Xactly can update daily and give our reps instant access to their updated sales and commissions every day. The user interface is clean and easy to use for both admins and representatives. The contast upgrades implemented through out the year keep Xactly on the top of the game and addressing additional needs and requirements. Requires little day to day management once the plans and formulas are set up. Xactly has even been able to meet some of our tough challenges in our plan adminstration with no issues. Their whole support team from launch to continuing support is responsive.
Analytics seems heavy and over burndened when using too many different field types. Requires dedicated time to manage and build reporting on the fly.
Definitely give Xactly a shot. They have been able to meet our most challenging needs with a quick turn around. Any further support tickets are answered very quickly and addressed. Reps respond to the product due to the fast update and easy of use. It gives them control of their full business from sale to commission.
Almost real time updates for our field to help solve problems or issues with calculations or crediting. Disputes and inquires have dropped dramatically and we can resolve in a more timely fashion.
Easy to work with, very dependable and very accurate. We have changed plans every years and I have gone through 5 different plan years each different from the last. I have never run into any road blocks with Xactly. If you can do the math and get the data Xactly can handle it.
We currently feed data into Xactly for two different sources and have about 10 different plans in a given year. Xactly has handled this with ease.
At one time reports were difficult to build and update as the plans changed. However many new changes to the product have made building reports with Analytics much easier.
Make sure you have the correct support contract to fit your business needs. Xactly offers different levels of support and you may run into some issue if you are on the lower tiers
Set up can be long, but worth the time and effort.
Always looking for way to accurately pay and motivate our sales staff. Xactly has been a great tool in allowing easy access to quota, quota attainment, revenue and other information for the sales staff.
Xactly allows our sales staff to easily see their goals, attainment and sales details. The sales team no longer spends hours with tracking their sales in spreadsheets. This has allowed them more time to create new sales.
Incent streamlines the monthly compensation process. It does the heavy lifting for you and all you need to do is verify it is calculating correctly. It allows you to create new plans and test them to pay your Sales department however you would like.
I think that Incent could be more user friendly. In order to set up a plan or make a change there are many items that need to be changed. If one of those items is not correct the whole plan wouldn't work. In order to get assistance you have to contact their Support team which is slow to reply. The Support team also has zero knowledge of your Incent setup so their solutions aren't quick or helpful many times.
This product is good for streamlining your monthly sales compensation process. However, it has a high learning curve and the classes to learn how to use this product are very intrusive of your time. Most classes last 4 hours on back to back days, hard to carve out time for that. I have yet to see a recorded webinar that I could watch on my own time. This would be a nice addition.
Giving our Sales team access to their sales numbers with a daily update. They can see the detail behind those sales and what they will get paid. This provides visibility for the Sales team that they enjoy. Reports can also be created to give the Sales team quick detail behind their numbers.
We were formerly on Xactly Incent Express and some of our main reasons for switching included the ability to do prior period adjustments, ease of setting up draws and versioning of people records. All of these (plus many more features) were met, which we are really happy about and compensation management has been much better since going live this year! We have now closed our first year on Incent, and the visibility our users have into their performance for this year vs. prior years is truly something else.
Express was more flexible in some respects, like additional quota/commission adjustments, which are not as easy to do in Incent....as such, we have some fringe scenarios which we are not able to accommodate, which is a tough sell to Sales Management (who is used to being pretty lenient in terms of granting additional quota retirement and extra commission payouts). Also, we generally understand why the system is architectured the way it is, but sometimes it takes way too many clicks and different screens/components to get something done!
