Easy and Succesful Native Platform

What do you like best?

I normally use taboola to analyze data and check how our campaigns are performing. As a Marketing Analyst I don't usually upload campaigns myself but Taboola has a really nice interface to check data quick and easy.

What do you dislike?

It is still a very simple website, to sign in the first time your rep needs to register you in, at least that's how it was in my case, and it took a while. Also, even that their simplicity does helps at time you wish you could have more data to analyze.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It will do probably every you want this platform to do.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Taboola offers certain ways to extract data that have been quite beneficial for my reporting. For example, and this is something you can do in many other advertising sites, you can export the image URL which works to extract the image while using a Google Sheet report.

Native Platform with a great future

What do you like best?

Even though the dashboard is lacking functionality, the publishers working together with Taboola and algorythm is at the top of the market.

Retargeting works also great - and you can create campaigns on 3rd party cookies (deciding on whether to target interests, or vocation or something else)

What do you dislike?

Ad creation is really painful

Reporting is tedious

Customer service is lacking (altough you can do most yourself with the self service tool - so does not really matter)

Recommendations to others considering the product

Definetly try out the retargeting and create campaigns distinguished by device as CPCs between vary a lot between mobile, tablet & desktop

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Scaling lead gen business - getting more newslette signups -

What Content Marketing solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

One of the top two content distribution networks

What do you like best?

- Scale of distribution. Some huge properties in the network (partic. Daily Mail group) and a large hinterland of regional and local news sites

- Some high quality placements available such as Bloomberg, BusinessInsider, Huffington Post, CityAM, ThisIsMoney and about a dozen others

- Best for video – originally built for it and still leads the pack

- Well-designed management and reporting interface

- Content gets up and running quickly

- Technically excellent and rapid innovation

- Great people and they take good care of advertisers

What do you dislike?

Has a higher tolerance for spammy content than its larger more established competitors – both in terms of content it allows to run, and placements where its widgets appear. (That said, some of the newer networks appear much worse in this regard, so it's all relative). Fortunately they report thoroughly on all placements and provide tools to exclude the ones that deliver low CTR or poorer traffic. There are some excellent placements on Taboola, you just have to be relentless if you want to exclude the poor ones.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Be ready for high traffic if your headlines are clickable and your budget is high enough. Be prepared to spend time filtering placements until you get the quality of traffic you're after. Make sure each headline/image combination uses unique tracking parameters so you can discover the sweetspot between what's clickable and what's valuable traffic for you. Finally do stay in touch with the Taboola account managers and support people (they're good in my view) and give feedback (they listen).

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Getting distribution for video content; audience insight from seeing who watches what and how engaged they are; quickly testing different image and headline combinations.

Taboola - A Complete Waste of Money and Time

What do you like best?

Nothing. It does nothing. It is completely useless and overpriced.

What do you dislike?

Everything. The platform itself is slow as a snail. Also, If you like getting lots of fake leads from Africa and India - try it. It is amazingly expensive, does nothing, and watch out - if you fill out a wrong box, or click 'accelerated' - even with a monthly spending limit of $250, it'll hit you up for $100 a day. Complete and utter waste of money - the leads are fake - and no refunds are available when they over-charge you to criminal proportions. USING THIS PLATFORM IS HIGHLY DISCOURAGED. The biggest mistake I've made in business in 5 years.

Recommendations to others considering the product

NEVER USE IT.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It did nothing. Used for 6 weeks with a highly successful funnel, and it brought nothing but fake leads and dead ends from the middle east and africa.

Taboola Review

What do you like best?

The unique ad solution for publishers and the performance for DR advertisers.

What do you dislike?

Being over billed on our first campaign that we did not manage. The first one had to be managed by Taboola's internal team.

On the publisher end, they wanted us to sign a year long agreement in the beginning.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We can run and manage our clients campaigns on a CPC basis.

As a publisher, their solution adds additional and incremental revenue.

customer service not good - luckily mostly not needed - nice new features

What do you like best?

the new audience segments are something really nice and good. Possible to play around with them a lot

What do you dislike?

content creation - try A/B testing 5 creatives and 5 ad copies and handle a lot of uploading errors... you will waste a lot of time with that. They really need to implement the cross testing feature

Recommendations to others considering the product

do not rely solely on taboola - use other providers as well

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

scaling lead gen & app installs
