Goto meeting allows easy and seamless communication for me and my clients with the ability to share screens, see each other in a view, and as a lot more clients are doing now, share the recorded session for later review. I even use it to fix issues on my mom's computer as you can control the other computers screen and is easier than driving there.
While easy to set up, sometimes there is a conflict or delay as a client who has not used it before tries to access it and has to download the connection software. We have never lost a meeting for this, but they have been delayed.
If using goto meeting with new users, send the info on what they need to install before the meeting, and as well mention they may need to install or start software so the meetings can start on time.
It is also a good idea to both educate and tell people that the meetings may or are being recorded if they come into the meeting late.
The solutions are multifold.
1. When sharing screens discussing issues I can see the client and their face on the screen, and this helps connect on a human level to see how well they are actually understanding any issues, and vice versa for them
2. It allows me to train in real time, or to actually make changes to systems that may be behind firewalls for connecting to, so if the client is logged into the product we are working with I can show them in real time how to solve the problem rather than explaining it.
3. Goto meeting allows me to record our sessions, as there are times when the next client has the same issue. I can send the video link (I post to Vimeo) and point out a timeframe in the recording which saves me a ton of time
4. I can fix my mom's computer without leaving my house (software updates which can take 2 hrs, I can monitor remotely and do and still be home with my family)