Generally recommended - our implementation took a very long time, but the end product was well worth the work and should suit us for many years to come. There are not too many other established players in the market, so Xactly Incent Enterprise was kind of the default, but it is a very good, powerful and flexible product that can support large and growing organizations as they scale into the future.
Scales much better than Xactly Incent Express, as we now have about 150 users in Xactly Incent Enterprise. Express was becoming very difficult to manage and building out our plans and roles in Enterprise is a much more scaleable option and should be very useful for our organization as we grow into the future. Additionally, for FY18, we will also be purchasing Objectives and managing certain plans in there.
Xactly is a user friendly tool that really helps manage processing and reporting commissions. Incent is only one aspect of this tool, which is the key part. You can easily manage indivudial team member data, quotas, TI and revenue individually or in a batch. The processing time is overall pretty fast compared to other applications out there. The UI is great and constantly changing to accomodate additional needs, requirements and enhancements; although those changes are not so drastic and often benefitial and enables the user to be more efficient.
The only thing I dislike is when having to make drastic mid-year plan changes, where rules and formulas also need to change. This can sometimes become a little frustrating, but Xactly support is always available and quick to lend a helping hand.
Xactly is a great tool and beneficial to both the admins and end users (sales reps & managers). Implementation can be lenghty, but is well worth it. If ever you run into a problem, they have an incredible support team that is always more than willing to help make iit right or help you understand what's needed to fix the issue.
Using Incent frees up a lot of extra time to handle other responsibilites.
I like how easy is everything, from making changes to navigating menus, it all looks great and seems to be a tool I want to use all the time
I have to use different browsers to open multiple information on different tabs, see here we have to compare some information within years and it´s really not intuitive to have to use a different browser to do that
I really think you should use Xactly if you value your time and don't want to spend hours configuring everything manually, also if you often take data from year to year or month to month is also great for copy and paste
We are currently using Xactly to process our commissions, I came from a different company that was using an in-house comp tool and I can say one of the biggest benefits is having a community of experts to help me out rather than just a manual that someone wrote ages ago (Also Xactly looks way better!)
I like the visibility that it gives into our comp plans for our reps. We came from a comp model where we only published commission statements once per period. Now the reps can view it every day, it has greatly assisted with visibility and trust that we are paying them properly.
I dislike that the app isn't more customize-able to the way we sell. I wish we had the ability to change the wording on some items that can be confusing to our reps like "credits" for us should be "sales".
Attend the in-person training, it really helps understand the process and implement immediately after UAT testing- do not wait.
Visibility into our payment plans. Once we get fully implemented I believe we will have less questions for our comp admin as well as more trust our plans.
I like that all our sales comp data is organized in one place. We're not looking high and low for archived commission data, we're able to go in and pull out the information we need, and we're not sending around hundreds of Excel files with confidential data. We press "go" (or, more accurately, "calculate through incentives") and it's done! We don't have to send anything to the sales reps, we don't have to worry about organizing files... it's 'over!
I used Xactly at a former company too that had over 450 complicated commission plans for 500 roles. The software did NOT work for that company-- but that was more a problem with our over-complicated commission structure than Xactly's functionality.
If you choose to use it, make sure to attend the in-person admin training at their San Jose HQ. It is invaluable. Also, get the package for training that allows unlimited e-Learning in the first year of subscription. Trust me... you will NOT regret it.
The ability to determine exactly what commission was paid on each sale is extremely valuable to us, especially with the upcoming rev rec standard changes. Also, we kept sending out the wrong Excel files to the wrong people and having general data inconsistency issues across files. Xactly fixed all that.
Xactly is a reliable source of information for sales reps as well as for reporting of results.

