"Get your Innovation program a step further!"

What do you like best?

Our current program used to rely on spreadsheets and access database. Moving to Spigit allowed us to become more efficient and automate our process.

It gives a very nice visibility to all submissions, and encourages users to collaborate, like a social media platform

What do you dislike?

We would like to see easier ways of exporting ideas. Currently, Spigit leverages a 3rd party vendor . We would like that our users search in their tool and export their results.

We would like to have clearer visual for category moderators: our program gets a lot of ideas so when you have very large numbers, it'S easy to lose track on what's on your plate. You then need to use the reports provided by the 3rd party, build your own dashboards, etc

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are bringing visibility to our ideas (our users complained the program wasn't transparent), which in return decreases our duplicated submissions

It improves our process time

"Great, comprehensive solution for idea management "

What do you like best?

- Layout is user-friendly;

- Messaging, rewards management and idea discussion can be done in the same place;

- Fairly easy to launch, edit timed challenges;

- Allows administrators to add customised content, e.g., success stories, any other comms

What do you dislike?

- No mobile app for the software, and mobile version of the website does not have access to features that are not part of the ongoing challenges;

- Reporting does not include export of details in the idea templates

- Names of common widgets (to select for display) are not entirely straightforward

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our focus is mainly to boost the organisation innovation culture, and problems are related to customer experience and the efficiency of our operations. Key benefits realised are more transparency on the management of ideas arising from the ground and a greater awareness of the relationship between ideation, problem-solving and innovation.

"Best tool for crowd sourcing ideation"

What do you like best?

Flexibility of the tool to adapt to multiple client situations. Ability to customize a challenge to a specific audience or crowd. We have run over 1000 challenges that are very diverse. It is has been able to adapt to all of the situations we have attempted. Some time takes a bit of work with the tool to get it right, but so far it has been outstanding.

Another component I like a lot is the inisghts tool and ability to embedded dashboards.

What do you dislike?

Some of the recent UI improvements are not really improvements. Specifically, I liked the Ball effect for the Idea Stages. The new approach is not very useful. On the plus side of the new UI, I do like the Admin console, especially the graduation criteria panel.

"A complete platform"

What do you like best?

I have looked at several innovation/idea management platforms, and so far Spigit seems to stand out as the most complete platform. I like the over all simplicity and robustness. We were able to quick implement SSO and set up our challenges.

What do you dislike?

The user interface looks a bit dated and can use a new refreshed look. Being able to add your branding is good, but that part can be more feature-rich. The user permissions and a mix of SSO/form-login for a wide mix of end users would be beneficial too.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make sure you have a good strategy and goal before making a platform decision. It requires a lot of financial and time investment to roll out an idea management software

Spigit is our primary idea management platform. We have a large group of talented people with many technical/non-technical backgrounds. It is vital for us to ensure that we are capturing ideas from everyone and applying these ideas timely and effectively.

"Fabulous Experience"

What do you like best?

I personally love the way that Spigit has developed a clear process for leveraging your crowd. While there are some aspects that are customizable, the standard Spigit approach works really well. I love the ability to pull reports and get a clear picture of how to create an amazing experience for our end users. When first launching, Spigit provided great support and helped us navigate and we've really gone from strength to strength as a result. The support team are quick and really do whatever they can to sort out any issues timeously. I also really appreciate their openness to feedback (based on the user experience) and how they will endeavour to make those changes on the platform. Makes it feel like we're all working together for the best crowd-sourcing platform (they practice what they preach:))

What do you dislike?

There are some pieces that are cumbersome and difficult to navigate (can't be customized). They are still new so getting all the algorithms right can only come with time (i.e. Pairwise).

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Currently looking for ways to clear the clutter, create the ultimate customer experience, build on the culture. We've had some really excellent feedback from business with a "surprise" response in terms of engagement from the business areas. People are really enjoying it and love the "fun" that comes with participating in challenges.

"Don't even try and do crowd sourced innovation on a big scale without Spigit"

What do you like best?

It just works. People love using it. It solves the problem, not just of finding ideas, but the much bigger problem of finding the best ideas.

What do you dislike?

