"syncHR provides a great blend of payroll and HR services"

What do you like best?

syncHR is unique (as far as I'm aware) in allowing you to run multiple concurrent payrolls for multiple time periods. Additionally, syncHR's data structure allows you to house information at both a position and a person level. This is a radical and revolutionary switch from our former payroll provider.

What do you dislike?

Implementation instructions were not as clear as I would have liked. I felt like we needed to follow-up and lead the way or items would have gotten missed. In our first year of use, we have had some issues with benefits and in setting up the GL correctly. Support can sometimes take too long to get back to you.

Recommendations to others considering the product

During implementation just remember that no one cares about your implementation the way that YOU do. Take responsibility for it and for continuing application after implementation. The system can do amazing things but only if you learn how to do them.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Improved our payroll process and allowed us to continue to direct deposit to employee's bank accounts within 5 days after the pay period ends. SyncHR has also helped us improve our reporting.

"Great HCM Solution"

What do you like best?

The things I like most about SyncHR include: 1) Position Control – SyncHR is the only solution to have true position control. As a large, dynamic 1,200+ employee organization, we track actual headcount and budgeted payroll expense versus actual labor dollars. SyncHR doesn’t lose track of the position and the dollars associated with it when someone terminates or moves to a different position – and you can view organization charts in the past, present or future. 2) Core system architecture – The HR, benefits and payroll core provides a level of automation we’ve never had before, which means our data is always accurate and up-to-date. 3) Employee Interface: SyncHR makes it easy for employees to see all their information in one place. Via self-service, employees are able to make changes to their personal data, payroll withholdings and direct deposit and can easily initiate life-change events for benefits. 4) Connecting to other systems: SyncHR bundles a world-class integration architecture with their solution which allows us to easily integrate our people data with other systems outside of the core. We've been successful at integrating SyncHR with our performance management, learning management and applicant tracking systems. 5) Commitment to our success: It’s extremely refreshing to work with a vendor who seems to truly care about our success. SyncHR isn’t perfect, but who is? Still, they seem to genuinely care about our business. We’re not just a number or help-desk-ticket to them. This matters a lot.

What do you dislike?

SyncHR is different, especially if you’re more familiar using one of the mainstream HCM products. Some of my team members who prefer to do things the way they’ve also done them have struggled a bit with a different way of doing things. It’s actually easier and makes more sense once you take the time to learn it, but again, it’s different. Using the system as designed is very powerful as it significantly automates and streamlines processes and drives much greater data accuracy.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

SyncHR is the only HCM to have true position control. This allows us to accurately report on budgeted headcount and expense, versus actual. It's open architecture has allowed us to integrate our performance management, learning management and applicant tracking systems into it. The reports engine is powerful and easy to use.

"SyncHR is new but is making good strides in the right direction! "

What do you like best?

I think the best part of SyncHR is the support team. While they are a newer company, they are quick to get back to you with any questions about the program, whether it be reporting, core HR things like payroll and benefits, or questions regarding the system in general. The system looks pretty good but is not super intuitive.

What do you dislike?

Being a newer program it is tough to implement bigger system features in a timely manner. While the support team is quick to get back to you, they don't always have accurate changes they can implement. The system is not very intuitive but is functional.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you switch to SyncHR, realize that it is a newer company with lots of growing in the future. They keep making great improvements and are quick to get back to you. It's a great program!

We moved over to SyncHR from UltiPro and despite some hiccups moving over, we like the system. Improvements are being made all the time and it helps us do a lot of things easily like I-9, taxes, payroll, etc.

"HR Ops Simplified with Payroll, Benefits Admin & HRIS all in one solution"

What do you like best?

The platform, as a whole, is simple to use from both an administrator standpoint and an employee self-service standpoint. I specifically like the ease of use for employee onboarding. We've received unsolicited feedback from new hires about how easy it was to enter all of their information/benefit elections. I can't recall ever getting unsolicited POSITIVE feedback on an HRIS platform in my career, so this is an HR win! I also use the Org Chart almost on a daily basis.

What do you dislike?

I think there is room for improvement on their benefits comparison tool. We have a fairly comprehensive benefit offering, which includes an HDHP & HSA (with a tiered employer contribution), so I would have liked to have been able to show employees a better true cost comparison at the point of benefit election. I don't think anyone out there (in the HRIS world) has this type of functionality though, and SyncHR has been receptive to enhancing their benefit comparison tool to include this type of data in the future.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Any HRIS conversion/implementation is a major undertaking. Be sure to have the appropriate in-house resources, even if you're planning on using a 3rd party to run your implementation.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our main objective was to bring our HR function in-house. After an RFP with 4 other vendors, SyncHR was the solution that best fit our needs. We prioritized an all-in-one solution, cost, interface/ease of use and customization capability in our selection process. We successfully brought our data in house, with a system that can successfully be managed by one primary administrator (for a workforce of 330 employees).

"Awesome Job"

What do you like best?

They have a great support team along with a great program. It makes it nicer knowing there is support when needed.

What do you dislike?

The support team is great but due to it being a newer company there isn’t always a solution to a problem.

It makes doing HR related things much easier and the system overall is good.

"Not very intuitive "

finding items, the help text is good, but, the site is not intuitive.

"Over promised, Under delivered "

What do you like best?

Easy of access to information is great. The look and feel of the tool is good.

What do you dislike?

Can't integrate with other tools as promised by the sales reps, a lot of problems implementing, loss of information, complete disaster!

Run! This company doesn't deliver on what they promise.

"Needs a few improvements "

What do you like best?

Running reports and allowing me to upload documents and photos.

Finding children belonging to employees.
