Docusign for apartment rentals

What do you like best?

Easy to use for me (landlord) and my tenants (lease signers).

Gather signatures quickly and efficiently.

Mobile capabilities. I can check everything from signature status to account info from my iPhone.

What do you dislike?

I don't like the x docs per month approach. I wish they offered some kind of rollover feature or docs / year plan. I only use a few times a year when I am doing leases. I send out a bunch of leases and associated docs and then don't touch the software for several months. When I do use the software I bump up against the monthly limit. It is not worth it to me to upgrade but it is a concern that I pay each month, hardly use the software, and then bump up against the limit the few times that I actually do use it.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I rent apartments to college students and require parents to co-sign. I typically have multiple students on a single lease. So for example, a lease for a 4 bedroom apartment will typically have 8 signers. Often times the students and parents are spread across the country if not across the globe. Before Docusign it was a huge hassle to secure all the signatures in a timely manner. In addition, by the time the leases were signed by all parties (scanned, faxed, copied, folded, passed around, etc...) and returned to me they would be practically illegible.

With Docusign I just click a few buttons and I am done. Getting leases signed quickly and efficiently is very easy (for me and my tenants).