There's probably too much functionality that I've never used.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Look beyond the problem of engaging people to find ideas. There's a million ways of doing that - Spigit is very good at it, but its core capability which you shouldn't underestimate is the job of sifting the good from the not so good ideas.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Two problems: engaging people, involving them in change which we measure by the number of people we can get participating. We've exceeded 25% of employees on each challenge. Depending on the nature of the challenge, we choose ideas based on the ROI which can be calculated in Spigit.

Secondly, solving tricky problems by finding ideas from the front-line. Here the ROI is likely to be far more important.

"Great for Ideation and Beyond"

What do you like best?

I like this system's ease of use. Users are able to use the tool without training, so they can focus on providing valuable information rather than trying to understand the system's use.

What do you dislike?

I really like the system, and the support provided. I am still learning the system, but have no major concerns. I think there is a steeper learning curve for the role of administrator, but this is to be expected.

This is a user friendly and fun system to use. It is rich with features that we are still exploring.

"Created great business success through tremendous good accepted idea challenges with help by SPIGIT"

What do you like best?

Flexible to configure and to use according the own needs. Great volume of features. Easy configuration when passing the initial admin training. Great support by SPIGIT pro's, leading you for the first steps (if you like) and shipping you around the cliffs, for getting a total success already at the first idea competition.

What do you dislike?

Only a minor note: As it is the same platform for all using companies, it is not easy, to put a desirable new feature into developing queue.

Recommendations to others considering the product

As on every other innovation tool a thorough preparation of the idea challenge is the key to the success. So I recommend to let the SPIGIT pro's take you by the hand for the first run, for having a real success.

The overall use is quite easy and the implementation of a secure login 'single sign on' (SSO) from the company network using ID card or 'One Time Password' (OTP) providing a sure login for users of mobile devices is possible, to protect your results.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Getting people engaged to share their ideas in several idea competitions from service related topic over product improvements, new product suggestions, to production improvements at a 360.000 employee company.

Driving over 100 idea challenges from more than 20 different business units of our company during the last 4 years, receiving more than 4000 ideas, which were attracting more than 60.000 different users causing more that 80.000 views, creating over 20.000 comments, leaving over 55.000 votes and more than 10.000 reviews.

What do you like best?

Spigit provides unparallelled support and community of practice for progam administrators. They also practice what they teach; always making improvements based on customer input.

What do you dislike?

We tend to be one of few customers in Canada, I am looking forward to a more local community to collaborate with as Spigit expands futher throughout western Canada.

"Multi-functional and easy to use. "

What do you like best?

I was able to self-teach myself how to navigate and configure the software. It also works great for idea management and progression- the voting and collaboration is a powerful tool that provides quick feedback. We've been able to use the platform for both Innovation Challenges and as a Project Tracker. The project section of the site captures key Initiation details about each project and enable us to review and assess validity of each proposed project.

What do you dislike?

The terminology; a definitions manual would be great to explain the community hierarchy and roles within the system. The admin training provided was very basic; it would be good if it was more specialised and not just targetted at beginners.

Improve Innovation - generate efficiency through cost savings and new ideas to generate revenue.

"Spigit is very user friendly with a fantastic support team"

What do you like best?

Spigit's support team is phenomenal. They are so quick to get back to you with a response whether solved or not and are great to work with you to solve your issues. Also, the team as a whole is great. Andreanna Romano has regular check ins to make sure that we are still progressing, any new tips, and also helps if we are having any issues.

What do you dislike?

There were a couple of bugs with the update, we are awaiting fixes for, but this is really minor.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are tapping into our customer knowledge in real time that when employees have customer visits, they can enter their ideas in for others to see instantly and collaborate on a solution. Our always open challenge also invites employees to enter their own ideas for new products or improvements. We have 5 ideas that have moved into our stage-gate process and many that are seriously being evaluated. We have had other challenges in other organizations and more in the pipeline, with the challenges being diverse.

"Spigit is a good ideation tool"

What do you like best?

Spigit has a good way of tapping in to your work force and pulling ideas out that may not normally be brought to the light. They have a quick and easy way to setup "Challenges" within your organization to help capture these ideas.

What do you dislike?

The down side is that they are a good "idea bucket" not helping with tracking and implementing those ideas. There is no good system that help you drive ideas into implementation.