The timing of analytics reports is a disadvantage. Sometimes you need to pull information immediately and the report is not ready. Analytics is a little cumbersome and not very intuitive to use. A little more flexibility could be added for customization of PODS and reports.
Forecasting of commissions for accruals is difficult and modeling product is difficult to use
Correct support is needed to fit your business needs. Xactly offers different levels of support and you may run into some issue if you are on the lowest tier. The support staff is normally very knowledgeable, however we have had issues where support is across the world and in totally different time zones making it difficult to resolve issues. Sometimes find it difficult, especially the Delta support (response time is very lagging)
Try and be as involved as possible when going trhough implementation and plan design. If you don't know how the consultant has written your plan rules, it may take some time to get up to speed and troubleshoot issues.
Easy to report expense and results to Executives.
Much less questions from sales reps. Visibility into commissions earned and cost of sales.
Sales reps now can see what their commissions are and when they've been paid. It's great. Another problem we are solving is faster more efficient reporting for sales management, and also providing sales leadership with better dashboards and sales team performance. This is helping us narrow down on how and what we need to do to improve our sales teams performance.
The statements show an easy to understand/customizable view of orders, credits, and commissions. It reduces the amount of effort sales reps need to put in to understanding their payments. The automation that was implemented to connect to SFDC saves us a lot of time and frustration in having to validate and upload order details. The flexibility of the tool helped us change our plans in a way that we couldn't have easily done in Excel.
There are some areas where the tool's UI and design are not consistent. In one area, it looks one way, but in another area, it looks different, requiring you to pay attention to what you are doing so that you don't make a mistake or get confused. Some functionality requires work arounds to work the way we want it to. Luckily, it can handle what we need, but it takes more work to get the work around built. The Professional Services team is not the easiest to work with. I prefer to build my own rules/settings. I only need to use them to make changes to our DELTA automation system.
If you are deciding to go between Incent Express and Incent Enterprise, Skip Express. Don't waste your time on it.
If you are deciding whether to upgrade from Express to Enterprise, definitely go for it.
Learn as much as you can through webinars and Xactly training. There is a lot to the software that you need to experience to know its full capabilities. Network with other administrators as well and learn best practices. It will make setting up and using the software a lot less frustrating.
Also - don't assume that the initial implementation will be perfect based on your needs. The person setting up your tool may not fully understand what you are looking for and you may want to change things down the road as you learn more about the tool.
Incent has allowed me to process commissions on my own until we reached about 250 sales reps (~20 plan variations). I would not have been able to do the amount of work that I do by myself without a tool that automated a large part of the processes. I only recently hired someone to work with me and feel we could handle hundreds more between the two of us. I would not be as comfortable saying that otherwise. Xactly gave us a platform that allowed our audits to go a lot more smoothly. There was less searching for various documents, and more up front answers which allowed us to spend less time working with auditors and more time processing commissions. Sales reps spend less time figuring out their commissions and more time selling.
The ability to see the data real time in Salesforce is the best feature for the management and sales team. Users get to estimate what their commission is for each opportunity based on the Amount of the record. It is a great motivator for the team to keep pushing and selling.
The dashboards/reports are also great and is frequently used. They get an overview of exactly what they will be paid at the end of each quarter and also were they are against their pipeline.
Currently no complaints, the sales team loves the tool so far expecially getting insight to their commissions real time as they close opportunities.
The biggest problem we were trying to solve and was the biggest benefit was getting away from spreadsheets! Saves so much time, effort and less prone to errors! Also, all compensation plans are sent through Xactly which is great for the team versus having them dig around for an attachment in an email.
I really like all the various functionality in Incent. The ease of the system allows the comp admin to build plans and reports quite easily and doesn't require computer programming skills. The system also has a lot of flexibility built in so you can tailor plans, reports, labeling, etc to be customized to your company's needs.
Currently when running analytic reports the information is updated every two hours. I would prefer for the system to update hourly.
Xactly is truly a partner and is looking to be the best in Sales Comp space. They truly want to see the companies they work with to be successful. They definitely take the time to understand the companies they are working with to ensure their success. They definitely care for their customers and it comes through in every area of the company: implementation, training, support, etc.
Since switching to Incent we went from 6-8 weeks of processing time to pay out our sales teams to 2 weeks. Also our error rate has decreased to about 1% so the efficiency and accuracy have greatly approved.
Using Xactly has allowed for the sales team to have full transparency into their commissions. They are now able to have a proactive approach to addressing any commission questions.
As of now, there are no dislikes. The reporting and analytics is always being enhanced.
To ensure you get the most out of your investment, take the time and energy to work through the use cases and lay out the plan ahead of time around sales compensation. Also plan out training for the end users and build out reporting for the sales team. This helps the sales team transition to the product.
Commissions took a significant amount of manual time and effort to calculate and was error prone. We were able to see efficiencies and accuracy with moving way from the manual process.
The ability to not have to calculate commissions for 400 sales persons commissions manually on Excel Spreadsheets. Upload their bookings/goals and the calculation is done for you and the Sales reps can view in their own Incent. Reporting can be done within minutes instead of days.
What I dislike sometimes is training new commissions analysts on how to check for errors in formulas and rules. I think for anyone who wants to learn how to create plans, the system is very user friendly. But for anyone who is not interested in that piece of comp and only interested in the administrative side of compensation, the back-end of rules/formulas/rate tables can be a bit confusing.
Make sure you have MAJORITY of your plans finalizied. Think outside the box, think of what your plans may change to in a couple months and make sure to talk about those so that the implementation team can help support future plan edits.

