"Excelent software to manage Github issues"

What do you like best?

I like how you can see the status of a Github project in a single screen. Also, it's easy to manage issue and move them between columns to change issue's status.

There's no additional configuration to do, just give permissions and the application work. Also, I can create or manage issues from a pretty interface instead the one from Github.

What do you dislike?

That only works with Github, it would be great if it could work with any control version system and any repository hosting service.

On old computers the interface could be "heavy".

Recommendations to others considering the product

It's really easy to use, you don't need to install any aditional software.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I'm solving the problem of don't knowing the current status of a project inside a Github repository. Also, github issues are limited and this apps let me add more stuff and attach them to tags/status to know what's the internal workflow status of the project.

"A better Trello"

What do you like best?

I liked the visualization of the work needing to be done, but at the time it was a basic Trello board with an integration to GitHub. Nothing crazy in the way of changing the way the team was doing work.

What do you dislike?

The lack of flexibility in views. It is just a Kanban board with GitHub, nothing too advanced. There wasn't too many options in terms of reporting at the time I used waffle.io

Recommendations to others considering the product

It is worth the free trial to see what it is about, but there are a lot of applications out there that do the same today.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We were trying to give transparency to our QA group on what was ready to test and have a tool that helped facilitate discussions with Dev and QA on strategy and next steps.

Thanks for letting us know!

"Cool Interface and Integration"

What do you like best?

The best thing about Waffle is that it connects labels and issues easily with Github. That integration makes it really easy to track issues and the code that goes into resolving those issues.

What do you dislike?

No issue tracking software is perfect for everyone, and I suppose having data in more than one place (Github AND the Waffle board) can make things a bit messy. But the information CAN be found, and that's helpful.

Recommendations to others considering the product

No product is perfect, but this one does just fine and integrates with Github. People seem to like it better than Jira, but again, no one seems to like these tools. :-)

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It helps us keep track of what we're working on, who's working on it, and how long we expect it to take. It's helpful that it moves issues along the tracking system when various labels are removed and/or applied.

"Easy to visualize development"

What do you like best?

The integration with Github is a big thing for us to use Waffle. We have completely tie our Github workflow with waffle, so when engineers open a PR, the issue will automatically remove from one stage to another.

It provides the free version!

What do you dislike?

It's lack of visual cue to differentiate issues, like whether an epic, feature, bug etc.

Also, it's kind of a steep price step to unlock the only two metrics. It doesn't worth it for small startup

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use waffle to visualize and manage issues in github. Waffle has given us a better picture of the development worflow, also makes life lots easier with the github integration

"Great for bringing Kanban to Github "

What do you like best?

Coming up with a workflow that fits our engineering style and prioritizing issues quickly based on the labels/time decay of the issue.

What do you dislike?

No intuitive way to create issues from the Kanban. The 'note' feature can be a little confusing.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It's not a substitute for a dedicated project management suite. It's pretty lightweight, so it's good for smaller teams, but as you grow, it might not be the best choice.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Prioritization and keeping track of engineering issues.

"Easily track issues while linking to Github"

What do you like best?

I like that it's immediately integrated with Jira. So I can keep track of everything like Trello does, but can easily access Github issues and PR's from the waffleboard

What do you dislike?

I wish that there was a way to integrate PR's created into one of the waffleboard lanes

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you plan on keeping the majority of your issue and bug tracking in waffle, you'll need to be very familiar with using github.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We're getting away from Jira and all the mess that that can cause with tracking issues and current features. Waffle makes it easy to access issues and we simply just link the PR in the issue so that we can access the very PR that's intended to resolve the issue

"A great product idea, but the integration with github can be spotty"

What do you like best?

Waffle's integration with github's project management tools (e.g. issues) is definitely what I like best. I love github's issue documentation, and the ability to link to/close out issues through pull requests and commit messages. It makes it very easy to create a living documentation for your app. However, when you want to do project management, especially Agile, using github issues, github's GUI is anything but ideal. By integrating with github, waffle's GUI really improves upon githubs.

What do you dislike?

I have always felt that the integration with github, while quite good, was somewhat spotty. Someone would move something on a waffle board and the issue tags wouldn't get updated in github, or vice versa. This often left members of the software team frustrated, because we were never quite sure what system to trust. I also disliked the lack of ability to calculate team velocity based on difficulty points assigned to issues.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Consider keeping Github for your documentation, but using Pivotal Tracker for project management. There's some duplication of effort, but it might be worth it if Waffle's connection frustrates you.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The big business problem this helped us solve was how to plan and estimate the end date of software development projects. Waffle helped us to stay organized and be a little better about our projections.

"Turn any Github repo into a project management board!"

What do you like best?

Every time I show Waffle to someone, they have a bit of an "a-ha" moment about it. It basically pulls out all your issues and PRs from a Github repo and organises them in a more visual way, but this is a big help for lots of people to better organise their work, particularly when there are lots of issues. The ability to use multiple repos too, is a real boon.

What do you dislike?

The built-in commenting feature could be a bit more elegant. As it is now it feels a bit clunky and I have to click through to Github to have or read a conversation.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Go for it! It's free, it's easy to use, and you can view your repo using whichever interface (Waffle or Github) you like best, so it's totally low-friction.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We're using Github as a standalone, lightweight project management system. Waffle has been pretty instrumental in making that happen. It's great for visual thinkers, traditional project managers, and clients!

"Melhor Dashboard para projetos com o GitHub ever!"

What do you like best?

Integrado nativamente com o Github, UI simples, curva de aprendizagem de uso fácil.

What do you dislike?

A falta de multi-idioma Ă© um problema para equipes que nĂŁo estĂŁo comodas com softwares em ingles.

Recommendations to others considering the product

como tinha informado anteriormente, para que Waffle.io tenha um melhor ganho de clientes, acredito que eles devem ter a plataforma em multiplos idiomas.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Antes usavamos varias ferramentas para ter ordenado nossos projetos, porém agora temos tudo em um unico lugar e facil, e sem precisar de deixar de usar o github.

Keeping our projects organized and on schedule

"Great tool to run agile sprints for github projects"

What do you like best?

Waffle.io lets you reference a single source of truth, github issues with a clean and easy to use interface.

What do you dislike?

Not much to dislike, load times can be a bit faster as we have 100+ issues. We often use Milestones to filter the view. It would be nice to generate reports and stats on burn down velocity.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We need a way of visualizing a large number of tasks for a geo distributed team for planning and review. This allows us to move items from backlog to InSprint to active to done.

"Convenient tool for managing a code review pipeline"

What do you like best?

I like that it's really easy and visual to see the pull requests you have open and drag them between stages.

What do you dislike?

It sometimes gets into a weird state where closed pull requests are still showing up until you refresh a few times.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We're organizing a pipeline for projects and code review so we know the status of projects and can easily find what to review.

What do you like best?

I love the visual aspects of this program and how user friendly it has been for me and my team.

What do you dislike?

It needs some work done with the bug issues it's been having lately.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The software helps us visualize our projects with simplicity.
