"Great if you need to test a lot of devices and don't want to buy them. "

What do you like best?

The number of devices available to test on is great and they have the most up-to-date OS installed on them so it's easy to test on OS that have just been released. Also the ability to run automated tests in the cloud.

What do you dislike?

It is quite expensive if you have devices in-house it probably better to use them then to use Xamarin test cloud. It is very easy to also use up all the time you have bought, as you are testing multiple devices for a short period of time, e.g. 20 devices for 2mins = 40mins per test run.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Use automated tests. Try to cover your most used devices not all devices

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

If you have a small selection of devices and need to test on more. You can either buy them or use Xamarin test cloud that gets updated to the latest mobile devices. Also capturing UI Tests in the cloud.

"Excelent product, but should support Windows Platforms as well."

What do you like best?

Xamarin Test Cloud is very fast and easy to use, but it lacks integration with Windows platforms.

I love that it is integrated with VS (and XS on Mac), and I can integrate it also with VSTS for Continuous Integration.

I'm using it mainly for technical speeches for communities and events. We are considering using it inside our project but we need a good motive to pay the high price. Not all our customers are willing to pay that much.

What do you dislike?

I can't test iOS apps from Windows.

I can build apps from windows, it compiles and runs them. There should be an option to *automatically* copy the .IPA file to Windows and upload it to TestCloud.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It works as expected, BUT it is expensive and you need to be sure it has the devices you need to test. It does not support Windows Phone, our Windows Tablet, for example.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Testing problems reported by users on devices which I do not own.

"Superb Cloud Mobile App Testing Platform"

What do you like best?

Xamarin Test Cloud is a cloud-based service easy automates UI Acceptance testing of mobile apps. The platform provides a wide variety of mobile devices on which testing can be done with minimum efforts.

As it is a cloud-based service, the maintenance efforts are then removed from the end consumer who then can focus on tasks. It enables developer to build quality mobile apps quickly and with confidence.

It is the best Cross-Platform Mobile development and testing tool available in market.

The Visual Studio and C# can be be used for developing and writing testing for the cross-platform mobile app. A good amount of document and learning resources available.

What do you dislike?

Windows platform developers will be unhappy as Xamarin Test Cloud doesn't support this. So, your mobile application cannot become fully cross-platform which is a big disappoint here. Developer with less experience will face challenge in implementing and using Xamarin Test Cloud.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Microsoft Xamarin has good documentation, tutorials and a wide range of devices available for testing.

Its automation engineers provide hands-on coaching as well.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Xamarin Test Cloud enable us to test our mobile application on thousands of mobile devices. So for small organisations its helpful for making efficient software mobile product by doing testing on multiple devices without purchasing them.

"Overall a very useful tool if you plan on targeting many versions on Android "

What do you like best?

The tests are very intuitive and easy to understand. The feedback on the UI of failed tests are very helpful. It's very BDD-friendly and could be understand by non-technical people like Project Managers.

What do you dislike?

It can be painfully slow. Sometimes Wifi fails on some devices, presumably because they are all in the same warehouse and fighting for a router?. The support from Xamarin is poor but this might be because of the Microsoft integration they are yndergoing

Recommendations to others considering the product

Be aware that the support is not so great. They do not respond for a long time.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Testing on multiple Android devices for our application simultaneously without having to manually test them or purchase the devices.

"Must used platform for Mobile developers"

What do you like best?

The dashboard itself explains the whole concept, It is a must recommended product for mobile developers who likes to ship softwares/app with no bugs at all. The bug tracking and user analytics system makes the developer understand about the user trends and helps him/her to change the code accordingly.

What do you dislike?

The pricing model is a bit tough for start-ups and needs to be reduced. Overall performance of the product should also be tuned.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Reduction in pricing will be a great help for start-ups.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Design, develop and ship a mobile application that maintain the records of the users nearby.

"Cross-Platform Mobile Application Development Tool"

What do you like best?

The Xamarin Test Cloud has the ability to test the applications online. That means, I don't have to buy the test mobile phones to test my mobile apps. It does save my money. In addition, the test cloud is very strong and provide a lot of models.

What do you dislike?

First of all, it is not free. Although the there are couples of levels you can chose, the minimal is 99 dollars per month. It is a little bit expensive to use the test cloud. As we all know, the time cost of an application's development will take several months even for small projects or even more.

Second, the touch screen need to optimize. It is a little hard to use zoom in or zoom out.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The test report is very important.

"Great tool for quick mobile development"

What do you like best?

If you know WPF, then development in Xamarin is pretty easy. It's a quick way to develop mobile apps especially for Windows. It has a mock environment to see what screens would look like in a mobile device and debug capabilities.

What do you dislike?

Nothing to dislike. It has been working fine and a great way to start and get your feet wet in the mobile development arena

Recommendations to others considering the product

It's a great tool for mobile development

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use it to prototype and develop windows mobile application. It is based off of WPF so it's easy to transition from Silverlight or C# environment into Xamarin

"Cross platform cloud testing solution "

What do you like best?

The ability to test on lots of devices, without having to manage them. Easy to write common code for both platform, because you can do that in your IDE with all power of C# (not js, what is great!)

What do you dislike?

Pricing policy. Very hard to understand how much minute on device you need.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Better than buying and managing army of devices by ourselves.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are developing enterprise solution, that helps personals do their work better. There is no mandatory device policy to use that product (one of it's strengths above all other). Test cloud helps provide better quality product to end user.

"Useful way to manage testing resources and requirements"

What do you like best?

High versatility of mobile devices to test across.

What do you dislike?

Can take time to learn all the bells and whistles of the platform and getting the QA team on it.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Certainly check them out, but keep in mind this doesn't fully replace internal QA resources - rather reaffirms them.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Testing quality of developed mobile builds.
