Using Tick to Manage project time

What do you like best?

Easy to use and set up projects, I like that you can import projects from Basecamp. You are also able to import template projects, which means for a little set up time you can save time setting up future projects. You can allocate itemized number of hours for projects, and run various reports to track.

What do you dislike?

Good for tracking hours... not much else. Would be nice to have this integrated with a project manager, calendar and other features... However, the system does allow for importing data from Basecamp or from a templates project.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Set up a templates for easy to import reusealble projects

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Able to track the number of hours spent on projects. Higher productivity when employees are responsible for logging hours.

Being able to export reports as a spreadsheet make it easy to run Pivot reports for weekly, monthly, or period end numbers.

Time Tracking at it's Best

What do you like best?

My team uses Tick to budget each project. We have established a sample project with our typical project tasks and estimated budget allowance. Depending on the project, we are able to make adjustments to the budget, either more or less. Individuals are able to choose how they log their time, either manually or through a timer app.

What do you dislike?

The new visual setup for each project makes is harder to read the Budget Time and Actual Time (they are side-by-side and formatted the same). Sometimes it is easy to confuse the two.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Tick has made budgeting our time easier. We are aware of the estimated time needed to complete certain projects, large and small. This in turn allows to devote more time to larger projects, if needed.

What Time Tracking solution do you use?

Fast and User-Friendly Time Tracking Software

What do you like best?

With so many time tracking platforms on the market that try to do too much, it's nice to see something that focuses on one thing (project time tracking and resourcing) and does it extremely well. The user interface is extremely friendly and easy to use, and entering new projects and time sheets is a breeze. One of the best time tracking systems I've ever used (and I've used a lot).

What do you dislike?

Reporting isn't quite as robust as it could be (which might be a slight annoyance to HR and accountant types). But that' a minor issue.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you're looking for effective and easy-to-use time tracking software, Tick is the way to go.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Project management and time entry. It's allowed multiple team members to enter their time and for project managers to effectively monitor progress and resource tasks.

We are a production company who works with full time staff and contractors to accomplish high level client needs in the marketing industry.

Efficient tool to track time easily

What do you like best?

Multiple ways to track time easily - through web portal (great for tracking in bulk), chrome extension (great for tracking as you work) or on my phone (great for catching up on tracking while you’re on the go).

What do you dislike?

Nothing comes to mind. Perhaps a way to tie in financials to the time worked to see profitability, but there’s completely separate platforms that handle that.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

-The actual hours were working for clients compared to projected hours

-How many hours employees are working (too few, too many)

-Allows is to more closely measure profitability which isn’t always easy in client services