Again Spigit will help capture your ideas but you are on your own to implement and make sure your ideas are tracked in your own system.

"Powerful but somewhat difficult UI"

What do you like best?

The Idea submission forms and voting system work very well and are very easy to layout in a way that facilitates participation

What do you dislike?

Admin on the site can be difficult. Trying to make an ideation session match external website in formatting and branding can be challenging due to limitations in customization. It can also be difficult to group idea submitters in order to send follow-up emails.

We are attempting to get more people inside a large company involved in innovation in their daily roles as employees. Spigit allows us to incentive participation, and allows employees to interact with each other in new ways that spur more creative thinking.

"Software is great but professional services are outstanding!"

What do you like best?

I like the ease of use and the ability to customize it to our needs. Our users also love the interace and I get comments constantly about how easy it is to use. In a world of corporate red tape, Spigit makes one thing simple - ideation. I also liked working with the professional services team. They were extremely helpful in not only setting up the site but making me think differently about innovation. They are truly innovation experts!

What do you dislike?

I dislike that sometimes it's hard to set up a new challenge format. Because the system is so advanced, there are so many different features, sometimes it's hard to set up a brand new, simple challenge. I went to trianing as well, it's just that the system can do so many different things, I want to be sure I'm not missing a step when settting up a new challenge.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Have a full time posiiton or two depending on size and how many challenges you want to implement. In order to do multiple challenges consurrently, you need a dedicated internal resource.

We are trying to look for new ways across our different product lines to create complimentary offerings or brand new offerings to meet our customer's needs. We have gotten a lot of collaboration amongst teams that don't normally work together. It's helping bring things full circle and making the best utilization of the resources we already have.

"My 3 year experience with Spigit"

What do you like best?

What I like about the Spigit tool is the idea of having challenges to compel the competitive and innovative spirit, in addition it helps to foster a collaborative environment, as people share their ideas, others offer suggestions to improve and that the Spigit tool gets the general population involved in voting for ideas.

What do you dislike?

I work in a busy environment, and it was hard to get people to go in and just view the ideas out there, to offer opinions and ask questions. When we had challenges, then we had people looking, but when we had a general challenge open (it never closed), it was difficult to get anyone to go in and review ideas. This in itself it not a fault with the Spigit tool, rather the way we were using the Spigit tool. I'm not so sure about the Insights reporting tool, we just started using it, and it's not very intuitive. In time through use, we'll probably get used to it.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We used Spigit to help build a culture of Innovation in our group (CQN). After three years of using the tool and implementing the CQN Innovation program, we have a culture of innovation now, where more innovations are celebrated and highlighted, and through increased visibility through News letters, presentations to senior management, a quarterly innovation shark tank, and even a live shark tank we've saved millions of dollars in productivity and cost avoidance, and shared and adapted innovations cross groups.

What do you like best?

I like that you are able to design your platform in way you like in terms of branding. It gives you a sense of pride and ownership of the platform and ability to make it line up perfectly with your company branding.

"Awesome way to engage an organization"

What do you like best?

The platform has allowed ideas to be shared really quickly across many departments in our organization.

"Good platform, now lets make it great!"

What do you like best?

Easy to use with an intuitive user interface design for participants. Given that is based on social-media it feels and becomes really collaborative. Creating new challenges is relatively easy.

What do you dislike?

Needs some improvement in the admin experience. Although the support is great, there are still many issues to be solved and features to be improve. Managing the widgets is quite tedious if you're not really familiar with the exact names of the ones you're looking for.

The search field needs some improvement and the insights tool is quite tedious to create new reports (it is really time consuming).

Tasks should be supported on the mobile version.

Increase in participation during the problem solving/ideation phases. We've been currently using Spigit for almost a year now, just using the challenge based feature. We've tackled different business problems, from environmental ones to production or strategic ones.

"Aesthetic, functionality and support is outstanding"

What do you like best?

The aesthetic gives a much more professional feel to our site, and operationally, this feels like a website, which is better/more intuitive for the end user. Internally, the flexibility of the application and the functionality solve many reporting problems, create efficiency and prevents much double documentation that my team currently has to do.

What do you dislike?

Some of the required elements on the forms don't match 100% with the way that we need to do business. For example, we have to have a unique name that the user enters, however, we have many repeat users and therefore that needed to be solved for creatively.