Xactly Incent gives you great flexibility to create plans that fit your company’s needs. Our plans are fairly complex and the first year we definitely had a sharp learning curve while getting up and running but now we have a great understanding of the system and can leverage it's flexibility to our advantage. Mid-sized companies or companies with more simple plans will love it. Their IT support is amazing. They have quick turn around times on support tickets and inquires. Everyone I have worked with was very knowledgeable on the system, If they did not know the answer I wasn't just passed around I was introduced to the person that would be handling my case. The annual conference is a great information and training event.
Due to our complex plans the standard training left us fumbling in the dark on some things. Trial and error is a painful process. Analytics needs an expert admin to be able to truly leverage it.
Review your current plans and any future changes and bring them to the table while considering this tool. It is a great tool you just need to get a good start. After that the sailing will be smooth with great support to follow.
Xactly allows us to add new plans very quickly without having IT support. So we can create, test, and roll out plans in days instead of months with an install product.
Incent is very user friendly, the interface is easy to navigate and the system is intended for you to be able to manage and process your own compensation plans. Once data is processed by the system, it is easy to locate order data and view detail-level reports.
For those companies who are unable to use the standard payroll exports due to formatting, the analytics tool acts as an acceptable replacement. However, analytics is subject to the refresh schedule which can delay timelines. Some complex calculations and data processing may need DELTA management, which is then subject to additional costs.
Spend a significant amount of time reviewing and updating business operations to ensure streamlined processing is not burdened by "special requests" or individualized circumstances. The more efficient your business processes are, the better Xactly will suit your needs.
Resolved time-consuming excel processing and reliance on crystal reports which took-up IT resources. Program is solely managed by the compensation team with 10% assistance from IT for imported data for processing and exported data for reporting.
I've been using Xactly for about 3 years now and I love the dashboard and benchmark goals. System integration with our proprietary software helps aggregate the data into a simple and efficient platform. Regardless of how many commission plans/structures relevant to your role, Xactly breaks down this information by role/responsibility and enables users to get incredibly granular with their benchmark goals and figures.
The incentive estimator can sometimes be erroneous. Seems like it's an issue with the analytics that is constantly being updated. The analytics as a whole take some getting used to. On occasion, my quota goals page has difficulty loading.
Accessibility to historic data makes forecasting with Xactly indispensable. I can analyze past unit quotas and monies by month/quarter and apply to my upcoming team's budgets to accurately predict seasonal trends.
I love the versatility and capability that the application possesses which aids in turning strategic sales compensation ideas in to real-life results and possible metrics tracking. The automation allows for exceptional efficiency and is a time saving solution which makes allocating time to strategic imperatives possible in the work environment.
Some of the back end configuration and searching interfaces require additional steps than what might appear necessary. There is also no support for the 'Back' button and requires forms to be resubmitted when searching throughout the application.

