Tableau has become a valuable tool for managing our district's accountability. We have several issue in the past being able to get this information to our district staff who is needing this information to make important budgetary and staffing decisions. We also use this data to show our areas of need among our students -- what are our district's strengths and weaknesses and how can we improve for next year. These are the important questions that we are constantly asking ourselves in order to get better.
Tableau's interface could use some updating to make it more user-friendly. It just feels dated. Our district transferred most of utilities to Google, who are the kings of making software more inviting and user-friendly. It seems very similar to the old Sharepoint system that every business used to use before several companies came along to create a better solutions.
I would strongly recommend Tableau Server as it has been a huge benefit to our district. It is easy to use and navigate through the portals in order to pull the needed data. We have tried several programs in the past and have been very happy with the results of Tableau Server. We mainly utilize the dashboard feature which is beneficial for quickly running reports and keeping our information up to date.
Tableau dashboards have made it easier to keep our district staff updated on important accountability numbers and we are currently working towards using expanding its footprint in our district through budgetary reports.
