"Useful and fun visualization tool"

What do you like best?

I like how tableau can connect to so many different data sources, whether it's connecting to a text file, excel file, directly to a database using SQL, etc. I like how you can connect live and Tableau updates as your data updates.

I also like the visualization - it's a very appealing design.

The global filters are very helpful in allowing you to update all your worksheets at once.

What do you dislike?

Formatting is a pain. If I'm trying to change the font, or change text into dollar format, etc I have to go into each graph and change it manually. I really wish you could apply a global format.

Adjusting graphs on a dashboard is kinda confusing, with all the different containers and such.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Tableau desktop does use alot of memory, so it's best not to have too many other applications open at the same time.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I look at distributions and attach rates for my customers across different attributes to identify hot spots.

I also monitor email campaigns and A/B testing using Tableau.

My team creates dashboards that we share with the department to communicate our company's performance.
