Marketo is a robust and once you understand it, easy to use. It was very easy to integrate into our Salesforce instance and get up and running. The support from Marketo has been great, from the support team, my account person and the online self-help articles. There is a great user community that provides answers and advice that helps with the fairly steep learning curve for new users.
It's still by far the best available option on the market today.
The UI is terrible and really needs an overhaul. Having said that, I know that plenty of people find the user interface and experience perfectly fine. Users run into road blocks and it's not clear why things aren't working. Why there is no drag and drop functionality is a real head scratcher.
Coding emails can be tricky. But that is normally a one time issue.
It is important that there is someone who is focused on managing and understanding how to leverage the main features, Marketo will provide be a tremendous added value to your company.
We are working towards aligning our Marketing Department more closely with Sales by having our activities focused on revenue goals. Marketo will be a significant part of that goal. We are also in the middle of a project to implement buyer's journey and more fully automate lead management.
