WORST Email Marketing Tool

What do you like best?

I'm hard pressed to tell you anything I like about this tool. Only true benefit is that is works well with Zoho CRM.

What do you dislike?

Everything. Creating an email sucks. Not intuitive at all. I never know if the emails actually send. We have a huge problem with Gmail delivery and Zoho tries to blame delivery issues on subject line content. After almost a year of using the tool, I question if people are even receiving our emails. I've sent test emails to multiple accounts of my own and guess what... 1/10 actually hits my inbox regardless of what the subject line is. Reporting feature SUCKS bad. You can only send follow-up campaigns to people who opened the email, but not resend a campaign that wasn't opened. Once an email is running, you can't change ANYTHING. You can't even add a recipient (you have to clone the existing email and resend). Everything you send runs through a "compliance check" though they come back sometimes in seconds, so what are they checking exactly? If you import a list you can't have group email addresses (info@xxxx.com, sales@xxx.com), so it manually extracts those from the list import. Sometimes I have 30-40 names I have to manually enter. I don't mind the manual entry so much, except you can only put in first name, last name, and email address. If you want a company name or to assign a specific tag, you have to go in each record manually. Honest.y, this is the biggest POS email program you'll ever experience. DON'T RELY ON IT. I've been doing email marketing for major agencies for almost 20 years now and this is the worst program I have ever used. Spend the money on MailChimp. A far superior product that is MUCH, MUCH, MUCH easier to use!

Recommendations to others considering the product

Stay away until they figure out how to compete with programs like MailChimp. If you have experience using an email marketing tool in the past this program will give you many pains.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We went with Zoho originally because of the email marketing tools, but instantly hated them. We LOVE LOVE LOVE Zoho CRM, though. Honestly, the only reason I/we suffer through this email marketing program is because of how much we appreciate the CRM tool.

Excellent experience with Zoho Campaigns

What do you like best?

It has been an incredible experience with Zoho Campaigns. The new User Interface (UI) is absolutely amazing. It can manage email campaigns, social media campaigns, automation on workflows, integrates to Zoho CRM and many more integrations as well.

What do you dislike?

Requires video training modules on learning how to use the new version. I am sure it will be coming soon.

Recommendations to others considering the product

The new user interface is really amazing and simple to use, It has new features as well. Highly recommended solution. The solution provides campaigning support on Emails, Social Media and has workflows to do automation. I have been using the older version, which I found just ok, but recently they had activated to try out the new UI, which is far better than the older version.

+ Data import feature is quite good, it is simple and provides step by step process.

+ Automation using Workflows is an incredible system to directly integrate to CRM to find the effectiveness of the campaigns

+ A/B Testing is available too

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Organization of campaigns key

What do you like best?

The ability to "dashboard" all past efforts, for as long as organization allows, is key to utilizing Zoho Campaigns and learning from past tests and campaigns.

What do you dislike?

The product is very unique and thus not user friendly at first, learning curve is really steep but support is there to help. Feel free to ping support often - they are very friendly and quick with assistance

Recommendations to others considering the product

support is great from zoho team. Multiple times reaching out to support have not disappointed me - they continue to be fast, accurate and helpful (and polite too)

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Original goals are to do marketing campaigns and email marketing efforts all via the zoho campaigns dashboard and tools. While leveraging from our extensive contacts database used in Zoho CRM, the campaigns module makes it seamless to market to these same people throughout the sales cycle. Ours is an extensive non-impulse B2B sale and thus has multiple touch points and contacts over time in order to stimulate and close a sale. Generating these touch points with the campaigns module is more efficient than outbound telephone dialing which is how we did this effort in the past.

Zoho Campaigns for Lead Nurturing

What do you like best?

Zoho campaigns, specifically email campaigns, allow you to customize templates and the way that emails look to have consistent branding when you reach out to your leads or new contacts. I like that through cloning, my emails have a similar feel so my clients can tell it's us just by the way our emails look.

What do you dislike?

There are just a lot of features Zoho hasn't incorporated yet compared to bigger CRM tools. One of the biggest features I'd like to see is the ability to build smart lists based on clients interactions with our emails.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Zoho is an inexpensive, great option for very basic email campaigns.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We had a pretty big database of contacts, near 13,000 leads, but they were acquired over two years and no one knew which were good or bad. By using Zoho, we have been able to clean up our lists and narrow our targets within our own database.

It integrates with Zoho CRM so why use anything else

What do you like best?

It integrates with Zoho CRM which we are heavy users of and once you establish a mailing list you can make it dynamic so that any updates on either end are pushed in both directions so no having to maintain mailing lists other than the initial set up. Analytics are great as you can see those analytics in both CRM and Campaigns. Being able to see the stats helps better prepare the next campaign plus seeing what the enduser clicked on helps in targeting a contact for further updates.

What do you dislike?

We've had some challenges in creating the design for a campaign. And even though there are a bunch of templates we've not found it to be as easy as we'd hoped. Though I'm sure someone with html or other design experience may find it way easier to use. But we're committed to working through the learning curve on the design end.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you're currently a Zoho CRM user then I don't know why you'd want to have to maintain a separate database in any other app since it can update your list dynamically. I believe there is a free version and a pay per use version so it's easy to try out with a simple list to see how it works as well as the analytics.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Maintaining contact with client and leads based on specific parameters i.e. last order date, geographical area, etc. It's easy to define what you want your parameters are in CRM and then link a mailing list to a specifically designed campaign.

Zoho Campaigns Offers Some Unique Features

What do you like best?

I like the fact that Zoho makes it really easy to take your current leads and move them into campaigns and let's you track the effectiveness of each and every campaign and your ability to see the yield from each.

What do you dislike?

I feel like the interface can be really cumbersome sometimes, and it makes it difficult to utilize. I think that I would like a little more flexibility with some of the tools available.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I considered the fact that we would be adding a lot more users in the upcoming year, and we wanted to make sure that we mitigated costs against actual in the future

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Some of the problems that I have include getting the data out and making it so I can export the information into other services.