Xactly provides benefits to automation and efficiency. The software allows for the user to make complex calculations and retain data for an unlimited amount of sales compensation plans. Xactly also offers a valuable Analytics add-on that allows you to report on the results produced within Incent.
In Excel, It was very difficult for us to provide the backup to our reps due to the enormous size of the reports and having to tie all those lines back to the commission amount was a chore. Incent provides a very clean list that I can rely on.
I would like to see some built in error codes. If you forget a step when adding a new person or all the pieces of your formula are not laid out right I wish Incent would give a bit of a warning. That would make tracing my steps to find the mistake much faster.
Use the in-house team for implementation
We're now able to more easily run keep track charge backs are their origination. Previously this was problem. We've now brought in all the necessary data from our systems to look at the transition in its entirety.

- Premium Support is the BEST! Always puts you up on the top of the queue and they are available for you 24/7.365, so if you need to work weekends and need Support, they are there.
- There are some system glitches from time to time (some unexplained) that sometimes resolves itself (payments will state that they are “Released” when truly it has not been)
- DELTA process errors takes a while to get resolved
- Can’t hide certain periods in the calendar
These are all small stuff though and though they can disrupt the daily flow of business (especially when up against a payroll deadline), it doesn’t negate the good that we encounter with the system.
If your system is antiquated or coming from Excel, Xactly Incent products have been stepping up throughout the years, from "look and feel" of the UI to the ease of use and navigation of the product, it has been one of the best CRM tools I have come across.
- Sales effectiveness (if we incentivise our sales teams correctly, it frees them up from shadow accounting)
- Automation (load) saves a lot of time for our comp analysts and really focus on Customer Service and other questions.
- We haven’t started using it yet, but when we actively start using Xactly Insights, it will help us benchmark against how other companies are using Xactly and administering their comp plan.
Xactly Incent is very easy to use. The employees are all great to work with. They all have a background in compensation plans and how to make them work within the Xactly Incent application. Analytics allows you to create custome reports for Senior Management. Xactly continues to enhance the environment and takes customer feedback into consideration.
Analytics takes a little bit to get used to. You have to really understand the system in order to understand the logic of how Analytics works.
Employees of Xactly are great to work with. They are very knowledgeable. The Xactly product eliminates the use of shadow accounting by sales employees. It also provides real-time views into what the employee will get paid prior to the end of the month.
With being a current consultant, my job is to assist companies in the setup of this system.
Incent is fairly easy to use for both admin to calculate commission and end user to navigate and drill down to see what commission they have earned. Especially now that they have improved it by adding PPP.
When we change at least 10 comp plans, we have to write new formulas and rules for all. Tried using Xactly Modeling to see if I can test it out first before launching it in production, but Modeling is limited for testing in relation to what I can see in Incent.
Attend Xactly's webinar and 101 classes at their location. Very helpful for beginners.
Calculating commissions for all sales reps and end users are able to drill down and see what they earned.
Xactly efficiently and accurately organizes various commissions, bonuses, and more through a detailed report that allows associates to see where they are on the path to attaining their sales quota. I loved the % to goal meter, and the clearly defined commissions categories that tell you what you're being paid for, the date of the commission, and what you're making now, end-of-quarter, and what you've already made so far (for as long as you've been earning).
The info page with the relevant data isn't the most clear and has a rather boring look to it. Also, their systems frequently go down (for maintenance, allegedly) so sometimes reporting is unavailable to associates, which can be frustrating. Also, viewing the information on mobile is not easy, and you are unable to click through to more drilled down information - you can only view what's on the landing page once you log in.
Organizing bonuses, commissions, and total sales. Great way to keep track of what your company owes as far as commissions, progress to goal, and previous month/quarter/year attainment.
Ease of using product along with the reporting capability. The training's offered by the company are very good and upto date. The company is always taking feedback from customers to improve the poriduct

I love how when you set something in Xactly it is a LOT more difficult to break the formula or quota etc. compared to using Excel. I love the reporting abilities that comes with is as well.
The only thing would say that i dislike is not being able to use the 'Enter' key as much as you think you would be able to. Not being able to use it forces you to have to leave your keyboard and use your mouse, and when you're moving quickly, it takes up a lot of time switching back and forth. Also, I would mention that I wish there were additional audit functions within incent to capture any and all changes made by that admins.
The company is growing rapidly. We needed to be able to keep up with the hiring and do it accurately. Reporting in Analytics has been monumental for us.
I enjoy the ability to be able to easily be informed of monthly comission statements automatically and be able to compare to my actual earnings statement. Xactly also makes it easy to track attainment against quota and ensure that deals are booked at correct multiplier.
Although I enjoy the main dashboard that my organization used because it was easy to understand visually, I wish that detailed drill-downs were easier to read. Sometimes months where multiple deals and product sales were completed it was hard to actually read the small text. The UI could use some improvements for ease of use such as having a run-rate/burn-down visual that would easily hlep seperate deals rather than just including them in a sterile monthly report.
Understand mappings between organizational Comp Plan and actually ease of use of this tool. Maybe it is a matter of organization, but it would be nice if Xactly reported the actual product sold and separated other pieces such as delayed bookings/Professional Service Credits.
Main dashboard and the ability to track attainment is a strong feature. The more visuals and clarity of reading a statement would be good.
Also, consider implementing this tool so that printable/historic statements are easy to look up for your salesteam.
I was able to hold myself accountable as well as my organization where it came to payment and accuracy of commission.
Xactly makes commission easy. Before it was a tedious task of joining multiple sources manually tied into Salesforce. Xacty removes that pain and funnels all factors into a tidy balance of what employees have truly earned. The transparency factor has proven to uphold retention as well, that has been very noticeable so there's no "Oz" behind the curtain so-to-speak.
No noticeable factors to mention here; the learning curve at the beginning may be the only thing that comes to mind but overall a great product and compliment to Salesforce
The largest problem was the transparency factor. If employees can't figure out how their commissions are figured then you're likely to lose many employees.
Intuitive tool, basics courses from Xactly are enough to use it.
Analytics module is very powerful but needs more time to learn it.

