faculty and staff on the Valdosta State University campus as tool for Annual Compliance Training and as source to increase training in other skills, such as excel spreadsheets.

What do you dislike?

The software is easy to access and navigate through. To be the best of my knowledge, I do not see any glitches or problems with the software.

We use Skillport for many of our programs. It's easy to navigate, attractive, and quick. I highly recommend it.

What do you like best?

The ease of accessing various training options. We find more employee taking advantage of the trainings offered.

Can be confusing, if the user isn't familiar with using online training tools. We find that providing a quick guide eliminates this issue.

We've had this for years, but had less than 2% of employees using it. Just not worth it - and haven't been able to figure out how to increase usage.
