"StyleCop "

What do you like best?

StyleCopes is a software that is installed in visual studio and helps us to establish a standard of coding through a series of rules that are established and that are configurable by us, it also allows the creation of our own rules, it has served us to standardize the code of the whole work team and maintain a code cleaner and understandable by all the team.

Its use is very simple you can analyze a specific file or the entire solution, through an option in the contextual menu, the results of the analysis can be seen in the error window and these can be configured to appear as warnings or errors.

It is really very useful and if combined with Resharper the productivity rises

What do you dislike?

the learning curve is high, since having a series of rules already stipulated must learn and understand these rules so that the work begins to flow, while these rules are learned the production goes down a bit.

at the moment it is only available for C#

Recommendations to others considering the product

It is very useful to recommend if they can afford the Resharper to do so to work with both, also before implementing it in the work team should study the rules that are already configured and create the configuration that fits your company, thus avoid lowering the production as soon as possible

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

a coding standard has been created, which allows us an easy reading of the code no matter who wrote it