I like the ability to pair like ideas together with a specific algorithm to ensure that the most identified fields make it to the top.

"Spigit has helped enhance our innovative culture"

What do you like best?

I like the consultative approach that the Spigit team takes.

What do you dislike?

The site navigation needs a bit of an overhaul. It is not very intuitive, but once you find everything, it becomes easier.

There needs to be more flexibility with the challenge set up.

Reporting needs to be enhanced. It is a bit clunky when building a new report.

What do you dislike?

Idea form is static within a challenge/community from one stage to another. Would be nice if you could activate/unhide fields based on context, i.e. within a stage. This might allow for idea management beyond concept, i.e. lifecycle of development.

"Great for Groups"

What do you like best?

I love that you can see feedback real time. Easy for remote employees to weigh in on ideas.

What do you dislike?

Over all it there wasn't much I didn't like. I didn't not have to do any of the set up so I can't grade that- I did hear a few things from coworkers that it wasn't totally intuitive.

As I first time use, I thought it was great. It was neat to see everyone's feedback right away and it was easy to leave my own. Looking forward to getting to know/use the program more!

Development path seems to be moving along competitor feature list rather than customer needs. Availability of Assistance and support from Spigit.

Excellent for sponsored time-bound challenges. Has reasonable modification and customization opportunities, although recently that has gone to a worse direction. Not optimal for follow up, portfolio monitoring or concept development. But sertainly good platform for idea collection and crowd engagement. Some of hte crowd science features only work on specific industry areas and in large organizations.

What do you like best?

Spigit is quite easy to use and flexible, we were able to create a few different models for sourcing ideas. The crowd sourcing aspect made user engagement high.

There isn't much to speak of as a platform - the key to any ideation initiative requires follow-through of selected ideas.

No bulk action to approve tasks. Too many clicks to approve one task.

What do you like best?

Spigit provides you with one single approach along with a underlying technology at once. The team can help you with designing your innovation challenge or a program, designing your website, providing you with all tools to manage idea applications along the whole cycle, etc. Along with all great services, the Spigit team always engages with you as part of your team and provides unique tips related to your program.

What do you dislike?

As any platform, Spigit still working on adding new functionalities. Sometimes, you need to find ways around, but you always get solutions.

I love the functionality and multiple features that can be customized for your business needs. It is easy to use, visually appealing and working with Spigit is always a pleasure

There are some limitations on reporting that tend to make some tasks time consuming.

The tool itself is very easy to use both for the end user and the administrators perspective.

"Good software to deploy innovation challenge"

What do you like best?

I like that has a very good idea maduration process, sometimes is hard to have a department focused on reviewing all the ideas. With this process more people participates and it is easier for administrators.

What do you dislike?

In general the platform is easy to use (from an administrator perspective), but there are some things that are predetermined and you cant change.

What do you like best?

The tool was very easy to use and was the backbone of our Company Innovation Shark Tank Challenge. As a result of the collaboration, we are flush with wonderful ideas which we have continued to build upon. Excited times!

What do you like best?

I love the out of the box thinking, and the follow up we have received from the team so far. No matter if you are a well invested client or just considering the project they are there every step of the way. I have very welcomed through this entire trip.

"Challenges are very easy to start up. "

What do you like best?

The ease of configuring a challenge and the settings for sites can be reproducible. You can save a lot of time by creating templates and reusing the existing configurations.

What do you dislike?

There are many different APIs. Be great to have one with a lot of services and calls. API has a latency.

The Spigit Support team has been very invested in making sure I have a positive experience with the platform; they are available to answer questions, and are thorough in getting me any needed information.

What do you dislike?

The site can be a bit buggy; links breaks easily and admin capabilities can be difficult to navigate.

Stable platform. Good configuration opportunities.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes a bit clunky user interface and hard to find things in a campaign. Lack of support for the Exploration phase/ Customer Validation phase once a winning idea is chosen and that idea needs more testing before implementing (i.e., more disruptive or new business model like).

I like the collaboration and voting aspects of this tool. The support team is SO easy to work with.

Around the insights analytics....Not sure how these are calculated specifically. A better search option would be beneficial and also dynamic forms would add so make value for this tool.