Xactly has a clean interface and well integrated visuals to help users view their commissions and quota status. It is easy to see which deals are brought in, how much they total, what your commission is, and so on.
There really isn't much to dislike from a user standpoint. It is straightforward and user friendly.
Try it out, get some demos, do a trial run and involve some users in the process. This works great for our company and sales team.

We have more than 27 different plans which had different set of parameters and calculations involved. Xactly helped us load in data in a specific format and does computations/calculations. Easy to navigate through the plans, revenue, commissions, rates used and bonus calculated. Great tool.
Data comparison sometimes become difficult due to different data available on different tabs. Also, there is no page save or go back option.
I definite and must have buy for any company to take care of salesforce compensation. Doing all calculations manually is neither accurate nor reliable nor is interesting.
We use it to process commissions. Also pull out data and reports for monthly, quarterly and yearly analysis by accounts, attainments by quota/commissions. Sales reps have visibility to their commissions earned not only by category but also by what rate used for a specific revenue.
I like that we are able to consolidate plans, quotas, actual data, docusigns and many more things into Xaclty and not have a multitude of files or folders to do so. It's not only convenient for us as administrators, but for SOX purposes and for our sales field it is wonderful!
Nothing at this point. I have only been here for less than a year, but one nice to have which i think is more about our data that ability is to have a calculator for our sales teams to determine what if scenarios.
SOX compliance, eliminating (not totally) shadow accounting, accurate and timely accruals and payments!
My favorite part of Xactly is that they truly care about you, the customer. They continuously release new product/features and most of them are without costs. There are some free options, but those normally come with an implementation cost. If you have an internal implementation team then you should be dandy. Our next goals are to use Xactly Connect to input Workday employee info and the export Xactly info into Workday for payment. We're also intending to tie into Salesforce and an Excel data model for Xactly to calculate commissions.
Sometimes Xactly seems to be a little late to the game on certain features, but they are always working to be the best in the business....it may just take a little while to get there. Also, Analytics could use a complete overhaul. It's like we're stuck in the old days and isn't as easy to just build. You really have to know where all of your data is stored especially if you have custom fields. That and the fact that Analytics is only refreshed every two hours. That's a huge downfall when it's time to run Payroll. You'd think it would be linked to the same refresh as your trigger.
If Xactly doesn't have the feature you need now, it will soon.
Our biggest benefits is of course saving money in correct commission calculations. I will not shy away from the fact that I've built some serious Excel models and was running commissions in Excel. But one or two errors caught outside of contract terms nearly pays for the system itself. We've been able to automate our manual models and implement into Xactly, then using APIs to connect to a homegrown Partner portal, we're able to reflect our Xactly calculations onto our portal.
It has a lot of functionality so any rules or complex plan designs that you have can be done in Incent. It also has a much better end user interface for looking at their payments and credits.
It isn't as easy to administer as Express is. It has a learning curve to understanding all the tabs and how everything ties together. Once you understand it, it is easier to use but does take some time.
We are design and planning our commission plans and then running those commissions each month. We have automated most all of our commission process and our end users have all adopted this system.
Xactly gives our Business the much needed flexibility to change compensation plans on the fly for our sales reps without compromising accuracy or transparency. In addition, the Analytics module gives us the ability to provide quick and easy reporting for Payroll and Executive Staff.
Would like to see less redundancy, from the administration standpoint. For example, would be great to click on a person under people and see all relevant information on one page, including quotas, rate tables and plan assignment.

I really liked the ability to see all of my commissions, previous performance, and what I needed to do to hit my personal forecast.
I felt that most times I logged into Xactly, the commissions were incorrect. This could have been because of delays in updating or just the uniqueness of the products we were selling at the company.
Xactly was the ultimate final tool that finance would use to pay our commissions. It helped because it was one centralized place to track and record everything.
Xactly is a wonderful tool. On a daily basis, I am able to achieve my corporate goals with maximum efficiency. From comp design, to quota uploads and comp plan issuance, I am able to complete my commission team goals from start to finish, all within one powerful program. Xactly is powerful, accurate, dependable and easy to use. I wold recommend it to anyone.
I would like to be able to navigate through Xactly easier. While Xactly is such a wonderful program, everything is perfect put in its proper place, and because of this, it is sometimes difficult to achieve more simple goals quickly. If Xactly was able to create a streamline mode or interface, like the basic and advanced options within a search bar, I feel it would greatly improve the ease of use.
Xactly is truely the best. When you decide to join the Xactly network, take your time when starting the set up process. Make sure you come to Xactly with all your concerns and needs, as they will make sure to take care of them all!
I design, maintain and distribute Compensation Plans to over 2000 persons across the globe. Xactly allows us to do this all within a single program and as efficiently as possible. As I mentioned above, everything i need is all within one system, from start to finish, allowing me to achieve my goals as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Previously we were doing everything manually and we did not have a great tracking system. This eliminates a lot of the guess work and allows for a high overview along with details. I like the ease of delivering yearly plans to employees, and being able to fix commission and sales credit easily. Love the ability to see % to monthly, quarterly, and yearly progress.
That it is not real time, however; that may be due to how we have it setup. I wish there was a way to tie results into salesforce.
I would highly recommend this platform. It creates consistency and value to sales teams.

