Zinc's redeeming qualities were that it usually worked and they had really friendly support staff. From a higher level perspective, we appreciated that they were willing to agree to HIPAA compliance, which was important for us and our clients.
What do you dislike?
We had several events where the entire system would go down when we made changes to our team. The apps were mediocre at best (they were clearly based off of webkit/chromium) and the admin panel was lacking in a lot of ways.
Recommendations to others considering the product
I don't recommend this product unless you don't mind being a beta tester while this company tries to come up with a solid vision for their company. The name of the product changed at least once during the time our company was using it.

It was previously our chat client throughout our office. It was a mission-critical part of our company because it was the primary way we communicated with one another
