Easy to Use, Lacking Some Functionality

What do you like best?

It's super simple it is to use in pulling content from social platforms and uploading content and re-arranging it in the order you need. An easy way to organize social content in one place, also inexpensive.

What do you dislike?

Some functionality is lacking and can be basic at best in some posts have errors that have to be corrected manually, could have some styling options. Limited in the amount of templates that are available.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Very basic storytelling tool, but works well if that's exactly what you need it for (aggregating social content in one place). Good starter tool for small organizations.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Collecting posts around a certain hashtag, topic or event to log for future campaigns or reach-outs. Nice to have everything aggregated around one link for sharing.

Review for Storify

What do you like best?

I really like Storify because you can visualize a conversation or event in one creative and easy to view place. It's easy to search for hashtags and trending topics and apply them to your story. I also like that you can combine thoughts and hashtags. Sometimes during Twitter chats, people will forget to use the hashtag or accidentally use the wrong one. With Storify, I can include these posts in the same conversation without messing up the continuity. That way, people can see more than what they would see just searching the hashtag. I also like that search results come up chronologically. This is particularly helpful during our conference so I am able to break up different events instead of having a mass of different posts. It also allows for less popular posts to be viewed. Using text and headers is another great part about Storify. It's not just creating a collection of posts; I am able to neatly separate thoughts and parts of conversation while making it visually appealing.

What do you dislike?

It can be hard to remember sometimes that the first photo ADDED to the story is the display photo. I sometimes forget and think that it's the first photo of the story. I would like for there to be a way to change what photo is displayed when sharing the story or viewing your profile.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Consider the need for making a story with Storify. I don't use this just to display mentions. This is best for Twitter chats, specific conversations about your industry or relating to your business or any event you may have. I also like to share with users that their content is in my Storify before sharing on social media and other platforms.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

While Storify isn't solving any particular business problem, it allows for us to expand our online presence in a creative way. When we have an event or Twitter chat, we are able to share the information with others. For events, we can timeline what happened through photos and posts. The majority of our events have a training component to them and attendees often tweet out quotes that stuck with them. I'm able to organize these thoughts to be used as a training tool for others and a refreshers for attendees.

A simple, straightforward way to collect and organize posts

What do you like best?

The best thing about Storify is how simple it is to use. You can directly connect to your various social media accounts and easily start pulling in content, whether it's your own posts or the posts of your users. What's more, you can then easily rearrange this content to present it in an order that fits best for whatever story you're telling, whether that's chronological or something more specific than that.

What do you dislike?

The functionality is lacking at times when dealing with a large number of posts, especially when pulling in comments from Facebook. There is some extra effort required to make sure you brought in the correct posts, as sometimes they will begin repeating without any warning. On top of that, the rendering sometimes fails to work for Facebook posts when they're embedded within your story, which can cause some issues.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you're looking for a fully customizable storytelling tool, Storify probably isn't for you. You can only do so much in terms of customizing the look and feel of your stories, not to mention there are a limited amount of templates for how your story will be presented. If you're looking for a simple storytelling tool that will get your company started, then this is a great introduction.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have lots of posts from our followers on social media, and a lot of times these posts are answers to questions we've presented. Rather than just have those posts live within each individual channel, we like being able to collect them and tell a story with them. That allows us to then reshare that story and make use out of content that is provided by our followers. Storify provides an easy way to organize all of that content and present it in an easy-to-view story that can live on beyond social media.

Storify - great for consolidating social media hits

What do you like best?

We love that Storify lets us bring in mentions from social media and traditional media in one place, It's great for doing report backs to executives or for sharing our media mentions to a larger audience in one place.

What do you dislike?

It can sometimes be hard to find all the mentions we want, and there isn't a lot of flexibility in layout.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It's a simple platform, so not the best if you're looking for something more sophisticated, but very good as an easy way to show coverage.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It allows us to show a range of coverage from both social media and traditional media in a consolidated way. It is very helpful in being able to present coverage from our major events or hashtags.

Used for Tweet collections

What do you like best?

It's dynamic ability to display different type of social media in an attractive way.

What do you dislike?

It can get very, very slow and doesn't have great search functions.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It's a great tool but is a little dated. If you are using it for a website, you're better off embedding tweets instead of using this tool, which could make you look amateur.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Collecting tweets centered on a specific campaign.

Great for reporting events or competitions

What do you like best?

Ability to add content from any of the major social platforms as well as free text and images.

What do you dislike?

Would prefer more styling options for embedding into a blog. Some long storify's won't fully embed in to a WP blog.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I prefer to report on events and competitions with the latest event at the top, which storify makes easy by showing your oldest content first.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

To easily share the progress of an event using social content from others, as opposed to in-house generated content. It's a great way to show scale of an event and attendee involvement.
