Consistent, hard working, and collaborative

What do you like best?

Almost 100% the time, we are on the phone with the correct person. This has not always been the case with other lead gen providers we’ve used in the past, but is a really wonderful competitive advantage that SalesStaff has.

Also, we have a pretty unique sales approach that does take awhile to embrace, but SalesStaff works hard to collaborate with us and tailor their process/approach to meet our requirements.

What do you dislike?

Because our sales process is so unique/different, we do have to sometimes steer SalesStaff back to our strategy. This isn't unusual, even for people within our own organization. We have a passive/blue ocean sales approach and this can take a long time to truly adopt. So occasionally, the process/general strategy SalesStaff has in place doesn't always align, but they always work with us and hear us when we ask to redirect.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Invest in the on-boarding time. Take the time to really ask questions, explain your story/how you go to market, and work together if you see something you don't like or that doesn't fit your expectations. They will work with you on problems you're having, but you have to work with them too.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our goal is to find the pain out there in the big wide world. We're always trying to find the pain - in our own customer base and within net new contacts. SalesStaff helps us address the net new contacts that we don't often have the time or resources to go out and find ourselves. We treat this as another channel/an overlay to our own internal Business Development team.

In the year and a half that we've been engaged with SalesStaff, we have been introduced to many net new contacts/companies that fit our target audience. You really can't beat that. I don't think there's one perfect solution out there, but SalesStaff gets very close!

Consistent, high-quality leads for our inside sales team

What do you like best?

From the beginning, SalesStaff took the time to understand our business and the goals of our marketing department. We had a few introductory calls in which we outlined the goals for our campaign, defined our target market, and established key performance indicators that the campaign would be judged against. After this, we started a 100-day pilot program and started receiving leads.

Once we started receiving leads through our online portal, we found that the leads were high-quality and gave us quite a bit of information about the prospect. We created an effective process internally for reaching out to the leads via email and phone, which has lead to around ~10% of leads turning into appointments within the first 3 months.

Finally, our account manager John Miller has been an absolute pleasure to work with during our campaigns. He is very responsive when we ask him questions and is more than willing to check the validity of any leads we have questions about.

What do you dislike?

Occasionally, we will receive a large batch of leads instead of a consistent flow as desired, which can be stressful for our inside sales. Also, some of the leads were outside of our desired geographical area, but once SalesStaff was alerted of this they replaced them at no cost.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you are looking to generate more warm leads for your sales team, then SalesStaff may be right for your company.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our main problem is generating enough warm leads for our inside sales team, which then set appointments for our outside sales team. SalesStaff has provided an excellent supply of warm data using their team of email / telemarketers. Our company has a lean sales team and we do not have the resources to make as many cold calls, so they have really accelerated the number of appointments in our pipeline.

Poor results, terrible customer management.

What do you like best?

Poor engagement, no results from their demand generation efforts. Terrible account management, resolving door or account reps.

What do you dislike?

We had four different account reps on the campaign, no results to speak of as they never really understood our business. Reps and management are surly and they work to lock people into pre-paid contracts against which they know they likely will never deliver. I inherited the engagement, never would have pre-paid for any demand generation, also would have been more rigorous with them as a vendor. They frequently no-showed our weekly calls, had no information or metrics to share and promised they would have them on the next call which they never did. Only willing to refund a very small portion of our money, a total loss.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Seek alternatives. I am sure this was not all their fault but they are the classic demand generation scam type of company.

Consistent effort, good flexibility as business changes and great communication

What do you like best?

As our business has changed over the time we have worked with SalesStaff, they have adjusted accordingly. Communication and consistent effort are much appreciated. Has been a good partner for us.

What do you dislike?

Only that I can't wave my magic wand and have opportunities that are immediately ready for pipeline or closing. I don't know that any company or person can do this though - right?

Define and agree upon what you are asking them to do. Define what success looks like on both sides.

Scaling our org and outreach. We have extended our reach in the market and our messaging in the market as a result of working with SalesStaff. We have increased our pipeline significantly over the time we have worked with them.

What do you like best?

Senior management is willing to step in and help if the program is not running the way you hoped it would.

What do you dislike?

It's hard to measure success, many of our leads were no-shows, so there is a major time commitment to doing follow ups. I think the main thing to dislike is the amount of time both sides have to spend. With that being said, Salesstaff is also investing a lot of time to generate the leads.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Ask questions before signing on..it's only fair to both businesses. They will give you honest information about their process to see if it is a fit. I think if I would have asked more questions up front we would have had a smoother experience as we went further into the relationship.

We are still working with them on a lead generation campaign. They have recently shown a commitment to modify our program to try and help us be more successful.

An Extension of Your Team

What do you like best?

SalesStaff does an excellent job of understanding this portion of the sales process and ensuring that they are attuned to your business up-front. They develop a comprehensive Call Plan with the client and ensure their inside callers are equipped with common objections and how to overcome them. The individual assigned to our account actually felt like an extension to our team. Leads had no idea that they were not part of our company and in several unsolicited comments from them, felt they were very professional when establishing an appointment for me.

What do you dislike?

While we are just finishing up the trial period with them, there is some contractual concern around when a lead becomes billable. We had several triple no shows for a phone meeting and they had considered them complete, even after we communicated the fact, (via their QC Survey), the lead did not show for the call. We were able to successfully resolve this issue and will ensure the question of: When a Lead becomes Billable is address so all understand it in future engagements.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Ensure you give them as much info up front around your ideal customer, so they establish a call plan that surgically pinpoints that customer. Also understand their 'Return Policy" and what is considered billable.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Of course everyone wants to resolve the problem of how to drive new business. While this was a trial period for us, and they helped us get to the "decision maker" for our product and service, our selling cycle is long and buyers are many times contractually tied to someone else for years. Our challenge is keeping our company "top of mind", so when the contract does expire they consider us. This service has made us realize we really need to have an ongoing drip marketing campaign parallel to this service..