It is incredibly complex to set up business rules and if you are changing your plans from year to year you will likely need to engage services to do it. They also outsource their services so year to year you have no control of the resource you get.
Great User Interface for your end users. Painful to get plans up and running unless you have super simple 1 line item configurations. Creating rankings and other reporting can also be difficult. We are dependent on services throughout the year despite having really smart, capable internal people.

Works great for document management, sales reporting, commissions calculations to audits. It provides a detailed statement of payments for sales. It allows the sales force real-time visibility to their bookings results and commissions. If they review their commissions early in the month, it allows us to be proactive in making any necessary corrections before the close of the incentive period.
Tedious multiple and duplicate steps required in position and plan creation which draw out the process and create areas for errors to happen. Need a streamline system to function more efficiently. Cognos module is very slow in producing payroll reports, especially early in the month when so many people are using the system at the same time.
It is used to analyze and model compensation plans, and its reports are used as the source data for all of revenue reporting and sales productivity reports. Used to track monthly compensation and quota attainment for sales representatives as well as payout any monthly bonuses attached to overall sales numbers.
I like that Xactly is separated into multiple different sections and has different subcategories for different topics which allows for more easily searchable information/features. In addition, the customer support is excellent!
I dislike that the server response time of Xactly isn't the fastest, as it often takes a few more seconds than I would like to load up whilst editing/making changes/pulling up reports (info).
I am working to make reports and ensure that sales people's reports look the way they want them to as well as offer only pertinent information to themselves. However, this proved to be difficult because I found myself making many specific groups and exceptions in order to offer a more specific customization for people in each plan.

The concept is amazing and appeared as though it would solve all the problems of manual calculation!
The production just simply can not handle a complicated comp plan even though sales reps and solutions consultants stated that it could.
Thoroughly vet that the product can handle all of your comp plans. Ask them to set up a demo site where all of your comp plans are already built in and there is also data in the sight for a whole year. This will allow you to fully vet the system with your comp plan information to make sure it can do what they say it can.
We were attempting to remove the need for manual calculations. There were almost zero benefits do to the fact that the system could not handle our comp plans.
The UI is very friendly and it is very easy to navigate to find my Commission statements as well as my team overview for direct reports.
It can be complicated to implement complex commission components. But this is only as complicated as our policy makes them. Often times it is easier to manually calculate the commission amounts and load it into an "adjustment" field rather than use the Xactly framework to calculate the amounts.

Sales Compensation Calculations
I like the fact that the reps are able to see what they are getting paid for. I also like the fact that Xactly Incent updates on a daily basis all on it's own!
I dislike how difficult and time consuming it can be to make plan changes for someone that has not had years of experience with the application.
Have multiple comp admins. I am the only comp admin for my business region and it puts a lot of pressure on one person to keep up with all of the constant changes in our business. Have at least one more comp admin would be very beneficial.
Also, when Xactly offers training, attend them! They usually provide good information that you may not have known.
With employees being able to see what they are getting paid for, and the amount of commissions they are earning, it incents them to sell more.
The support team at Xactly is awesome! I know I will get great help right away! I also like the support manual as it has a lot of detailed information.
I wish there was a way to have more free training on how to use the tool. There are times where the manual is just too much to read when I need to solve a quick problem.
I would certainly recommend Xactly to other companies. They are a great company with awesome support!

Great BI tool to pull out data. Overall good navigation on statements. Very well thought through structuring of each piece of data able (users, people, position, hierarchy, versioning, etc).
Not very good in maintaining mid-year changes in roles, target incentives and quotas.
