"Dameware "

What do you like best?

The ability to seamlessly remote onto user PC's with little to no connectivity problems. It is reflective of the user's workstation and has no limit of accessibility. All the shortcuts and functions are easy to use and manageable.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes, when you've initiated a remote session with a user and somehow get disconnected, it still assumes you're on the PC. Although, this is not a large problem, it causes a latency between getting connected. It has a waiting period where it assumes it;s asking you to share a session and then allows you access.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It's a great product with few flaws. The MRC Mirror Driver allows several different options and the control panel is expertly laid out for optimization.

The ease of access when communicating with users. There's no guesswork with what they're looking at.

"Best remote support software, bar none!"

What do you like best?

The mirrror driver. With dameware i can remote into a pc, and unlike RDP it is just like I am sitting in front of it. Also i can turn off the remote users keyboard which prevents interruptions.

What do you dislike?

I don't really have any complaints. My one gripe is that it can be laggy over vpn.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Buy it, buy it now. Dameware is the best remote control tool on the market. Solarwinds provides top notch support but i doubt you will ever need it because this tool is extremely reliable and easy to use.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Able to remote in and support any user on a windows machine. I can shadow them to troubleshoot an issue and then take control if need be.

"Remote Support needs met!"

What do you like best?

Using DameWare to remotely support the technical needs of our locations makes the IT Support process easy and quick. The system offers dual-user remote access, so several members of the team can have access to one access point, which makes collaboration effective. Freezing the access of the user's computer we are trying to remote to ,through the Lock option, is also very helpful, as sometimes the actions of the user might interfere with our attempts to help them. DameWare also allows saving multiple remote IP points for easy access.

What do you dislike?

The interface of DameWare could use a little sharpening. Depending on the resolution of the end-point computer a user is trying to access, the DameWare access screen might be shifted and out of zoom.

I recommend DameWare for your business operations, especially if you are in the tech support field.

We use DameWare to remote into 1000+ locations off and on our business headquarters.

"Amazing remote desktop application!"

What do you like best?

I am extremely impressed at the integration of ADS. Its basically a one stop shop where remote activity is concerned. also impressed at the upload folder and how it handles sharing.

What do you dislike?

Not much to dislike but for security and monitoring purposes, would be nice if we had an option to disable the connection notification from an administrators stand point. Also, an update to the UI would also be appreciated.

I would recommend this application to every ICT help desk department. really helpful tool.

Tickets resolved far quicker. This tool has been a really good asset to our ICT team. Comes highly recommended.

"Easy and fast access to remote PC across company."

What do you like best?

Easily connect to any PC within a Microsoft domain or not. The installation on the client can be pushed through the network or deployed through GPO. A chat is also included and can be very helpful when you can't reach the user on phone. The program handles multiple monitors computers as well and features a few usefull Tools like an integrated ping function (useful when you reboot a computer and want to reconnect on it on completion.) About nice features, there is a file transfer module, a screenshot tool, a remote keyboard/mouse lock and a print function.

What do you dislike?

There is a "maintenance expired banner" which is quite anoying because even if you close it, your remote PC will dedoublate the start menu bar...

There is a lot of remote desktop software but you should give a try to this one which is simple and efficient.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our assistance department is using it to help resolving user problems ; it's always best to see user desktop and to show him what to do. Also we use it to connect to servers in order to execute regular tasks.

"Robust remote control without breaking the bank!"

What do you like best?

Dameware allows remote access to any PC you have administrative rights to, with remote installation.

What do you dislike?

Since being acquired by SolarWinds, they often try to push me into a more expensive product with features I do not need.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Licensing is per technician, regardless of the number of devices supported. This makes is extremely economical for small businesses on a budget. The remote agent is an msi and can be deployed to your workstations, and the service can be set to disable. Dameware will remotely start the service when you attempt to make a connection, and then disable the service when you disconnect. This keeps Dameware from slowing down your systems. The desktop only needs to be powered on, and you can log in remotely as different users. Dameware has the ability to lock the remote user's keyboard and mouse so that they cannot interfere while you while you are working. You can even blank out their screen.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I can quickly solve most desktop problems without leaving my office. It takes only a few moments to connect to any PC on my network.
