What do you like best?

The quality of the render . His simplicity .

The creation of custom material and the integration with Substance.

I like the recent baking tools . They are very powerfull and easy to use.

The animate tool is a little bit complicated.

The management of cams is not very easy and the options output for render are poor .

Recommendations to others considering the product

It's not a necessary tool , but he can give you some help for presentation , render , or an alternative to classic baking tools.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Marmoset allows me to create good presentation for my differents assets . It's a time-saver for me.

"The best realtime renderer in the market."

What do you like best?

What I like the most about toolbag is how fast you get results with little effort. You can display models and setup lights with ease so you can see the render as you move things around.

If you have animation attached to your model you can play it as well.

The price is quite accessible and it's being updated constantly with new features.

What do you dislike?

It needs a way to save the camera position so you can switch between shots (might be implemented soon).

Since its a GPU renderer it requires a very good graphic card with at least 2gb memory.

Recommendations to others considering the product

This is quite the best GPU render engine I have worked with. It's very easy to use and renders really fast, I highly recommend it specially to freelance artists.

You would benefit of its power by using a graphic card with more than 2gb memory.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I use Vray but it's too time consuming mostly finding the right configuration to have good looking renders. With Toolbag I can focus on the look of the shot instead of doing endless preview renders trying to find the best render setting, also Toolbag renders very quickly in seconds instead of hours, I plan to switch to Toolbag soon.

Of course the renders are not physically accurate like you would expect from render engines like Vray, but you can get beautiful renders with very little effort with Toolbag so you can spend more time creating your assets and scenes instead of figuring render settings.

"Rendering is Easy"

What do you like best?

Marmoset is a beautiful, industry standard renderer! More than that, it has the most intuitive UI i've seen in a 3d program to date. I started using it in 1 day without any tutorials, and it gave me lovely results. I would definitely recommend it!

What do you dislike?

I had a big problem rendering transparencies in this program. My hair cards looked really bad, along with some transparent clothing I was trying to make... Other renderers seem to do better with transparencies.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Just try it! Download the trial and you'll realize it's an amazing piece of software

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I love how quick and easy it is to pop a model into Marmoset and have a beautiful render you can look at in real-time. WIth Blender or Maya, you have to wait for the model to render, and then you're left with a flat, 2-dimensional version of the model, which doesn't give you a firm grasp of the model's true form. Marmoset solves all of those problems quickly and efficiently!

"Fantastic piece of kit that can really help showcase 3D models "

What do you like best?

Its ability to produce high rez images and show reels of 3D created models. It has a great range of pre-lit areas with a range of backgrounds that really make models pop out as well as offering plain backgrounds for clay renders. You also have the option of adding in your own lights and skybox and saving them as pre-sets allowing for multiple shots of the same scene to be produced quickly and professionally. You can also import textures with your models so your'e not limited to just seeing the mesh.

What do you dislike?

Its interface is not the most user friendly or easily accessible, leaving you to either take your time learning it or sourcing tutorials. It could also benefit from a better way of creating turntable videos. As on first launch there is no kind of welcome tutorial or a basic guide on how to use each feature or what each feature does. Some of the menus are very small and hidden away in smaller windows in different sides of teh program too wich can be confusing.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I would recommend looking up some tutorials and watch some some videos on how best to use it before jumping in. Spending the time to learn this software will vastly improve not only your experience but also your work produced.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Being able to set up 3D renders in a more professional and easier space makes the final images not only quicker to produce but appear far more professional.

"Toolbag is Fantastic"

What do you like best?

Great and easy application for game art visualization. It allows for the importing of models, application of textures and lighting for presentation. I enjoy its integration of PBR, but currently each engine processes PBR differently so it is a little tricky when texturing from that aspect. Marmoset 3 also now supports animation again and has a more robust lighting engine. As well allows you to export your scene to upload to view on other sites.

What do you dislike?

Some times the application doesn't auto reload texture or model information. And the new lighting engine is a bit wonky sometimes, but i feel that might be due to the scale of models etc. The application price is a bit on the higher side, but catching it during a sell is well worth it.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Its a great program overall around if you can afford it.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Marmoset Toolbag allows for easy and quick visualization instead of creating a scene with a complex environment and lighting just to test how the object looks. It is easy to change lighting conditions and other variables easier in Marmoset Toolbag.

"Toolbag for portfolio "

What do you like best?

I love how easy it is to get models and textures into tool bag for rendering. I use this all the time to show my team how i would like something to look in a game or app.

What do you dislike?

as awesome as this program is for stand alone models its not that helpful if you want to render an environment. it's possible but it takes a lot of work. You would be better off just using UDK or something like that for better results.

Recommendations to others considering the product

definitely try the trail first

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

look and feel of art before importing it into a build

"A small and convenient program for quick 3D model displaying in real time."

What do you like best?

Marmoset easily and simply displays models, textures, materials and animations. It has user-friendly interface.

What do you dislike?

It doesn't support UDIMs so I have to setup materials for every UDIM tile(placing UV to 0-1 uv space).

Recommendations to others considering the product

There are a lot of useful lessons for this program. This will facilitate and simplify the work, make it more efficient.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The program is light-weight and the system requirements are not too demanding. I can adjust materials "on the fly".

"Well is the Marmoset Toolbag"

What do you like best?

From the material creation to realtime the viewport is just amazing, the dota 2 material creation is amazing, you can preview your sets before upload anything to the dota 2 tools is great.

What do you dislike?

everything is great in this software, maybe something like a goz for marmoset from Maya LT would be great

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The realtime render is always something that i love, is no time consuming and you can modify anything on the fly

What do you dislike?

You would have to throw in some lights and tweak it a little for the best lighting effect.
